Fantastic experience: I've been coming to this gym for many years, and this is a great place to work out! It's very clean with fresh towels always available, and the entire staff is so friendly and welcoming. The trainers really care about their clients and give their best. There is something for everyone here whether you are looking for machines or weights and you can't beat the location with parking in the garage below. Where else can you work out and be greeted by a cute dog when you walk in the door?

Fantastic experience: Been coming to powerhouse for a year now. Great gym like a family here. I worked out earlier today and forgot some equipment I came in 5 hours later. And like family they found my grips and held on to them for me. So great full I don’t have to spend more money on new ones. Great great great staff. 10/10

Fantastic experience: Joined Powerhouse gym earlier this year and it has been a great all around experience. Staff is really friendly, plenty of squat racks and variety of equipment for all types of lifts you might want to do. Gym is kept tidy. Haven't worked with a trainer, but from what I can see they are super attentive/helpful to folks during sessions. Really happy I joined this gym. People at the gym are nice all around and it's easy to be in a good headspace because of the environment.

Fantastic experience: My son had a chance to work out at Powerhouse several times as a guest. He found it to be extremely clean with modern equipment and the staff was really friendly. If he was local and not out-of-town at university, he would have joined this gym on a regular basis. Keep up the great work!

He was extremely helpful. Before he directed me with another Team member, he took the time to answer whatever questions I had regarding membership and classes. Fantastic experience: Powerhouse Gym is a RWC institution! The best gym in town, hands down. The size is perfect, super clean, ready and easily accessible by all. There’s a great mix of machines, classes, and all the trainers (especially my trainer, Andrew, who also manages the gym) are off the charts AWESOME. What I love most about it is the community and working out with such an amazingly supportive staff, as well as the other super friendly and respectful gym members. It makes every work out special. I’m always happy when I’m there and I never regret rolling out of bed and going! And they are dog friendly too!!. 5 stars all the way!

Negative experience: The dog is shedding all over the floor and the gym is clearly not hovering and cleaning frequently enough to mitigate this issue. I am not a fan of having a heavy shedding dog in the gym to begin with, but if you are to force one onto the customers at least clean after this dog. Update: the dogs re still there shedding all over the place

Fantastic experience: 2nd Update: hand sanitizer has been much more regularly stocked lately - yay! I really wish they’d play better music. Top 40s and hip hop are much easier to pump to than oldies and rock, especially for clientele like me: I come in in the afternoons and sadly can’t pop in my AirPods when I’m working with a trainer. The music genres leave something to be desired - I’ll happily take a Top 40s mix instead!! Update: please keep your hand sanitizers refilled!! They’re all empty more often than they’re filled! :( I’ve been a member at Powerhouse and doing personal training with Hector Baez 3 times a week for nearly a year. I highly recommend working with him! Hector is knowledgeable, encouraging and flexible, and also just a fun and friendly person. I’ve seen results and enjoy the routine of visiting this nice facility with enough equipment - both machines and squat racks. Thanks Powerhouse - getting stronger each week!

Fantastic experience: For sure, one of the best gyms in town! Clean and well-maintained! All the equipment looks great, and the vibe is amazing!!

Negative experience: Small gym and yet little upkeep. Floor tiles dirty and falling apart, old brown towels placed on top to hide it. Water fountain not working well, stops many times over one hour and have to wait each time minutes. Lockers broken and those that close open to any combination. Had items stolen many times. Beware!

Fantastic experience: I am an old school bodybuilder (a.k.a. meathead) and used to working out in a serious and respectful gym atmosphere. Translation: I am picky and hard to please when it comes to a gym environment. Estrada's Gym in San Luis Obispo was the best. While Powerhouse Elite Gym is not ideal for me, I can honestly give it a 5 star rating because there is nothing better close to me. And I actually like going to this gym, even though 2 hour free parking would be better than only 1.5 hrs. Also, the staff is great and Stephanie at the front desk is Awesome!!

Fantastic experience: Thank You Rob for an amazing Gym. I have been weight training for years and this is the perfect gym. I played football at the University of San Diego and have been looking for a real Gym that had the free weights and dumb bells to really get a whole body work out. Rob the owner has created a true weight room now called resistance training for everyone. I have tried other chains and they are too busy. I am excited to learn more about his martial arts for my wife And daughter and my 10 year old son. Covid is over let’s get in shape. Thank you again your hard work is appreciated. You have to try his gym - get the free pass. I did and I already feel better. I wont go into here why squats and free weights are the optimal conditioning look it up. If you have not tried it you owe it to yourself to try - then decide. You will thank me if you do.

Negative experience: The temperature of this place is uncomfortably hot. The two thermostats (each controls one side of the gym) are constantly locked at 76 degrees. I have asked time and time again to lower the temperature, which all staff agrees is way too hot even for them. The fans will kick in but only to turn off after 1-2 hours because of some setting. I am here now, it is 92 degrees today, and I literally start sweating even before my workout. If you read articles and research, the ideal indoor gym temperature should be 65-68 degrees, > 10 degrees lower. I have been coming here for years, and everyone complains about the temperature, but somehow that feedback never gets through. So, it’s unfortunate that I have to write this review, as it is no reflection of the staff members who are all awesome. Whoever controls this, please stop being cheap with the AC and just keep the temperature MUCH cooler. It feels like a fundamental cost/feature being a gym owner (like the water fountain working at all times). I pray to god that this will enact some change which everyone is asking for. Please.

Fantastic experience: Our family has been attending Powerhouse gym for a few years now. We joined because we loved the convenient location, the gym amenities, and the programs they have for martial arts. Our kids are in the tae kwon do and ju jitsu programs and it's been amazing to see their skills and confidence grow. What really sets these programs apart is the focus on competition (this gym literally trains national and world champions), skill building, and athleticism. But what has really kept us at this gym all this time is the people. Greg and Pedro and the other staff members are great people and they truly care about each other and the members. The community is tight knit with local roots going back decades which is noticeably different from the new and flashy gyms nearby. If you're serious about training, and want a supportive community that looks out for and cares for one another, and a place to build your kids defensive skills and confidence, look no further than Powerhouse.

Located right down town Redwood City and parking nearby and underground garage. Always something available to work on. Kyle my trainer is a fascinating person to work out with and always makes sure that I do things correctly and is important such pay attention, focus, etc.

Fantastic experience: Love Powerhouse! Great location, kept clean, it can be busy but not too crazy. The people that work there are the best, especially Stephanie at the front desk. Also, Kyle is a great personal trainer. Definitely recommend this place 10/10, I’ve tried other gyms but this place is my favorite.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Powerhouse are very nice and knowledgeable. I have been to other gyms just to take a look. Sometimes it would take awhile before someone would ask if they could help me. I love the martial arts class taught there, it’s really top notch! The instructors are current or former champions in the field of martial arts and they have self defense classes for children and seniors, something for the whole family!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely loved being a member at powerhouse! The variety of equipment and the cleanliness of the gym and locker rooms made it a very enjoyable experience and was a great environment to work out in. The equipment was always functioning and I especially loved having little furry workout buddies walking around and visiting me in between sets! The staff was always really friendly and helpful, it’s a great gym and I am sad I had to move away.

Showers, lockers, treadmills, free weights and cable machines for any and all range of work outs.... Amazing personal trainers that have competition level expertise and taylor workouts to your specific needs and desires... They offer a meditation class with a magnificent meditation instructor who will personally go out of his way to make sure that you have a direct conetion with God and His universal laws He's set into motion since the beginning of time...They also offer an outstanding martial arts academy program for kids and adults that will get you ready for tournaments, real life self defense scenarios, and help you build life skills along the way, such as discipline, focus, confidence, and character development... Best gym in town and I strongly recomend you come by and check it out for yourself. I'd give this place more stars if I could ^-^

Fantastic experience: Great staff and equipment! The staff are super cordial and helpful. The equipment is super clean and there is always fresh towels! There are plenty of free weights of all types as well as mats for stretching. There are also plenty of specific exercise machines like a push cart that can be loaded with weight and more. For cardio there are ellipticals, treadmills, stair climbers, and a ladder climber. The bathrooms are also kept very clean! Overall an amazing gym with great staff and everything needed to fulfill exercising needs!

Fantastic experience: Powerhouse gym elite is in my opinion the best gym on the peninsula The staffs professionalism and courteousness is second to none They have all the free weights and machines You could possibly need they also have MMA and jujitsu classes but the best thing about the gym is the dog policy you can bring your dog to the gym while he chills next to you while you’re working out I absolutely love that they allow you to bring your dog to the gym and it enables me to come in for a good workout and then take my dog straight to the hills for a run or straight to the beach without having to go home. This gym is five stars all the way.
