Gordon Fitness Center (Gym 4): Opinions

Positive experience: Wish they were 24/7
Fantastic experience: Nice equipment and plenty of available equipment.
Positive experience: Large gym. Plenty of parking. Air conditioning not adequate.
Fantastic experience: Great customer service with a smile. The best place to work out, clean facility and nice people to workout with.
Negative experience: Great staff. It is hard to workout with some gym goers using multiple dumbbells and machines at one time.
Fantastic experience: Always a friendly staff! Been going there for years. People break stuff all the time. They do a great job with getting it fixed asap.
Positive experience: Packed.
Fantastic experience: Get fit get right
Positive experience: Could use more equipment and bigger area.
Negative experience: It is consistenly hot, small, smelly and crowded. Good selection of machines and equipment but not enough.
Negative experience: Pretty mediocre equipment. But since it's the best gym on post it's constantly packed. So.... not the best option. Also I'm pretty sure there's no ventilation because it's always hotter in there than it is outside and and air smells stagnant
Fantastic experience: The gym cranked up the heat and was able to drop 4lbs in one week with a regular workout. I will go back. Nice workout equipment and there is enough to accommodate a large crowd.
Fantastic experience: good gym!
Fantastic experience: The gym has a good mix of diverse equipment so that you can get a good workout. However the treadmills are in need of being replaced
Positive experience: The treadmills are not the best. Half of them are broken or wobbly. The ones that do work, you can't get a good stride while running because of the stiff deck.
Positive experience: Usually not too busy, locker room is a bit crowded
Positive experience: Best gym on post. No lat pulldown machine tho
Positive experience: Not a bad gym but could use some updates. Sauna is great though.
Negative experience: This gym is in terrible shape. A dozen broke treadmills, missing pins for weight adjustments, and outdated bathrooms. The Army has hit a all time low. The troops deserve better!
Negative experience: This gym is in drastic need for improvement! Just about all the treadmills are old and broken. There was 13 that had out of order signs on them for over 3 weeks and are still broken. The mirrors haven't been cleaned in months and the restrooms are outdated with mildew showers. This gym is in terrible condition! It's sad! I guess no one inspects or takes care of the up keep!
Positive experience: Sunna closed
Fantastic experience: Awesome gym. Added more equipment and reopened the sauna
Fantastic experience: Love working out here. LOTS of machines and even at it's busiest, you don't have a wait for anything. Great atmosphere, great people. Absolutely LOVE their smoothie stand that's IN the gym. Prefer it to Tropical Smoothie at the PX.
Fantastic experience: Nice gym, has everything you need and pretty convenient hours and a sauna and smoothie bar.
Positive experience: Fort Gordon Physical fitness center
Fantastic experience: Very nice place but you'll need veteran military/spouse credentials to go there
Fantastic experience: The absolute best Gym on Fort Gordon!
Fantastic experience: It has everything you need and you cant beat the price. If you are looking for anything more youre paying at least 60 a month
Fantastic experience: Its clean orderly and staff isvery good.
Positive experience: A great sanitized place to come and maximize on your workout plans. Great atmospheric. Great energy. Lots of different of equipment to use.
Positive experience: Good gym that meets your need. Has enough equipment to accommodate any workout
Negative experience: How cool it is McDonald's on deans bridge
Positive experience: First off- they have everything you need to workout for any exercise, the big issue for me is the lack of multiple of the same equipment. For example there is only one cable machine that is operational at this time so it’s constantly being used. Also the quality of certain machines like the chest fly/butterfly machine and the lateral cable row machines are old and don’t feel good to use at all. The lack of platforms and benches is also odd to see in a military gym. Again to reiterate, you can get a decent workout in as long as you snag equipment before someone else and you don’t mind sacrificing quality on certain machines. The Lift-A-Latte Cafe is convenient and a nice addition. Beware that they mark up their energy drinks by A-Latte (lol). I forgot my pre workout so I bought a $2 Reign for $4… convenient but also pricey. I’ll be going to the other gyms on post to see what they offer and leave a review so I can decide what the best gym is for ME.
Positive experience: Nice place to spend time with your friends
Positive experience: Lots of equipment.. Well ventilated!
Positive experience: Always enjoy a good workout!!
Fantastic experience: Best gym on fort gordon by far!
Positive experience: Machines are in working order. A bit crowded at times. Exercise snacks are nice.
Positive experience: Kind staff and lots of equipment!
Fantastic experience: The staff is nice and do a great job maintaining the gym, ensuring it stays clean and sanitary. Good selection of cardio equipment. Free weights, machines and crossfit area.
Fantastic experience: Great gym for an Army gym, lots of equipment and equipment is well taken care of.
Fantastic experience: Really great gym and staff.
Positive experience: Nice place to work out in good selection of machines but staff is not very friendly nor helpful
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing place I love it so much. It was overwhelming the first time I went cause there is just so much. So many machines. Not as many free weights but go during a time thats not too busy and your golden.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing place I love it so much. It was overwhelming the first time I went cause there is just so much. So many machines. Not as many free weights but go during a time thats not too busy and your golden.
Positive experience: Is this gym great? No. Is it terrible? No. It gets the job done, but it is crowded and unfortunately not all patrons wipe the equipment down.
Positive experience: Its got what you need. One power rack, one squat rack, 3 deadlift platforms. No round plates only hex plates. For some reason they have the room with the best equipment for SBD closed. Very strict with the masks which sucks since its a gym.
Positive experience: It has the basics. Wish there was more equipment, have to improvise.. But it gets the job done.
Fantastic experience: Cardo machines, weight machines, and free weights. Very clean and spacious.
Fantastic experience: Excellent
Positive experience: The staff is really nice at check-in. The facility is nice and has multiple squat racks and deadlift platforms. I wish it had a little bit more space and the bathrooms could have more privacy, but it has everything you need to get a good workout.
Fantastic experience: Dope!!!! It's home and sanctuary to get your frustrations and stress out of the way.
Fantastic experience: Get them gains BROTHER!
Fantastic experience: They opened everything but the sauna. Wear a mask and you'll be fine. The equipment is dope and it's only busy in the early morning and right after lunch.
Fantastic experience: It's great to be back in the gym!
Fantastic experience: Clean, good variety of equipment. Hopefully they'll bring back the classes soon.
Fantastic experience: Alot of machines, respectable staff, great selection of workout tools.
Positive experience: They have pretty much everything you need in here for weightlifting, but the free weights section is small and gets crowded during peak hours. Plenty of room and equipment for warm up/cool downs and stretching. Also a decent sized flex space.
Fantastic experience: This gym has all the free weights and bent press sets a soldier can use. Staff is friendly and plenty of room to work out. Plenty of running equipment also.
Fantastic experience: Couldn't stay too long due to wearing the mask while trying to run on the treadmill. That sucks!
Fantastic experience: Clean facility, adheres to guidelines. Friendly staff, nice small selection of workout foods and beverages. 2 sides to workout on, with great tips and information on better health and fitness plans. Layout is simply done and inviting. Great atmosphere, everyone does their own thing with no fuss. Masks mandatory!!
Positive experience: Always clean, staff is welcoming, and scenery is pleasant.
Positive experience: It’s a good gym for Fort Gordon. Just be careful of the “Karen” that works in the morning. She’s very rude and always has a bad attitude.
Fantastic experience: This gym is nice. Big, alot of equipment, great ventilation and very clean
Positive experience: Many equipment to work out for whole body. But Parking lot is in construction.
Positive experience: Has 2 squat racks and 3 benches, other than that, gym has great machines and plenty of dumbbells (up to 150). My gym if choice on base
Positive experience: The staff was courteous and place was clean. There was however quite a few broken machines that are taped off. Also strictest about coming and going during this pandemic, which is good
Fantastic experience: A nice spacious gym with many of the same amenities as gyms off base. I especially love the smoothie bar they have.
Positive experience: Excellent Service
Fantastic experience: Best gym on fort Gordon. Lots of equipment to facilitate any workout you can think of. It gets busy in the evenings, but is relatively dead on the weekends.
Positive experience: Equipment is fine, but frequently too busy.
Fantastic experience: Plenty of Nautilus exercise stations, weight rooms, sauna and everything else needed to stay in good physical condition. Plus the African American lady at the front entrance check in desk in the mornings makes awesome tasting health drinks.
Positive experience: Plenty of wide variety of exercise stations.
Positive experience: This place is amazing. It’s got any machine or weight most people need. It gets pretty busy at the predictable hours. The smoothie bar has a decent selection. I would rate this place 5 stars if it wasn’t for one reason. You might think this is a dumb reason, but I dint feel like it is. There is one older gentleman that dances and sings right in the middle of the walkway. It would bother me less if I couldn’t hear him over my noise cancelling headphones, but o guess I need more than that.
Positive experience: Good gym but needs more benches and squat racks
Fantastic experience: It's a gym
Positive experience: Large gym with plenty of machines. Usually something available even during busy PT hours.
Negative experience: Was 5 stars til they decided to charge for classes. Sorry, the classes are worth it for a free gym. If I've gotta pay, I'll pay someone else. The last Zumba class I attended, they let some amateur (newly certified) with ZERO rhythm take over as instructor. (I was only mildly satisfied with the actual instructor...) but there was this woman flailing around in front of me not even able to keep up with what the regular instructor was doing, and they invited her to lead. It was a trainwreck.
Positive experience: Some of the equipment is old & needs to be replaced BAD. Other than that, not a bad facility!
Positive experience: Enjoy going to workout. It's very clean and the employees are friendly.
Fantastic experience: Great place to work out.
Fantastic experience: Well equipped gym
Positive experience: Has everything you need to get a good workout in, and not to crowded
Positive experience: My favorite one to go to on post.
Negative experience: They need an upgrade
Positive experience: Pro's: Decent quality gym with decent ammount of equipment. Con's: The AIT students trash the bathroom and the staff doesn't seem to care. Everywhere throughout the gym has disorganized weight plates (Ex. 45lb, 5lb, 25lb plates mixed together). The two weight trees are tucked away in the corner next to the leg press, this is pretty stupid placement; it should be centralized. Attendees of the gym should lose privileges for loitering or not putting things away. All in all, it's free. I will be getting an off post membership soon.
Fantastic experience: Amazing place... I changed my entire body in 4 months
Fantastic experience: Great place to get a nice pump in
Fantastic experience: Giant gym with plenty of equipment and specialized rooms for target areas and classes. Lots of cardio machines. Shake bar and good product selection.
Positive experience: I like the gym but people out your dang weights back!!
Positive experience: Good space, not so crowded
Positive experience: Nice gym, doing some remodeling, not all food items and shakes are available yet due to construction. Very nice equipment and friendly people
Positive experience: Pros: Has a good variety of equipment and rooms, staff has always been very friendly Cons: Sauna is co ed and separate from shower areas (big con for me), female bathroom could definitely be cleaner. Overall, good gym.
Fantastic experience: Has everything you need, from free weights, to machines, to showers, to a decent running sauna. A lot better than the other gyms on base
Positive experience: good place to work out . has everything you need. includes additional classes for free like spin and cross fit training. don't forget your id.
Positive experience: Weights all over the place but great gym to get a workout in and get out!!
Fantastic experience: Best gym on base, they have a little of everything.
Positive experience: This gym has everything you need. Cardio machines, free weights, cables, sauna, and even a shake bar. The only issue is that its gets so busy after 5pm that you may not get to use a particular machine. This could mess up your workout so avoid peak hours.
Positive experience: Good gym to do pt at. The staff is friendly and there are wipes to use on the machine's after your done.
Fantastic experience: Amber is the coolest.
