Rumble Boxing - Palo Alto: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Been coming here off & on since they opened, yes I even survived the masking in class stage coming out of lockdown. It’s obvi not as sparkling shiny & new as when it opened but I love it. The hardest part is finding street parking at dinner times when the area is hella busy. Pros: 1) combo lockers & showers & bath towels & basic toiletries, hair ties, ear plugs, and filtered water fountain provided 2) fast paced work out hits all major body parts 3) I like punching things. It’s best if u have a little experience about proper punch techniques- but they review it too 4) more spacious than other boutique style work outs. TBH IDK why Barry’s costs more when it’s smaller & less fun than Rumble. 5) my travel schedule made it impossible for me to attend consistently on a member level, but I now use class pass whenever I’m in town. Great value & convenient. 6) you can adjust your difficulty level. You may want to bring your own small towel for about work on the bench.
Negative experience: They scammed me with a faked receipt and $180 bogus charge. DNDBW!!!
Negative experience: Do not join if you can. They will purposely delay any membership cancellations as much as possible and nickel and dime where possible. Lots of change in management so customer service is lacking.
Hey Bao, We sincerely apologize from this experience you had. This is not the standard we hold at our location and want to make this right. Please email [email protected] so we can help resolve this issue!
Negative experience: Studio benches are filthy. I wore a white tshirt and there were black stains all over it from the workout bench. I washed it several times, but ended up throwing it out.
Fantastic experience: Really fun and is an actual workout. Highly recommend it.
Fantastic experience: Tried the first class here and loved that! It's the most spacious gym among those boutique fitness studios that I've been to, and it also has a small weight training room there. The weight training bench is also different from other gyms. You have a complete set of dumbells right below the bench, and thus no need to pick up weights elsewhere. Nice design! I feel maxed out after that class, awesome!
Fantastic experience: My favorite workout class everrrr!! Go to a Gregs class he teaches on Fridays and youll be in for a real workout treat! Love the music really gets you pumped to punch and move! Class is about an hour consists of boxing and weights so you get a full body work out! It’s awesome they also have showers and toiletries in the bathrooms as well!
Positive experience: Better than the one in Sunnyvale. Generally, it’s a kind of cardio classes. No one care about the way you punch the bag. Not suitable for those who want to learn really box. But it’s an interesting way to do some cardio exercises. They have bath rooms to take a shower and a small strength training room
Negative experience: The workout program itself is nice enough. But beware if you have claustrophobia. The group class room is small and they turn off all the lights when class starts. The music was very loud even with earplugs in. I got nauseous and felt like it was hard to breathe just 10 minutes into the workout.
Fantastic experience: Was in town and had some time to kill between meetings. Stopped in for a quick workout. Manager was awesome and super accommodating, class was good and efficient. Showers and whatnot were all clean and large. Honestly an A+ experience thanks guys!
Fantastic experience: Amazing workout! My wife and I were in town for a few days and we dropped in for 2 classes. Both instructors were outstanding and the workouts were fun; highly recommend!
Negative experience: No costumers service. The phone number shown on the website, no one answered. The emails I sent, no one responded. The online chat, no one there. Can’t find anyone to ask any information.
Negative experience: This is a night-club style gym. Not to my taste, but it night be OK for others. The room was quite dark, and I could only stand to be in it for about 5 seconds. The music was deafeningly loud. I didn't stay for the workout. It hurt my ears too much. Also, get there early. We were there 15 minutes before 9 a.m. Saturday class and had to park over a block away. It must be impossible in the evenings.
Fantastic experience: Well, last year my husband purchased a pack of 15 classes as a gift for me which I attended 3 of those classes and went overseas for vacation, when I returned and tried to exercise, I've learned that my remaining classes were expired. I reach out to the general manager and I absolutely love his professionalism and great customer service, he promptly assured me to place back the remaining classes and apologized for the inconvenience. They will continue to have our business. It's a great place for your workouts. Much appreciated.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been twice. Stretch before hitting the bag.
Positive experience: A solid workout with good showers and amenities! Came here on my birthday and the staff were incredibly accommodating and super nice. Appreciated their help getting gloves and wraps - it is harder as a newcomer to understand how the workout works so I would say this workout is much more for advanced to intermediate Rumble attendees! I did love how clean and sanitary the place felt, and the screens inside the facility are always a huge plus and make it feel much more high tech. Shower area has so many amenities! It’s not as hard as a Barry’s but arguably more fun.
Fantastic experience: Love the concept of boxing and weight workouts in a dark room. Always a great work out, getting my angers out at the bags. More people need to know about this in Palo Alto. Front staffs are super helpful and friendly, equipment are clean. Locker rooms have nice showers and amenities. Street parking only, but there are always plenty in the nearby blocks. If it’s your first time, don’t be late or else you might feel a bit confused. I’m addicted to rumble boxing.
Fantastic experience: Rumble Boxing is the only group fitness class I plan on taking regularly now that the Bay Area is opening up. Rumble is a phenomenal workout, super fun (great playlist), and the space is well designed and clean. I can't replicate the experience/workout at home or at a gym. Plus the women's locker room has everything you need (Dry Bar hairdryer, hair ties, deodorant spray, tampons, and more). Pre-pandemic I had a gym membership and occasionally took group fitness classes, including Rumble. During the pandemic I got a Peloton Bike - mega gamechanger in taking the planning out of working out (cycling, yoga, strength training, pilates) and greatly improved my level of fitness by boosting consistency. If you want a well-rounded workout, definitely give Rumble a shot.
Fantastic experience: I trialed a couple of classes as I was visiting from out of town and I loved it High energy such wonderful staff ! Really helpful friendly made me feel really welcome Challenging class - great work our combination of weights and boxing ! I booked twice a day whilst I’m here !
Kelly!Happy to have you as a part of the RUMBLE fam.Erika Hammond, Founding Trainer
Fantastic experience: This looks fun as hell
Come through!! We have a buy one, get one on us for new clients. Check it out on our website!Sara, Team Rumble
Fantastic experience: Rumble is a 45 minute boxing class. Four sets, 10 rounds. First two sets are three rounds each second two sets are two rounds each. You start on either the floor or bag and then swap. Giving this a 5 stars as the class was fun and the front desk team was super nice and let us into the class despite a class pass booking fiasco. If you're working out here, you've probably been to Barry's and high probability you're a millennial that works in tech, just saying. In terms of the class, I recommend getting the wraps they have at rumble, they're only $5 and much easier to take off then your typical boxing wraps. Boxing: The bags are tear dropped shape which allow you to duck under and also do some cool exercises (crunches while punching the bag). The space can be a little tight but it's enough to get the job done. I enjoyed the boxing rounds and it was really up to me to push it, punch harder or faster. The pace feels right and the music matched well. Floor: The floor feels like a mix of weights and plyometrics. Given that boxing is cardio intensive, I recommend using this time to focus on strength building and heavier weights, fewer reps. Overall, the floor feels like a breather before you jump back into the boxing sessions.
Eric!Welcome to the Rumble Fam! So happy to hear that the front desk team took care of you and that you enjoyed the workout. Thanks for coming thru and see you back on the bags soon!Sara, Team Rumble
