Our comment from FitFit United States about Victory Fitness Center (Gym 3):
Victory Fitness Center, located in Augusta, is renowned for being one of the best gyms on Fort Gordon, especially popular among CrossFit enthusiasts. Many users appreciate the well-equipped workout areas, including dedicated sections for strength training and functional fitness.
Highlights of the center include:
- Diverse Equipment: A variety of machines and free weights cater to different fitness routines, including CrossFit and powerlifting.
- Functional Areas: Available space for sled drags, cardio workouts, and various strength training routines.
- Clean Facilities: Most users find the gym clean and well-maintained, with friendly staff that creates a welcoming atmosphere.
However, some patrons have voiced concerns about certain aspects:
- Ventilation Issues: A lack of air conditioning and ventilation has made the gym uncomfortably hot during warmer months.
- Limited Operating Hours: Users have noted that the gym's early closing time limits accessibility for those with traditional working hours.
- Staff Interaction: Some visitors have experienced inconsistent levels of engagement from staff, though others find them friendly.
Despite these challenges, the Victory Fitness Center continues to be a popular choice, especially for those looking for a community-focused gym that supports various workout experiences.
Victory Fitness Center (Gym 3): Opinions

Negative experience: Gym is awful, they refuse to purchase AC / ventilation and instead choose to close at 1300, minimal if any equipment for accessory work, unless you’re a crossfitter. Gym is so unbelievably stuffy and hot. This is how hot it is a 0645. Management would rather purchase “2 big box floor fans” than an AC unit and it shows how much they care about Soldiers and their patrons.
Negative experience: The best gym on this post and they decided to cut the hours. Shows you how much leadership cares about physical fitness.
Positive experience: Wish they open the door to outside (screen doors)for better airflow. Closing 1pm is a terrible policy to the regular soldiers get off work 4/5pm daily.
Fantastic experience: They have everything you need, plus it has a dry Sona
Positive experience: ACFT section is very functional but limited in space and availability. Cardio room is crammed, hot and needs updated equipment. Weights room is also tiny and crammed. Parking is ample and well lit.
Fantastic experience: My gym go-to. Got pretty much everything I'd ever need for my workout.
Fantastic experience: This is the BEST Gym on Fort Eisenhower! Staff is AWESOME, Management is amazing, and there is always space for whatever your programming requires. Thanks Victory!
Positive experience: Some of the staff do not greet patrons. When engaging them, they are very short and not enthused to assist.
Positive experience: Hours are short. Equipment is a little older; but everything you need for a good functional fitness workout. Also has two platforms for powerlifting or OLY.
Fantastic experience: This is one of my favorite gyms to work out at. They have a variety of areas to complete a good workout, free weights, kettlebells, sled push, kicking box area, and a separate CrossFit area. They have drinks and a few smoothies. The bathrooms are always clean and the staff are friendly and helpful when needed. Hopefully, the installation can come to a resolution to fix the HVAC system to allow for better ventilation in the warmer months. The hours are inconsistent due to the HVAC not working properly
Negative experience: Very dirty, no A/C, limited hours, rude management who was distracted playing with tv so he could watch South Park on full blast.
Fantastic experience: Rowers are in a good state, and there are plenty of rigs. Get barbell clamps from the equipment window.
Negative experience: Decent gym with terrible management decisions. I’ve been going to this gym for about a year now and I don’t think things are getting any better so I’ll post this review hoping it will be seen. The staff like to leave the majority of the clean up to the patrons. I have never seen the kettle bell shelves in better shape than is posted. They do post a ton of signs telling patrons to put the weights back and how to Organise them, and I guess that is as much effort the staff is willing to put into it. On weekend for some reason they put away the ID card scanner and make you fill out a piece of paper to use the gym. Just….why? The worst part is they lock up the safety equipment in a room because they are afraid of people stealing it. It blows me away that management is so afraid of someone stealing a $2 clip that they let people lift heavy weights and risk serious injury from the weights shifting. Terrible decisions by management. Even if you do get some clips by filling out yet another piece of paper, they have different sizes of bars and the clips sometimes don’t fit (see picture). Several machines have been broken for the entire year I have been coming here. Overall, decent gym but is under attack from terrible management. At the very least give people access to safety equipment.
Positive experience: Gym is very limited on the free weights. but it's not too crowded also not the best AC they have
Positive experience: Thanks for opening on Saturdays.. Plenty.to.do.
Positive experience: Pretty Decent gym, lots of options for all types of wods. Wish there was an area to stretch.
Positive experience: Great atmosphere, equipment, and layout. If there was a central AC instead of shop fans and heavy bags/ speed bags to go along with the boxing gloves, this place would get 5 stars.
Positive experience: If they had a water bottle fountain then I would give this place 5 best gym on base overall!
Positive experience: Great gym down the street from my office, staff is always pleasant and remembers their regulars, they need more funding and it would be n8ce if the sauna opened up
Fantastic experience: Great place to do some CrossFit and other regular workouts. It has a fake grass, bars and other CrossFit equipment, perfect to work on ACFT. In the corner there is a mat to work on jujitsu and other martial arts. There are three additional rooms to work on: regular muscular workout, two cardio rooms
Positive experience: Probably my favorite gym on post. Less crowded with all necessary equipment.
Fantastic experience: Nice setup for ACFT style exercises.
Fantastic experience: In my opinion, best gym on post. The boxing room was renovated into a functional fitness room. Equipment is great and it's usually not that crowded. Only drawback is the limited hours.
Positive experience: Solid gym with decent equipment amount. Could use more adjustable benches.
Positive experience: Small bathroom.
Positive experience: It's a military gym. Good amount of equipment. Busy during the usual PT hours.
Fantastic experience: Two words.... Power Sled
Fantastic experience: Nice gym, nice staff a great place to workout!
Positive experience: It's loses one star because it's open bay showers and only one person makes smoothies. But it's prefect for lifting, cross fit, and cardio
Positive experience: Currently closed until further notice. Posted on their door.
Positive experience: Apart from the civillian who was working the sign-in table when I arrived, who was talking to everyone in sight like they were all beneath him, the facility was nice. Everything was clean and from what I saw, functional. There's an AstroTurf strip where you can practice sled pulls, which I believe is unique to this gym of the many on post. Seriously though, dude at the table, try something called professional courtesy. It's good for you.
Positive experience: They have a decent amount of equipment to include crossfit.
Fantastic experience: A CrossFit gym, making it the best gym on base for powerlifters, easy. Lots of power racks, and free chalk available. Be warned that shoeless lifting is not allowed, and men’s shorts can be too short. Otherwise highly recommend! Before COVID they were open on weekends and until 8 on weekdays. I hope the new hours are only temporary.
Positive experience: Solid CrossFit gym, not ideal for powerlifters
Positive experience: Clean. Nice employees and great equipment. There could be more variety of treadmills. Specifically a Woodway treadmill would be nice
Fantastic experience: Awesome gym. Has everything you need for the acft.
Positive experience: Weight room way too small
Fantastic experience: Best GYM in the State of Georgia!
Positive experience: Not enough variety of different Nautilus exercise positions
Fantastic experience: My favorite CrossFit gym on Fort Gordon
Fantastic experience: First time visiting this location and it was crowded as expected for the 4 day! Great workout though!
Positive experience: Crossfit gym in post. Could do with some higher quality cardio equipment and some updating in the free weight room
Negative experience: Less people
Fantastic experience: Great equipment but needs to be clean, showers and lockers always dirty. Shower with mold. It is not a place to shower.
Positive experience: For the most part, this is a great gym. Lots of space.for CrossFit or functional fitness, mats for sparring, weight lifting and cardio equipment... The only real issues are the lack of air conditioning and lots of gear that has seen better days.
Fantastic experience: This is the only gym around with a Jacob's ladder. The workout rooms are separate so that's a plus. The staff friendly and humorous.
Fantastic experience: Best CrossFit classes and best coaches ever I’ve never grown more in my fitness journey than I have since finding CFFG in 2018. Go find coach Reggie and coach Mitch!
Positive experience: Great workout....
Positive experience: Great amount of equipment but no air conditioning
Negative experience: No air conditioning. Or if there is, the vents don't reach any of the workout rooms. I am drenched in sweat before I even begin working out. Missing lots of weights. Tons of pairs of weights are missing their mates, so you can't piece together anything on the bench that is even. Not a good selection of equipment. Possibly the worst gym on post. The only good part is the crossfit area, which is closed for private classes whenever I need to use it.
Positive experience: This is a very great gym for functional fitness and power-lifting routines. The cross-fit section may seem territorial, but I just use the other side while a class is going on. There is also a turf runway great for sled-drags. I've had a few occasions where the cross-fitters spill over onto the runway, but they are really good about recognizing fair use of the turf.
Positive experience: This gym is better than the others on post. I would give a 5 star rating if the gym was open for a longer period and the weight selection in the back room with the dumbbells had more plates so everyone could get a workout in. I've never been to a gym that closes as early as this gym and the open hours are shorter 7 days a week 365 days a year compared to any standard gym. The gym should be open till 9pm on weekdays and 6 if not 7pm on the weekends at the very least. AC doesn't work here either. I like this gym but these couple of things keep it from being great.
Positive experience: Five stars for the facility cleanliness, three for the amount of weights available versus amount of ppl who use the facility, 1 Star for the patrons. You either get selfie taking, vain, baby soldiers, OR you get the bros who stare at you because you don’t go heavy all the time. ALSO! The men’s showers are ridiculously small.
Positive experience: This is the place for CrossFit
Positive experience: Great place no cost for a trainer
Fantastic experience: Great CrossFit classes here M-F.
Positive experience: Good gym and equipment. But God forbid you touch any of it or even look at the CrossFit side.
Positive experience: Best gym on base. There is a very large CrossFit area and expansive area of mats for wrestling/grappling. Strangely the saunas are co-ed. The smoothies are great and very reasonably priced.
Positive experience: Gym has what you need for every type of workout. They have a mat for rolling, an entire section dedicated to crossfit, sled station, cardio, cables and free weights. Definitely my favorite gym on post.
Fantastic experience: Rah!!!!!
Positive experience: Fine gym. Good and free CrossFit classes. Good amount of strength training equipment. Area for unit combatives practice or judo group meetup in evening. Unfortunately none of the supposedly $2 billion the government's dumping into fort Gordon has gone to fixing this buildings AC.
Negative experience: employees are rude and mean
Positive experience: Enjoy my workout. Although Uncle Sam needs to update the gyms. As a parent you should provide a family room also. First post without one. So far!
Negative experience: Over crowded weight room, went there around 1800, too many people in the small back weight room. Only 4 treadmills and a couple of ellipticals. Locker rooms and sauna were inoperable. Extremely disappointed. Shake bar looked like a health hazard.
Positive experience: Good place to work your body
Fantastic experience: Always working to get new equipment. I absolutely love the crossfit program they have established at the gym and the community built around it. There are plenty of free weights and a room full of cardio and strength/resistance machines in the back rooms.
Positive experience: Decent gym if you like working out in a sauna
Positive experience: Typical Army gym
Positive experience: Good quiet place to workout
Negative experience: Cross fit ties up majority of the barbells for a majority of the hours of operation. Forces the room in the back to more than likely exceed the maximum amount of persons allowed per fire safety .
Positive experience: The staff there are typically very friendly and polite, however the lack of air conditioning makes this place miserable during the summer and early fall and most of the weight lifting equipment is cramped too closely and is really in poor condition. They need to upgrade or repair a lot of their weight machines.
Fantastic experience: I haven't done any CrossFit here, but on Sundays they are open earlier than any of the other gyms, so I like to use their cardio machines and sauna those days. Their sauna is large and co-ed.
Fantastic experience: Not a terrible gym. I do mostly calisthenics so I'm not hogging a single machine for long but my biggest problem is the crowds. The compartments can feel like I'm sandwiched in the room and I have to switch up my routine. So I recommend finding the right time that best for you.
Positive experience: Crossfit country!
Positive experience: It's a nice gym if you're into crossfit. I'm not... it has other things. Free weights, combatives area. Right next to the track
Positive experience: Perfect for lifting
Positive experience: If you do crossfit or need a cardiocentric workout this would be the best location on post for you.
Positive experience: AKA Crossfit gym. It also has a weight room, yoga room and a treadmill room
Positive experience: Old building
Positive experience: Is OK, for a quick work out or to use the in door basketball court. But that's it. Is a small gym don't expect classes or high tech machines.
Positive experience: Great place to lift if you're able to be on base. Has kg and lb plates for oly and powerlifting. Gym offers crossfit classes if you're into that sort of thing. Two cardio rooms and a free weight area as well.
Positive experience: Need to be updated.
Positive experience: Good foor what it is. Crossfit is a big part of what they do.
Positive experience: Ooooooooo
Positive experience: Normal gym but good enough
Fantastic experience: My home gym! The Manager Josh and his staff treat you like family. They know patrons by first names and go above and beyond to accommodate your needs! They are making improvements to the facility as well as getting new equipment! Crossfit Fort Gordon Classes are held here too. Led by Coach Reggie, it is free for DOD ID card holders and dependants. Crossfit staff is also extremely nice! Overall, hands down, the best gym on Fort Gordon and the surrounding Augusta Area!
Positive experience: Okay gym. Definitely not the nicest one on base.
Positive experience: Ok
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Negative experience: Didn't really dislike this place. It is just small. 60% of the gym is used for CrossFit.
Negative experience: They need to fix air conditioner asap
Fantastic experience: Good gym with lots of free weights and machines, partitioned out very oddly though. Never super busy like the main gym and with good hours.
Fantastic experience: Awesome place for boxing
Fantastic experience: Great gym. The cardio room is not crowded on Fridays around 0600.
Negative experience: To many stray car in parking lot.
Fantastic experience: Nice and quiet gym for getting in a good workout.
Fantastic experience: Crossfit!
Fantastic experience: Great gym, extensive facility with a terrific crossfit area.
Positive experience: This gym is fully equipped with cross-fit. It’s not open late enough for people who work different hours.
Fantastic experience: The staff is very friendly and helpful:)
