I started doing CrossFit in my sophomore year of high school in 2011 in my high school’s football coach’s garage. I started because I wanted to get in shape for the upcoming softball season. I had played soccer and basketball before, but I quit both sports because they required a lot of cardio endurance. The same thing happened with CrossFit later that year.

After graduating high school and moving to Toledo to get my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, college life got the best of me and I gained weight from drinking and eating whatever I wanted. It wasn’t until my younger sister would come to the same college my senior year that we started going to CrossFit classes again together. That was the push I needed, and this time it stuck and I stayed consistent.

I found my passion for the Olympic lifts while taking classes at Glass City CrossFit in Toledo. I would often find myself on the opposite side of the gym working on my lifting and technique, while the other students did the hour long classes. After graduation, I decided I wanted to get my USA Weightlifting Level 1 certification to teach others who had similar interests in improving their lifts.

I was first introduced to CrossFit during the summer of 2012. I had been competitively swimming for 10 years and was looking for something else to challenge me physically. I had no idea where CrossFit would eventually take me. I was looking for something different than the average cardio and weightlifting machines. In the beginning, I definitely questioned the program, the workouts, and myself. CrossFit’s programs are the opposite of swimming’s programs and it was difficult to adjust to, especially being a woman in the fitness industry. Throughout the years, “thin was in”.

Well, not for me. Muscular shoulders and back was something that would never go away. I initially lacked mental strength. However, the time finally came when I no longer cared what others thought. I now value the emphasis and importance and beauty of being strong and never letting anyone or anything hold me back.

I enjoy CrossFit because it challenges me in multiple ways. I'm constantly learning more about myself, for better or for worse. CrossFit helps us to always strive for new goals and to keep learning and improving. The healthy lifestyle it encourages helps me not just in the gym, but in all areas of my life. My favorite part is being able to help others see the benefits of this lifestyle for themselves.

I discovered CrossFit when I was in my 40s and was looking for a new workout routine. I had been working out with traditional methods since high school, but was getting bored and wasn't seeing much progress. I tried different things like lifting weights at a gym, doing cardio workouts, and kickboxing, but none of them held my interest for long. I had never used a trainer before, so I was excited to try something new.

I met Jordan and Hilary Levin and did a baseline workout. I was hooked because of the variety of workouts, the programming by others, and the friendly but competitive nature of the members. I finally found the workout that will keep my interest for the rest of my life. I saw the need of our Box to have a coaching presence by someone over the age of 40, so I took the level one trainer course and got certified. For the past two years, I have been able to coach and teach others the type of training I found so appealing. I have participated in various CrossFit competitions and have had the pleasure to meet all sorts of athletes from many different boxes around the state. CrossFit really has become a way of life for me, and I am thankful to have found this community and this box with all the great individuals associated with both.

Hillary Levin, like many people, went to the gym inconsistently and without much enthusiasm. It felt like a chore to her, something she had to do in order to make sure she could fit into a certain pair of pants.

She was finally able to find a consistent and focused exercise routine when her husband, Jordan Levin, introduced her to CrossFit.

CrossFit was Hillary's way of finding her true mental and physical potential, confidence, drive and focus. Every day was a new workout that inspired, challenged and pushed her beyond anything she had ever experienced. She found that everything she did in CrossFit could be translated to her every day routine outside of the "Box." It was then that things finally clicked and workouts were no longer a chore, but something that became a much welcomed life style.

I am a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and Registered Yoga Teacher with 200 hours of training. I am also a certified Kettlebell Instructor through IKFF and an approved Indoor Rowing Instructor through UCanRow2. I am qualified in TRX® Suspension Training® and TRX® Group Suspension Training®. I am also Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified in Exercise Nutrition and CPR/AED/First Aid Certified.

Jordan Levin grew up playing a variety of sports including water skiing, windsurfing, snow skiing, baseball, hockey, and gymnastics. His love for sports was influenced by his father, who was also an active athlete.

Jordan's true passion is helping people achieve their best. He learned this through a life that involved significant health issues and a hearing disability that could have easily kept him down and out. Throughout his life, Jordan's parents taught him the meaning of being relentless. Never taking "no" for an answer, and always striving for the best.

Jordan has had a lot of success in his life in spite of many challenges, and now he uses his skills and experience to help other people reach their fitness and health goals. He started CFB in his parents' garage, and it has now grown into an 8000 square foot facility. His coaching style is tough but also caring, and he draws on his own life experiences to help other people achieve their objectives.

Fantastic experience: CrossFit Bloomfield has had a major impact on my life since September 2021. After not exercising for two decades, I finally decided to start at the age of 49. I was only planning to go three days a week, but I was so hooked that I ended up going five days a week at the same time each morning. Jordan and Ryan have created a positive, safe, and structured environment where I get plenty of individual attention to make sure I'm doing things correctly and getting better. I highly recommend CrossFit Bloomfield to anyone.

Fantastic experience: At 54, I was no longer an elite athlete and had grown bored of playing tennis every day. I was hesitant to try CrossFit, but the coaches were able to adjust the exercises and workouts to my abilities. Now, after eight years, I'm still doing it and feeling fantastic!
