- Friendly staff - Users express appreciation for the helpful and welcoming staff, creating a positive community vibe.
- Convenient location - Situated within the bustling Ponce City Market, members enjoy easy access to parking and nearby amenities.
However, it's worth noting some challenges that have been brought up:

- Consistency with opening hours - Some users have experienced issues with staff availability during early morning hours, leading to frustration.
- Volume of music - Feedback indicates that the music can be quite loud, impacting members' personal workouts and conversations.

The Forum Athletic Club: Opinions

Positive experience: Nice facility in a convenient location, but if you need reliable access to the core workout equipment area, look elsewhere. The classes will boot you out and it stinks not being able to do the workout you spent time planning when you come to the gym.
Fantastic experience: Clean
Thank you for your 5-star review, Aieya!
Negative experience: I like the gym and it’s within walking distance for me. I’ve been a member since it opened…….but it’s becoming harder to stay. There’s strong demand for gyms in the PCM area (massive amount of development and apartment dwellers); the forum is really the only gym. Overcrowding on weeknights is extreme. A week night chest workout involves doing presses with five or six folks standing nearby watching you, hoping it’s your last set and wanting to grab the bench before someone else. I’ve tried going in the morning, but staff seems pretty casual about opening hours. They technically open at 5am; today I waited 50 mins, as no one showed up to open the gym until ten mins until 6am. I feel like staff and management don’t get overly concerned about current member service / satisfaction, as new members sign up daily given the population growth in area. I mentiined the late open to the guy at the front desk this AM…..he said “it happens - we’re open now - go workout” Update: I dropped the Operations Manager a note about the pattern of late openings. Her response was an explanation on how hard it is find good help, staff is often not reliable, “openers” are hard to find, etc. She offered to credit my account for a one day prorated share of my weekly membership cost. The fact that this lady thinks $2 ($14 per week / 7 days) is adequate consideration for an hour of my time wasted probably explains a lot about why she struggles to find reliable staff…….. I’ve been a member here for eight years (paid probably $6K in dues since joining), stuck it out as a customer through the pandemic, and pay $3.60 per hour for parking multiple times per week (the gym only validates parking for one 2 hour visit each day)…….and the net valuation they place on my satisfaction as a customer is $2. That’s awesome.
Hi Brad. Thank you for voicing your concerns. We have been working on the above issues. Our expansion (doubling the space!) should be complete by end of August! Yay! This should eliminate the overcrowding issue and give everyone more space to work out. We are also adding more equipment - benches, machines, squat racks, etc. to meet our members' work out needs. Peek hours will definitely continue to be after work/evening times but we are hoping between the expansion and more machines, we can eliminate the overcrowding concern. As for the mornings, we have hired many new employees the past few weeks and our TFAC Operations Manager is returning to PCM in person until we can hire a full time manager to keep up with staff and keep hiring/training new employees as needed to hopefully help the staffing issue. However, as back up, we have now added a lock box that holds the key to our facilities outside of our PCM location so that if an employee does not show up due to unreliability or due to circumstances out of their control, a member can call Lenox and retrieve the code so that they can enter and let other members in! This should make it where your work outs are never hindered and where there are no disagreements in the future on what refund is fair or satisfactory. As for parking, we are the only business in all of PCM that our patrons receive 2 hours free parking. The rest of the businesses' patrons and employees must pay to park at PCM. We, unfortunately, do not have any power in offering you more parking time but worked into our leasing contract with PCM the 2 hours in hopes that that would be the average amount of time our members would use our facilities per day. Hopefully you can understand that there are certain things out of our control that we hope you will not hold against us in your review :)We hope that once you have seen and experienced these changes/solutions first hand, you will consider changing your review. Please feel free to email our operations manager, Simone if any other issues arise or the above solutions are not being met in any way - [email protected] you!
Negative experience: Clean gym. Overcrowded at peak times. Don’t go here if you like listening to your own music. They blast their own - usually some version of RAP to where I can’t hear my music over their speakers.
Hi Lauren! Thank you for taking the time to review. For the crowding issue, we are actually in the middle of construction to expand by end of August (doubling our space!) so that should remedy the crowding issue! As for the music, we just addressed staff on the music volume protocol and now have it at a set volume so that this does not continue to be an issue. We hope you will visit after the expansion and consider changing your review to a 5-star! Thank you.
Negative experience: In walking distance but doesn’t have the amenities the other locations do like a sauna. The size is also small. But the guys that go are hot
Hi Daniel! Thank you for taking the time to review. We are actually at the end stages of expanding (doubling our space!) so this should fix the size and crowd issue. We also plan on expanding the mens and womens locker rooms and adding a sauna to each! We hope you will come back and visit once these 2 items have been addressed and consider giving us a 5-star review after! Thank you!
Negative experience: The gym it self if good and I have had no issues with the facility or staff while I was going there, my only issues came when I tried to cancel my membership. I first tried to cancel in person, then I was told I needed to email customer service. So I did, two weeks ago by and no response and I am still getting billed. So I go back to the gym and share my situation. They apologize and tell me to email again and someone will respond and they will refund me the additional changes. So I tried again to email customer service and another two weeks go by and no response and still getting charged weekly. So I go back to the gym and again they apologize and this time they remove my credit card from my account so I don't get charged and ask me again to email customer service, so I do yet again. I have still have not heard from customer service but now I get weekly emails saying I don't have credit card on my account lol This is not how to run a business I hope someone from the leadership form the forum gym reads this and reached out to me as I have asked for a manager to contact me the two times I have gone back to the gym to cancel and I have yet to have a manager or anyone one from customer service contact me.
Hi there! This is Simone, TFAC operations manager. This is not an issue that should be occurring and I apologize for the inconvenience. We are a no hassle gym and our cancelations are done within 3-5 business days and an email confirmation sent. Please forward all emails you have sent to customer service to me and I will make sure your membership is canceled and you are refunded from the day your first email was sent. I would cancel it now but I cannot figure out your name with us based on your Google username. My email is [email protected] - I will be on the look out so we can get this taken care of quickly!
Fantastic experience: One of my favorite gyms in the city of Atlanta. Love their fast twitch sessions and the coaches. Will come back whenever I visit Atlanta again.
Thank you for the review, Vivian!
Fantastic experience: I love the Fast Twitch class and great customer service
Thank you, Ali! We love our Fast-Twitch fam!
Positive experience: Can get overcrowded in the mornings on the weekdays but people are very nice so never much of an issue sharing equipment
Hi Bowen! Thank you for your review and feedback! We have been working on the issue of overcrowding at our facilities for awhile now. We took away all discounted membership pricing away over a year ago and have worked on expanding for years! We have started construction for our expansion this month! Yay! So this should not be an issue once construction is complete end of Summer 2024! We hope that knowing that this will resolve in future, you will consider changing your review now or at least once expansion is complete. Please let us know if there is any feedback we can accomplish in the mean time to receive a 5 Star sooner! Thank you.
Positive experience: Equipment is good, but the gym is so crowded that you often have to wait in a self-formed *queue* for a bench (or squat rack).
Hi There! Thank you for your review and feedback! We have been working on the issue of overcrowding at our facilities for awhile now. Positive experience: The gym is not bad at all, however it's insanely crowded and in such a small space. It's honestly overwhelming. Staff and equipment are nice though.
Hi Noah! Thank you for your review. In case you have not heard, we have construction starting the next month to expand our facilities (doubling the space). It should be complete by end of Summer 2024! We are so looking forward to this resolving our overcrowding issue. This is something that his been in the works for the last 2+ years. As of last year, we removed all discounted memberships and are looking to further the solution temporarily until the expansion. We hope you will consider our efforts and change your review. If not now, we hope you will do it when we expand. Thank you for your time and for visiting us!
Negative experience: Head’s up if you book a guest pass online - while it doesn’t say anywhere online, you have to have a member join you in order to get. I was traveling for work and very excited just to use a treadmill for 30 minutes. Woke up early and drove over and paid for parking to be turned away at the door. They need to have better options for people this happens to, or fix the language on their website.
Hi Kristy! Thank you for letting us know about your experience. We actually do offer guest passes for the day and for the week depending how long clients are visiting. Also, parking at this location is included - you get 2 hours free if you park in the lower deck of PCM and type in your license plate on our iPad inside. We are so sorry for this misinformation and wish to reconcile it with a free 7 day pass next time you are in town. Please email our operations manager, Simone to receive your 7 day pass - [email protected] .
Negative experience: Fix the sauna
All saunas are fixed and functioning at the Lenox and Halcyon locations! Although PCM has never had a sauna due to space, we have plans to install them there in 2024 when we expand! Please feel free to contact me directly with any other questions or concerns and we hope with the issue being resolved that you will change your review! - [email protected] CearleyTFAC Operations Manager
Fantastic experience: Outstanding place to workout!!
Thank you for the 5-star review, Mike!
Fantastic experience: One place to work OUT
Thank you for your 5 star review!
Fantastic experience: Love the overall environment and the owner is really good at coaching classes.
Thank you for the 5-star review, Neil!
Negative experience: Finding parking is a huge pain. There are days you will drive around the parking lot for 20 minutes, depending on when you come. Because of it's location you seriously have to schedule your workouts around PCM peak hours.
Hi Yelizaveta! We are sorry that parking has been difficult but hope you will consider that the parking is out of our control as a business and encourage you to reach out to PCM about the issue! Fortunately, the deck that is currently being built on the Ponce de Leon side of PCM will relieve a lot of this issue! We hope that you will consider basing your review on our business as a whole based on what we offer in our facilities, our staff, and our price point! Please let me know if you would like to discuss directly and I can give you more information on parking - [email protected] CearleyTFAC Operations Manager
Positive experience: Not a bad gym and it is a bit small for me. I still perfer the one at Halcyon but it has everything you need.
Hi Ian! Thank you for your review. We are now in the process of expanding (doubling our space)! We hope you will consider giving a 5 star review now that we will be a bigger space! Thank you for the consideration!
Negative experience: Fair price for the space, however there's a few issues. If there's more than one staff at the desk they'll completely ignore you. I just got a parking ticket since their free parking license plate tablet hasn't worked correctly for weeks. Ditto for the second water fountain.
Hey there! I am sorry to hear that staff has not been attentive at the front desk! This is not our standard and I have addressed this issue with them. If you wouldn't mind emailing me, I can look up your visits and address it with the staff member specifically so that they can improve. As for parking tickets, if the iPad is not working and you have checked in, I can email PCM parking your visit history so they can remove your parking ticket. Email me and I am happy to help with this! [email protected] [email protected]
Fantastic experience: The best gym in the neighborhood. My gym of choice for 7 years. Small though. And missing a handful of things to make it truly great. Dump the mirrors and TVs!
Hi Chad! Thank you for the 5 star review! We love our members! Update on space: We have finalized our deal to expand so get ready for more room in 2024!
Positive experience: I can make do with the small space and there not being a completely full-array of equipment. I cannot make do with the lights being turned off for an extended amount of time right before close. It is dangerous and could very easily get someone hurt. GREAT for the location, though.
Hi Tyler! Thank you for the feedback. I have messaged my staff personally to ensure that lights are being turned off at closing time (9:30pm during the week, 7pm on weekends) AFTER they have gone around and given a warning of that we close soon before that time. I am so sorry for this inconvenience and appreciate you letting me know. As for the small space - although we cannot do anything about it immediately, we have finalized our deal for an expansion! YAY! So we will have more space for you guys in 2024! More news on exact dates to come. We hope that in a few weeks when the lights thing is no longer happening, that you will consider changing your review. You can also email me directly if you have any other suggestions - [email protected] Thanks!
Positive experience: Overall, this is a solid gym for most people. However, it is extremely busy. Be prepared to wait for equipment at peak hours.
Hi Jacob! Great news: we just confirmed our deal to double our space! Yay! This will absolutely fix the waiting for equipment issue and hopefully you will consider giving us a 5 star then (or sooner knowing we have been working on this issue for awhile now and have so many more positives as a business than negatives; such as, awesome staff, great equipment, a clean gym, an awesome location, and more!). Let us know if there’s anything else we can do to boost your review!
Positive experience: I went to get a tour of the place and I couldn’t even hear what the guy was saying because the music was extremely loud. He suggested we move to the front to discuss pricing and such but it was still super loud. I decided to tour myself since I couldn’t hear him. The lack of wanting to recruit more people was astonishing to me. No effort. I went at 11am on a Thursday and it was very busy considering how small the space is. I was going to do a trial but couldn’t stand the amount of people/ loud music so I left after 5min of being there. It was overwhelming.
Hi Adriana! I am so sorry that your experience was poor. Please know that we try to balance the music where it is loud enough that people can work out without hearing too much slamming or noises from others through out their work out but should be at a level where we can talk in a normal volume and be able to hear each other. I have addressed with staff to keep the volume at the level agreed on from management and not to adjust it to their own personal liking. As for the space, we just got approval for an expansion so we hope you will reconsider in 2024 when we have more space (or even before then). This will help greatly with the crowd/congestion on the floor. For now, we suggest that if you are able, to visit from 8am-11am and 1pm-4pm to avoid crowds if you schedule permits it! I would love to give you a free 7 day pass to try it out and then decide. Email me by July 15th and I am happy to set that up for you - [email protected] Simone CearleyTFAC Operations Manager
Negative experience: Raise the dues. Way too many people in this gym without enough equipment or room for all of them. It's a wonderful gym w/ great staff but just way too crowded given the size. You're forced to wait for everything during most times unless you go during some odd time.
Hi Marko! Thank you for your feedback. As a temporary fix, we are currently going through our discounted memberships from deals when we opened and upping those dues to our standard rate to help with some of this. As far as long term, we just received confirmation that we will be expanding in 2024! YAY! This will remove the overcrowding issue right away! Until then, we only have so much control over that and hope you will consider changing your review based on our staff, equipment and gym quality, and our price point. Please let me know if you have any direct questions/concerns! Simone CearleyOperations [email protected]
Positive experience: Great hours, solid amount of equipment for a relatively small space. Hard to beat $12/week for anything in Midtown Updating here bc I can't reply to owners comment below: The gym would be perfect if you added a small dry sauna!
Hi Jordan! Thank you for your review - Wanted to reach out and see what we could do to make it a 5 star?! FYI We have now finalized our deal to expand so this will relieve the small space situation!
Negative experience: As a professional athlete, definitely not that great of a gym. Lacks variety, parking situation is absurd and weekly memberships, not monthly like most gyms. Definitely don't recommend of all places in Atlanta especially for professionals who are short on time and always on the go
Hi There! Thank you for your feedback. Our gym is actually owned by 2 previous NFL players so when selecting equipment, we have always been complimented for getting the best brands of machines and the most beneficial. Do you mind letting me know what equipment we are missing so we can consider purchasing items/machines that can help our clients meet their fitness goals? Unfortunately, the parking situation is beyond our control but there is a new parking deck finishing up this year that will relieve this situation immediately. Lastly, the reason we do weekly memberships instead of monthly is for our members' benefit. This allows clients to cancel whenever he/she wants so that they do not have to pay for a full month before their membership cancels like most gyms. We also allow members to cancel immediately with no fees and a 3-5 day response time. We hope you will consider the above/ let us know what equipment you are specifically looking for and reconsider your review! Happy to talk directly as well if you want to reach out via email.Simone CearleyTFAC Operations [email protected]
Negative experience: Wouldn’t let be try out a day before signing. Staff offered to charge me $20 for a day pass. Ridiculous.
Hi Brandon - we recently changed our policy to first visit $10 with a GA license. We are happy to always roll in the pass you purchase into your enrollment fee when you sign up. I hope you understand that for security reasons, we can no longer allow a first visit without a purchase. We hope you will reconsider trying our facilities in the future and assessing our gym as a whole instead of one policy that we have implemented due to safety concerns for our visitors and members. Thank you!
Negative experience: Unfortunately what was once a great gym has gone downhill with way too many members. Almost impossible to find a time when it’s not extremely overcrowded
Hi Stephen! We are sorry that the overcrowding has changed your experience with us. We are happy to announce that we have confirmation that we are expanding in 2024! This will thankfully relieve the overcrowding issue immediately! YAY! In the mean time, we hope you will reconsider your review and base it on some of the things we do have control over like customer service, machine and gym quality, cleanliness, etc. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email me directly!Simone CearleyTFAC Operations [email protected]
Positive experience: It would be improved with a sauna like it’s buckhead location and more of each machine. However, it’s a lovely intimate gym with great people and a good variety of machines !
Hi Shaz! Thank you for the feedback. Great news! - We are expanding and installing saunas in 2024! We hope this will change your review to a 5 star! Thank you!
Negative experience: Called to inquire about personal training and was instructed to email a manager. I did, and over 24hrs later I have no response. Called again and I’m told she’ll respond in 3-5 business days. No there’s no manager you can talk to. LOL ok UPDATE: Go to the training collective in Inman Park. A little more expensive but well worth it. Everyone is nice and, most importantly, helpful. Facility is nice too.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to The Forum gym for over a year and it’s honestly one of the best. It’s not pretentious, you have people of all ages and backgrounds that work out there. I’ve made a several new friends that work at the gym and just go there to improve their overall health. I love it.
Thank you for the review, Rhonda!
Fantastic experience: Update: Now that I've tried other open gyms. I miss this gym. New, clean and good vibe. I like this gym only when the capacity is upto 70%.after that it gets chaotic usually during these rush hours between 5-7pm in winters I mean like every machine gets occupied and you'll have to hold your rush before you move onto the next. Sometimes fast twitch becomes suffocating and humid. The facility is clean and the staff are friendly. Would recommend only if you live in the area.
Thank you for your feedback. We are working on getting more space as we have picked up a lot these last 6 months. Although it can get crowded at that after work time, we have tried to create an environment where patrons can ask other patrons to work in and hope you will do so!
Positive experience: Small, but great gym with all the equipment a fitness junkie would ever need. However, I think the gym is a victim of its own success. The gym is now very very crowded in the morning and it's almost impossible to find space to lift. A 1 hour workout now takes me over 90 minutes to complete. There is always a wait for the squat racks and waiting for a spot to bench press takes even longer. I hope management will address the problems caused by this increase membership soon, but I am actively looking for another gym in the area in the meantime.
Thank you for the review and appreciate your feedback! We have tried to get more space but have been unsuccessful. We have removed our discounts to help with the problem of overcrowding in the evening and are brainstorming other ideas. We completely understand your concern and hope you will consider coming outside our busy evenings to ensure you are getting the most out of your visit.
Fantastic experience: Small gym with great equipment. Never had an issue here unlike other gyms I’ve been to.
Positive experience: No one wears a mask at this gym. I am one of three on average out of 50 in the AM crowd. Just be aware of that if you join. No clue why they don’t take masking seriously. Other responses to reviews similar to mine say they follow GA policy but to be clear masks are not at all enforced. Nor is social distancing. They have bare-minimum signs around saying to keep a distance but that is near impossible with the amount of machines and people at the gym. Not sure about their cleaning schedule. They offer a spray and some towels but there seems to be just one spray bottle for the entire gym. Also it is usually packed but has not been an issue in terms of me finishing my workout.
Hi Trisha - we are sorry that we have not met your expectations when it comes to mask wearing but we allow our clients to wear or not wear a mask if they so choose. We hope the rest of the facility, equipment, staff, and environment is something of value to you as well.
Fantastic experience: Great facility and Patrick at guest relations was awesome.
We so appreciate the review and for complimenting our staff!
Fantastic experience: Love it here!
Thank you for the review!
Fantastic experience: Great place
Hi Curtis! Thanks so much for the awesome review!
Fantastic experience: Clean
Hi Gregory! Thank you for the 5-star review and comment - We so appreciate you taking the time!
Fantastic experience: Great!
Thank you for the review, Sam!
Negative experience: Very poorly managed staff. Very improper and weak health and safety protocols in place. Don’t be fooled. The Olympic lifting setup and policy is a joke. EDIT. You literally put your hands ungloved less than 1 inch from peoples mouth to take their temperature. You're literally creating new germ interactions and making your clients sick. If you need to be told these things you are clueless about what goes on in your gym.
Hi There - We are sorry that your experience was not what you expected. Our cleaning protocols are what are the GA Gov mandated upon reopening. We have always been a clean gym with 8 man hours of professional cleaning per days as well as cleaning by front desk staff at shift change and after classes. Since reopening - we have added more cleaning to our schedule that include disinfecting surfaces and equipment through out the day. Will you please be more specific on what weak health and safety protocols are in place so we are aware of anything getting missed? We appreciate your feedback!
Negative experience: Great gym but PLEASE turn the music down. I can't hear my podcast or music not to mention have a conversation with someone. And come on, people have headphones they don't need to be blasted. :( I'll change my review when this changes. Don't know why but it started a couple months ago.
Hi Null! We have decided on a level to keep the music and have informed staff not to adjust it from what we have it set at moving forward. Although this was already a verbal standard among staff, we have added a physical sign as a reminder to our staff. Hopefully this volume will suffice! Keep in mind that there can be lots of noise from weights, group classes going on, conversation, and individual exhaustion so we like to have music to drown out the many different background noises. Please email us directly if you would like to discuss further ([email protected]) and we hope that enforcing the volume now will change your review :)
Fantastic experience: Went here for two years and loved this gym. Very reasonably priced and no contracts or annual fees. I unfortunately moved but would highly recommend this gym. For those of you concerned about COVID, just avoid peak hours and it's not a problem at all
Thank you, Andrew!
Positive experience: Been a member since they opened -- still going great. My husband was a member but dropped off because he didn't use it enough. Cancelling his account was SO easy. Always clean. Nice and Bright too. Wish they had more stretching mats though (only 3 so mostly always taken in the mornings). Dropped a point for COVID stuff - No one wears masks- at all. I know most ppl are vaccinated now, but they don't require or ask for us to state whether we are vaccinated and due to space limitations it's a lot of close up heavy breathing and I don't even work out in the fast-twitch room where everyone is on top of each other! Although most people who come are in the younger/fit/city demographic I would hope would be vaccinated, not knowing the % of members who are means I can only go at the worst times of day because that's when I hope folks won't get on machines next to me. I'm considering joining a different gym for the next year.
Glad your experience has been a breeze with canceling and utilizing our facilities - We have several mats in the Fast-Twitch room that you can use in there when classes are not going on in the future! Thank you for your feedback!
Fantastic experience: Hands down one of the most impressive gyms in ATL! Awesome selection of equipment and memberships are reasonably priced. Customer service is also great. Calls and emails are responded to quickly and they do a great job keeping members informed.
Thank you for the review Maya!
Fantastic experience: Great gym with good classes. Equipment is always clean as is the bathrooms / locker rooms. Can get a bit crowded but I never really have to wait for a machine. I heard through the grapevine that they may be expanding.
Hi Neil! Thank you for your review, we are so happy to have you a part of our TFAC fam!
Negative experience: I joined the Forum about a month ago. I've enjoyed being able to use a gym again, however I am appalled at the sheer ignorance and cognitive dissonance employed by both patrons and staff at the Forum. When entering the gym, the staff does not bother to wear masks. In the hour- hour and a half I spend working out there, I don't see the staff follow through on any of the "extra cleaning precautions" they claim to make. I understand it may not be possible for them to mandate masks for patrons, but at least spreading out their equipment and mandating staff to wear masks to help people feel more safe would be wildly beneficial. I like going here but unfortunately with how careless they are about COVID I won't be returning.
Hi Marcelle - I am sorry that your experience was not up to your standards. Please know that video footage has been checked and the cleaning schedule is being followed closely. Please keep in mind that when looking at your individual visits, you often visit at lower volume check in times that are either after or right before when we do our cleaning checklist. Along with cleaning at shift changes and after classes, we have 8 man hours of professional cleaning through out the day and after hours professional cleaning to prepare for the following business day.We have followed what is GA Gov mandated and switched to contactless check in so that our staff would not be in close contact with/proximity of clients. This way - we allow our staff the same dignity of self responsibility that we allow our clients. We are sorry to see you go but understand that you must do what is best for you. If you decide to return, you are welcome back anytime!
Fantastic experience: Relatively large gym inside Ponce City Market (well practically). The gym is open at full capacity, though I've never seen it get too busy. Masks are optional. They do a great job keeping the facilities clean. Per other reviews, the music is a little louder than normal gyms, but not obnoxious. Parking is validated if you are a member.
Thank you for your review, William! We appreciate your feedback!
Fantastic experience: Good equipment and classes
Thank you for your review, Robert!
Fantastic experience: Brandon's classes are always amazing. Huge focus on form
Thanks Renee! Our Fast-Twitch classes are a huge part of TFAC and our instructors really make the class. We love our FT fam!
Negative experience: Very poor COVID-19 precautions. Before COVID The Forum was a pretty solid gym overall and a great one for the price. Plenty of equipment for the volume of users, not the cleanest gym I've used but clean *enough*. Staff was limited, sometimes a little spacey (i.e. just watching videos behind the counter), but friendly and responsive when I needed them. When COVID hit they of course closed. I awaited to see what precautions they would take. I finally received the emails with details, waited to see some photos on social about how they were handling things, and decided to go back today at an off hour to see how it was. Now let me break this into two reviews, for those who do and don't support mask usage at a gym. FOR THOSE WHO SUPPORT MASKS. Masks are not required at the Forum. It's a bit deceptive too, because the first door you walk through (in the Ponce City parking lot) states masks are required. However the door to The Forum itself only says "Masks recommended". Staff had masks, patrons were maybe at 30% mask usage. This is a bummer, partially because of the reasons I will outline below for those who don't support requiring masks but still want to feel safe. FOR THOSE WHO DON'T SUPPORT MASKS BUT WANT TO FEEL SAFE. I found the Forum's policies to be a whole lot of lip service. Here's a breakdown of what I saw them do right and wrong. RIGHT: * Temperature check on check-in. * Provide hand sanitizer at the check-in counter. * Close down every other cardio machine to encourage some distance WRONG: * Did not actually rearrange any of the other equipment. Many machines are within 6' of each other. * They did not add any new sanitization stations like they said they would (unless you count adding a bottle of hand sanitizer at the front counter). All they did was drop down a couple plastic spray bottles of cleaners at the existing wipe downs stations, which were relatively few to begin with. * One of the sanitization stations is so close to one of the cable stations. If someone is doing rows their head is basically 2' away from the sanitizer bottle and towels. * They did not rearrange weight plates for power racks. Most of the plates are in a tight corner of the main gym floor, which requires power rack users to walk past each other well within 6' to grab plates. In my 30minutes at a rack maybe half a dozen heavy breathing unmasked people walked within 6' of me. I would expect them to move the plate stands somewhere more central and/or add a second plate stand so users don't need to move through such tight areas to get plates (honestly this would be nice even outside of COVID times). * They claim to be cleaning equipment regularly, but during the 90 minutes I was there, I did not see anyone come by to clean any of the equipment once. Meanwhile I saw 4 people cycle through the same power rack, and only two of them bothered to clean it either before or after they used it. * Also on claiming to be cleaning equipment regularly, I am someone who usually wipes down equipment before use, even before COVID and even at upscale gyms that would clean their equipment every 15min or less. At those upscale gyms, wipe downs would generally produce a wipe with little to no residue. When I was doing this at the forum, there was always some brown residue, which pre-COVID, was whatever. That said, from this informal test today, my wipes were coming out just as dirty brown as they ever did at the Forum, which is not confidence inspiring for how frequently or well they are cleaning their equipment. * In the men's bathroom, they did not block off the middle sink or urinal, meaning no distancing is enforced in the restroom. CONCLUSION: (A) Do the simple and lowest cost option of just requiring masks for all members. OR (B) Don't require masks but put in the effort to actually ensure safe guidelines like 6' distancing and sanitization is happening to the rigor to guarantee safety for members.
Hi Skylar - Thank you for your feedback! Our operations manager emailed you because our response was too lengthy and not within the max word requirement by Google. A few points that we would like to cover here are the following:- The rules and regulations we have implemented align with the GA gov mandate and we have also added several more to maintain a healthy and clean gym.- Pre and post Covid, we have a cleaning service that cleans 8 hours per day/7 days per week. Our front desk staff does regular disinfecting throughout the day (after classes, before and after prime busy times, and during shift changes so that one person can clean while the other employee maintains the desk). When you arrived at 11:30am on Monday, there had been a wipe down after the group class at 7:30am, after the next group class at 10am, and then at the shift change at 11am. You were informed upon your arrival that cleaning was happening while you were checking in due to a shift change. The floor dies down in the afternoon so we typically clean between 1pm and 3pm then again at 5:30pm, 7pm, and lastly we do a fogger with cleaning solution and final sanitation after hours.- When it comes to mask wearing and our recommendation to wear them, we simply do not know each members’ medical history and do not feel it is wise to require an individual to wear a mask that can restrict breathing while exercising.- Our PCM location is a total of 11,000 sqft and we actually added 2 extra sanitation stations and added 2 disinfectant bottles to each station so that multiple people could use them at once. Each disinfectant station is within 10-20 steps from each area. Station 1 is at the entrance in front of the row of upper body machines and to the side of the benches and free weight area. Station 2 is in front of the cardio deck and 7-10 steps from our stretching area. Station 3 is on the column in front of the cables and to the side of the squat racks and lower body machines. Station 4 is located in the Fast-Twitch room right when you walk through the double doors to use on anything throughout the room. This totals to 8 disinfectant bottles on the floor and then we have 1-2 behind the desk for our front desk staff’s use.- Although we are following the GA gov mandates and have added several of our own precautions, we are absolutely considering some of your suggestions like moving the plates to a more spacious area so that individuals are not crowded into one corner. We have signs to members to maintain 6 ft and expect for our members to follow them accordingly which can mean that if someone is already at a station, they will need to utilize a different area until they are done. If this is not being followed, we encourage you to inform the front desk immediately so that a client can be made aware of maintaining 6 ft at all times.- A few points to consider are that 1) the CDC has now reported that covid is not being transferred easily through surfaces like they originally thought 2) it is not transferred through sweat 3) At-risk individuals (the elderly or those with compromised immune systems) are the most affected by covid and should strongly consider staying home from the gym, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. – We are doing our best to ensure safety to our members and clients but also know that it is in some of our clients' best interest to stay home and we are honoring that by not charging for freezing and giving leniency on our freeze policies. We encourage you to utilize our complimentary freeze policy until you feel comfortable being in public. If you decide to visit again or would like to discuss further, please feel free to email our operations manager ([email protected]) so that your concerns can be addressed directly and immediately over the phone or in person. Thank you again and have a great day!
Fantastic experience: I’m a personal trainer, and love to nerd out at new gyms when I travel. This was one of the best. My partner and I bought a week pass which was affordable. I don’t remember how much, but the process was really simple. The desk staff helped us sign in each morning, no problem. They have a functional room with sandbags, kettlebells, and a weighted sled etc. There are three rows of cardio equipment, treadmill, bikes, stair stepper, etc. the weight room there are 2 Leg Presses, a couple Rouge Monster Racks, some specialty barbells, plenty of places to bench press, free weights, a nice cable station, and plenty of machines. There is a hip thrust machine that I’ve never seen, it will leave you plenty sore. The place was busy around 8-9, but I found that I was able to get everything finished without a wait. The only suggestion I have would be to have a dedicated place to deadlift.
Thank you for your feedback Jeff! Please come visit us when you are in town in the future!
Fantastic experience: I have been to many gyms in many cities, private and commercial, and the Forum shocked me. Everyone is incredibly nice, the classes are awesome, the facility is clean (and cool), and I’ve never had an issue with the machines. Also, the other gym goers are also great! If you’re an Atlanta local this is the gym to lift at.
We appreciate your feedback, Austin!
Positive experience: I was a member at this location for a while and I enjoyed working out there. the positives were it is spacious and has a good selection of equipment. The location is convenient the parking is included in your membership and all the amenities of Ponce City Market are right there. Towels are free. T he downsides were the following: I do not like the lighting, the music was very loud, and the price was a bit high for me.
Hi Barry - Thank you for your feedback!
Fantastic experience: The Forum at Ponce and the Lenox location are excellent gyms. I’ll start by saying that the facilities are always very clean, which is even more important now with COVID-19. I’ve been to the Forum >50 times and I’ve never seen dirty equipment or poor cleaning practices. The equipment is new, it feels like they’re getting brand new equipment all the time. They have an excellent variety of free weights, machines, cardio equipment, cross training equipment, etc. They also make great use of their space - it doesn’t feel like the gym is overly crowded because the floor plan is great. Also the music is always great. I’ve seen some reviews that say it’s “too loud.” My opinion on this is: it’s a gym, having good music is a major plus. The staff (both member services and the staff working the desk/cleaning) can’t be matched. They’re friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. As long as I’m in the Atlanta area I’ll be a member at this gym, and I encourage anyone in the area to check it out.
Thank you for the thoughtful review, Connor! We are grateful that your experience has been so positive. Please let our operations manager know if anything comes up in the future that we can improve on. We appreciate you!

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! Parking code helps alleviate part of cost. Clean. Friendly. Plenty of equipment.
Positive experience: The gym is clean. The equipment is new and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Fantastic experience: Great selection of weights, clean space, lots of variety, and good music playing over the speakers. Can’t ask for much more from a gym.
Fantastic experience: I’ve tried all the gyms in Atlanta, but hands down the best gym I’ve been to.
Fantastic experience: Great gym with top quality equipment, trainers and staff. Classes offer a variety of workouts at a range of times. Good for all levels of fitness.
Fantastic experience: TFAC is truly a great gym. There’s plenty of equipment always available. The staff members here are all friendly and helpful. I would 100% recommend this gym.
Fantastic experience: TFAC is by far one of the BEST gyms. Gym is clean, staff is friendly and they've got some of the best PT's. Keisy is my wonderful PT!
Fantastic experience: By far the best gym I’ve ever been a member of. Great location, clean, friendly, everything you could want. Definitely an awesome vibe with people who are serious about fitness.
Fantastic experience: It was such a relief to find this gym! Love the classes. Instructors and staff are great - v friendly. Everyone seems to take their training very seriously without being intimidating :-)
Fantastic experience: A great gym! I’ve never been to a gym consistently in my life, but The Forum. The Forum is a great place to be because of the staff, atmosphere, and the fellow members. I highly...highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: I love this gym! I can always come in and get what I need on my list done without being in anyone’s way or anyone in my way. So many equipment options and it’s always nice and clean.
Fantastic experience: The Forum is GYM HEAVEN. Clean, affordable, and offers any piece of equipment you can imagine; perfect for athletes and anyone looking for more than the traditional gym. Both locations are excellent, too!
Fantastic experience: One of the best gym I’ve been at. I’ve never had a gym membership or found a gym that motivates me to workout daily. But The Forum has great staff, atmosphere and the location is amazing. Highly recommend!!
Fantastic experience: Love everything about this gym! Great location, wonderful staff, plenty of equipment and machines even at busy times, and the classes yes are limited, but the ones they do have are top notch! Fast twitch is a must try!!
Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at TFAC for over a year and it’s definitely one of the best gyms in atlanta! The staff is always friendly and the equipment is very clean. The group exercise classes are great and the trainers really know their stuff. Definitely recommend checking this gym out.
Fantastic experience: Love The Forum at Ponce City Market! Great location that I can walk or drive to. Parking is included and you can shop when you are done! I am addicted to Fast Twitch. Its hard core with amazing trainers. The gym has a ton of equipment and is very clean. Staff is very friendly and energetic! Being from Detroit, exciting to have owners who are former Lions! Bonus!
Fantastic experience: If you know, you know. If you don't, here's why... It's really become such a home base for me ever since moving to Atlanta. The gym is extremely clean and it's never busy when I'm there. The team at the Forum have done an incredible job building a community especially when it comes to Fast-Twitch (which has become my religion now). I've honestly never felt so strong before I started going consistently and a lot of that comes from the trainers who have done an incredible job of motivating you to come back for more.
Fantastic experience: This is a great gym. Centrally located so you can drive or access via the beltline. While the gym is a smaller than big box competitors, it feels way less crowded and there’s next a line for weights or equipment. The class selection is a bit limited but the classes they have are awesome. Fast-twitch pushes you to your limit and is guaranteed to whip you into shape. TRX with Mario is also a great class!
Fantastic experience: I LOVE this gym! I am a gym rat and when I moved to Atlanta I checked out 5 or 6 other gyms that were awful. Then I found The Forum. Not only does The Forum have a plethora of equipment to choose from, the gym is always clean, the folks that run the front desk are extremely accommodating and it is always a pleasant experience! I highly recommend The Forum!!
Fantastic experience: I love the forum it has something for everyone- if you want a personal trainer they have the best in Atlanta, if you want to come in and just do your own thing they have brand new well maintained equipment, if you like working out in group classes they offer some of the best classes out there, including my fave, Fast Twitch, which is 80/20 weight/cardio class focusing on lower, upper and full body different days of the week. Dan Owens, co-owner is usually there making you feel like your their only client! I LOVE this gym!!! I’ve made friends that live in my neighborhood because of them!!!
Fantastic experience: The Forum is the best gym I have ever been apart of. Very clean, has lots of natural light and high ceilings, and plenty of equipment! Aside from the Fast Twitch class they offer (the holy grail of all classes), the free classes are are awesome too. The staff is also great... always very friendly and helpful..shout out to Maddie who always has a big smile on! Definitely recommend the Forum...best gym in ATL!
Fantastic experience: The BEST gym in Atlanta, hands down! It is well-kept, clean and easy to get to! The machines and weight selection is perfect. It is a perfect-sized gym, where you don't feel too overwhelmed. The trainers and staff are awesome, but special shout-out to Keisy Myumi! We have been training together for about a year, and I have seen such positive results - physically and mentally! Thank you The Forum Midtown!!
Fantastic experience: Recently moved to the area and joined the Forum. Had previously a member at LA fitness and this gym blows them out of the water. All the equipment is in good condition, the staff is super friendly, the location is great, and most of all the locker rooms are clean. Would recommend to anyone in the Highlands/Ponce area!
Fantastic experience: I moved to Atlanta over a year ago and have tried different gyms in the city. The Forum is fantastic and it’s CLEAN! This is the closest thing I’ve been able to find to an Equinox and suits my needs perfectly. I wanted to join a gym that had well spaced out free weights and a balance of cardio equipment. As a bonus, this place also has an turf room where there are fast twitch classes and equipment. This is one of the few gyms that has excellent weight equipment from squat racks, deadlift friendly weights, bench press stations, to dumbbells up to 115lbs. I’m very happy with The Forum.
Fantastic experience: You will not find a better gym in Atlanta than The Forum. And you will not find a better class in the city than Fast Twitch! I go to both locations depending on my schedule and I’m never disappointed! Staff is awesome and the trainers will 100% get you the results you want!! Class times are convenient, prices are very affordable and the community you’ll build makes it worth every cent!
Fantastic experience: Awesome gym. Solid equipment selection. The classes are overall unique compared to other gyms and they do a great job focusing on functional strength. The trainers are great and you can tell they really care about their clients. This place can’t be beat.
Fantastic experience: Best gym in the area, no question.
Thanks for the positive review, Fred! We are happy to hear you think we are the best in the area!
Fantastic experience: A great neighborhood gym!
Thanks for the positive review, Joshua! We would love more insight into what we are doing right for you!
Negative experience: Very poorly managed dis organization. Managers wont call you back. There are billing issue here , if you quit they keep billing you but wont allow you into the gym , manager Simone wont call you back.
Fantastic experience: Lots of great details in their accomadations. Plenty of equipment. The free weight section is a little tight.
Fantastic experience: I like them here so far. I just join the gym today because my coworker refered me here. They have been very helpful, and the lady at the front desk today was very helpful. I forgot to ask her name because was just thinking about the questions I needed to ask her. I will keep you guys posted later.
Thanks for joining our family, Manisa! Please reach out to us at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
Fantastic experience: Really cool gym to lift at! Was very happy to find this gem of a place had all the squat, bench, and deadlift equipment I needed. Friendly staff, patrons, and atmosphere. The closest GOOD gym to downtown I found in ATL.
Fantastic experience: Great location with very nice equipment. The place is well attended but never crowded. Staff are friendly, and everything is kept very clean. I’ve done both LA Fitness and Snap Fitness, and Forum beats both by a long shot. I also like that they offer clean towels so you don’t have to bring your own - nice touch. Haven’t done any classes, but the weekly rate is very reasonable for use of the basic amenities.
Thanks for the review, Steve! We are happy to hear you enjoy our facility and staff. Please reach out to us if you have any questions about the group fitness classes we offer!
