Positive experience: I just joined the gym and I do enjoy the equipment and how clean it always is however, the hours are limited on weekends....closing at 2:00pm.

Fantastic experience: The Refinery is an amazing gym, with amazing coaches, and an encouraging community of members. I have been a member since Jan 2024 and I have loved my time with the gym. The facilities are always clean, there are nice gym amenities, the coaches and staff are very professional. I participate in build & burn classes and pure strength classes. No one class has been the same since I started. I highly recommend this gym if any of the things I mentioned are important to you.

Fantastic experience: My first trial build and burn class was great with Chris R and JD.. Workout was tough but manageable for any level of athlete. I join that same night!!

Positive experience: Gym has nice amenities, staff is friendly and keeps the gym clean. I give it 3 starts because for the price, it should offer longer hours and more machines. The latest it opens on a weekday is 8. I live across the street but get off at 5:30 and with Atlanta traffic, I need to rush to make it. On weekends thr latest is 2 pm. I also think it lacks glute machines

Fantastic experience: The Refinery is a great gym to be a member of. The Build and Burn classes are always fun and challenging. The Pure Strength will push you to work hard. With the new updates, the Open Gym doesn’t feel as cramped anymore. The facility is modern, with great equipment, clean locker room/shower facilities, and most importantly, wonderful trainers and staff. A one of a kind gym in the area.

Fantastic experience: Truly a gem of a gym! Trainers are all incredible: knowledgeable, friendly, and dedicated to clientele. The facility itself is not only beautiful, but always spotless. I’m so happy to be a member and am the strongest I’ve ever been for it!

When I first joined, I was given a tour of the gym and was surprised that there wasn't a high-pressured sales pitch at the end. It was very refreshing! The workouts are challenging and offered throughout the day. All of the coaches and staff are very friendly and helpful, I whole heartedly recommend!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I train with Amanda McCurdey at the Refinery. She is a great trainer and keeps us motivated. Working out is very important for us at our age and Amanda keeps us coming back. She is wonderful. The facilities at the Refinery are top drawer. Highly recommend.

This place was super clean before COVID and over the top with the lay out organization flow and general well being for all! The team continually changes up the format exercises drills cardio strength so your mind or your body build muscles!

Positive experience: Build and burn is a great combo of strength training and HIIT. The HIIT part is sometimes a little challenging because it requires box jumps which are hard on my knees but they allow modifications. Otherwise it is a good program.

Negative experience: What a waste of money.. I do not understand why these “fake” gyms are so expensive… why would I ever pay this much money for a group class. I thought orange theory was bad this is so much worse. Shame on you for charging so much money for people to get in shape. This is extortion. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best gym I’ve ever joined for HIIT class training. My career keeps me busy so I enjoy having a one-hour format that takes the guesswork out of my training. I’ve done CrossFit, Orange Theory and F45, and I enjoyed them all. But what’s better here is the variation in the programming, expertise of the staff, and available customization (e.g., exercise modification, weight ranges). The format is very motivating and it is effective. Since going consistently, I’m noticing gains in strength, tone, and flexibility, and my stamina has really improved. Most importantly for me is I see the difference in the mirror. In addition to the class training, they have smaller group and individual-training, as well as open gym (which comes included with any membership level). Good stuff….

Fantastic experience: I’ve exercised and worked out my whole life. I was surprised to continuously learn new exercises week after week. I’m training to climb Kilimanjaro and the personal training I’ve received from Cody has increased my balance, stability and strength in just a few weeks! I highly recommend The Refinery!

I moved to The Refinery and joined with the Build and Burn membership. My body has changed SO much. I’m stronger, leaner and have never felt better. Coaches and staff are amazing and love that you can take a class or do Open gym. Well worth every penny!

Fantastic experience: I just recently started with The Refinery. The trial exceeded my expectations, so I signed up immediately after my second session. The staff is professional, the workouts are challenging, and the location is clean, and the equipment is modern.

Fantastic experience: This is an excellent gym that not only has an open gym but has a Pure Strength class for strength training and Build and Burn class for HIIT workouts. The workouts are very well thought out and effective. I really love how this gym not only has the trainers demonstrate the workouts before class but utilizes innovative technology through the use of LED screens to help guide clients through the workouts. After work, I hardly can remember my name let alone the workout progression so these screens are heaven sent. I really appreciate how the trainers here are the most professional that I have seen in Atlanta and each bring their own uniquely positive energy to each class. That said, as someone who's been in Atlanta over 10 years, this is by far my favorite gym. Don't forget to check out the recovery room. There are times where I almost fell asleep in their massage chairs.

Neal Garner’s knowledge, experience and professionalism combine to create a smart workout that works the whole body in an intense but personalized workout. I’ve never looked forward to my next session to exercise like I do now. I’m feeling better and looking better than in many years. The Refinery offers an atmosphere that is clean and bright and inspiring, and the massage equipment post-training tops off the experience, sending me out the door with a smile on my face! Loving it!

Fantastic experience: The Refinery is probably the best gym I have ever been to. It’s small but mighty. The equipment is top notch. The bio circuit is so freaking cool. Everything is either automated or instructions to make sure it is automated. The classes are amazing! There are all sizes, shapes, and ages. There’s an outdoor part that is secluded so you can enjoy a workout in the beautiful weather. They have every possible amenity you can think of. The gym is constantly being cleaned, throughout the day. Everyone is respectful and professional that comes into the gym. The Recovery Room is my favorite part of the gym. It’s something to look forward to after my workout. The customer service is amazing. Every single person that I’ve encountered they are always saying hi, upbeat, and professional. Shanreka gave me an amazing tour! Robert set me up on the Bio Circuit! Patrick and a few other gentlemen have always said hi when I’m walking into the building. The equipment, atmosphere, experience, and the amenities have sold me on this boutique gym.

Fantastic experience: Well here we go….pretty common story….love/live for cardio/running and for weights, “I have to be in the mood”. So when I wanted the push to do more weightlifting versus running miles, everywhere I turned trainers were charging a monthly house payment AND you still had to get the gym membership. No prob, charge for your craft, but I’ll put that into my vacation home. LOL The Refinery had me after the second class (despite almost regurgitating-lol). It is a cool, modern, CLEAN, inclusive, nonjudgemental, helpful, but more importantly a motivating workout space. Started with 9 “Build & Burn” classes a month, short lived - I needed unlimited baby!! Bring on the weights AND cardio!! Never a dull class or group, and I’m pleased with the investment. Thanks to all the Coaches and Mgmt - you are wonderful! It’s worth it! #investinyou #transformation

Fantastic experience: Great gym/ studio!! I’m using the free trial and I have a health condition Laura and Eva worked really close with me encouraged me to push myself but also slow down when I need to and work on my form. It was a small class size of 6 people at 9:15 on a Friday.

Fantastic experience: Amazing complex with great staff. If you are looking for a place with amazing follow along classes or somewhere to just work out on your own, I can't recommend it enough. Everyone here always has a smile on their face and is more than happy to take a second to help, offer advice, show how something works, etc. Plus, the people who go have great gym etiquette. Things are where they are supposed to be, weights are reracked in the correct places, there are not 100 people with phones on tripods trying to start a fitness influencer page. TL:DR, Great gym, great staff, join!

Fantastic experience: Since joining The Refinery, I have truly had an amazing experience. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, the cleanliness of the facility is impeccable and the classes are top notch! Trainers are motivating, supportive and easy to engage with. I also love the quality and variety of equipment- keeps the workouts interesting! As a former personal trainer, I look for all these qualities combined to create a good member experience - happy to say The Refinery team does that well!

Fantastic experience: I completed the second of my free workouts today. To say it was challenging would be an understatement - having been less active for the past two years (), these workouts SHOCKED my system is such good ways. I took the Build&Burn class and both classes were well explained: one trainer would perform the exercise while the other trainer explained it. There are also instructional video screens that loop the movements of the workout. The music was great - it kept me going! I needed a few modifications and the staff was more than willing to show me what move to do instead. The Refinery is a “level up” gym that has top notch equipment and spaces, clean and spa like bathrooms (this is important!), and encouraging, knowledgeable and motivational trainers. I joined today after my free workouts!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to gyms for years and this is by far the best gym i’ve been to. They have really nice equipment and trainers that know what they’re doing. The only downside is that they aren’t strict about mask mandates.

Fantastic experience: Went to see Dr Forrester for my shoulder as she came highly recommended, I walked in with having the pain for over a month and with 3 hrs with her I was pain free and felt so good . If you ever need someone to fix you she's the one.

Fantastic experience: The staff at the refinery helped turn my life around, to say anything less would be a disservice. I’ve always struggled with my weight; coupled with injuries I’ve accrued having spent years as a college and professional athlete. My wife, who is also a physical therapist, found the refinery and was impressed by how the trainers biographies opened with their credentials; one the most professionally qualified training staffs in the metro area. She pushed me to go there, and since I started the trainers have always worked with me and helped me work past my limitations providing me individualized options even in large group settings. The staff is professional and kind, no one ever makes me feel less than for all my short comings and every class, no matter who is coaching, is taught by someone who loves to be there and loves to see their clients motivate and work hard. Even when I was stuck in a rut the staff there always encouraged me to see a doctor, to find the best, most healthy solution and to keep training and pushing forward. It didn’t matter if I was struggling with my diet, with injuries, or just struggling the staff at the refinery always is there every time I come to class to give their support and superior work ethic; I truly believe in my heart they care for their clients and if you are looking to get fit in a clean and caring environment there is no better choice in the Atlanta metro area than the refinery.

Fantastic experience: I was a hard core Orange Theory member for years. At some point, the classes became repetitive and I started to get bored. I took both a build and burn class and a pure strength class at the Refinery and never looked back. The classes are challenging and creative. Their customer service is always A1. The coaches and whole staff really love their jobs and it shows. You would be crazy not to join this gym. The energy is contagious.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely loved this boutique gym and wished we had something similar in the Bay Area. I was visiting my daughter and we did a Friday morning 9 AM Build and Burn class and I LOVED It! Fabulous instructors, felt very comfortable and was impressed with the entire set-up.

Fantastic experience: Great staff and a responsive team that listens to their members. They've taken and incurred expenses to remain open through covid and provide effective, practical safeguards. The equipment is all top notch and if they don't have something you need ownership is responsive in getting it ordered and adding it to the equipment. One of the few gyms with a legit outdoor turf training area with sleds and other field equipment which is some of the most effective legwork you can do. Also for members who go to work after they have great clean locker rooms, clean showers and disposables.

Fantastic experience: I was skeptical about joining and paying for a gym, but Refinery is worth every penny! Last winter I hurt my back at work and had lost a lot of my confidence in my body’s ability to heal and do my job to the best of my ability again. I started going to Refinery in August and I’ll never look back! All the trainers at Refinery have empowered me to push myself and find a confidence that has truly allowed my body to feel better than it has in over 6 months. I always leave feeling challenged! And the trainers are fun, kind, meet you where you’re at, and push you when you need it. Such a great community!

Fantastic experience: I can not say enough positive things about the Refinery and the people who make it worth while to go to. The programming of workouts and the creativity that goes into making them is astonishing. Especially when it came to working around the covid situation. So much outside the box thinking! Knowledgeable doesn’t even begin to describe the staff. The knowledge they exude paired with their caring and fun personalities make going worth while. I would give this gym 20 stars if I could. There is honestly nothing that compares. I drive 45 min just to go there and I don’t regret it for one minute. I feel privileged to workout there and work with the best of the best.

Fantastic experience: November 2020 my wife purchased a 1 month gift card to Refinery for my birthday. I said, "why?" We're in the middle of a pandemic and the last place I want to be is inside a fitness facility on a daily basis. I planned on cancelling in December 2020. Needless to say, it's June 2021 and I'm still a member and I LOVE it. They had really good Covid protocols in place for members safety, super clean, everyone is nice, the classes they teach really push your fitness level up. I love working out in their outside area in the back. It's the best fitness facility I've ever worked out at on a regular basis. They really keep the facility clean by wipping down the equipment several times a day. LOVE IT. God willing I keep my job so I can keep my membership and burn off some unwanted weight.

Fantastic experience: The facility and trainers are all fabulous. I take the group classes and love them. They have many different types of memberships- I just need classes to stay accountable and have someone make sure my form is right. The locker room is amazing, showers are clean and they have toiletries and towels (which is fantastic). They even provide bags to throw stinky workout clothes in so they don’t stink up your gym bag! They’re transparent about pricing and listen to feedback, making changes when appropriate. I’m so glad I joined!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been working out at the Refinery for 5 months. I highly recommend it. The equipment is new, the whole place is extremely clean and the instructors are very knowledgeable. There are people at all fitness levels here and the instructors have gone out of their way to help me make modifications, so that I can work out even with a repaired hip labrum. Pure strength is my favorite class and you should try it if you want to tone and get stronger!
