Negative experience: The most awful gym I've ever experienced in my life. The owner is a complete nightmare; he does not care whatsoever about his customers, all he cares about is taking your money and he will never respond to any message you leave him or email or phone call, he will ignore you and take your money and never resolve any issues that you might ever have and trust me, this gym is full of problems. Staff is dumb as dumb gets… If you get the combined IQ of the owner and all of his staff, I would bet every dollar I have that it would not surpass 100. These people are as stupid as stupid gets, awful experience with everyone I dealt with… This owner is awful and I hope he goes out of business sooner than later, and he clearly has an affinity towards hiring unintelligent employees with zero social/communication skills. Both locations i've been to are tiny, severely lacking, cluttered, and the owner and staff are all pretentious, arrogant, and greedy. Also, there's no paper products in the bathrooms… So good luck using the restroom or trying to wash your hands effectively, if you're lucky, there might be soap.. AND, the fact that these incomplete and pretentious gyms are grossly overpriced just makes it that much worse.. The tiniest, most limited, and most cluttered gym ever, the worst variety of machines, the most disgusting bathrooms, the greediest and most selfish/unfriendly/arrogant business owner of all time, the stupidest staff, and by far the worst customer service on the planet -- all paired with being the most expensive gym in the world! We should observe a local holiday when this place finally goes out of business. As a proud local, I am only counting the days! Keep Aspen great, don't support this awful establishment.

Negative experience: I signed up with this gym and within 2 days discovered my new (to me) apartment I had rented had bad black mold. I immediately reached out and said I was not going to be able to stay in the valley and can I please have a refund; I got redirected six different times to six different people over the course of 3 weeks after I left; None of which called me back. They kept my $190 of mine and I had to put a stop payment on the card ! Zero professionalism , zero understanding, just want your money. Welcome to the entire valley $$$$ vs understanding .The front desk person said, as if they had just smoked 3 joints, “I don’t know when they’ll call you back” and I replied “oh that’s really nice”. I expected an email back saying we totally understand and here’s a refund or at least a partial refund or response but I got absolutely nothing.. ghosted me , kept my $.. NEXT! Maybe this review will be a good way to get a hold of them!

Positive experience: Me gusta, pero la principal idea de inscribirme en este gym fue por la piscina (la cual el agua es fría y no tiene mucho mantenimiento), el sauna (que dura 20min el tiempo entre cada salida de vapor) y finalmente el jacuzzi que lleva 3 semanas sin servicio. Quede un poco defraudado para el alto costo que tengo de mensualidad

Negative experience: Went in to sign up for a membership and it was like the woman at the front desk could not be bothered with it. I am aware I can sign up online. I just wanted a tour to see what I was about to pay for.

Negative experience: I rented e-bikes on a day where the weather was on and off. I was given the bikes from Jean himself with three other friends of mine. Before I paid, I was assured by him that I would be fully refunded and that it won’t rain (this is when the skies were dark gray and gloomy). Under five minutes I taking the bikes out (learning how to use them) it started pouring, less than three miles my friends and I got. Headed back, and I was told I was going to be refunded since we did not even use the bike. Jean told me I would get refunded in 24 hours, I was not refunded. Called him for four weeks, the people on the phone would not patch me through to Jean when I was inquiring where my full refund was. It isn’t until I had to drive all the way back to aspen, to show up at the bike shop to ask where is my refund. Jean, caught off guard I showed up and asked where my refund was said that the bank charges me xx amount to refund you so I’m not giving you the refund. This guy is coward, his business is a scam, he runs away from me trying to reach him for a month to ask where my refund is— he is terrible business man and I will never ever refer anyone out to him. The bikes also were broken, dead and he gave no instructions in how to use them. To this day, he never gave my money back! Stay away from this business and him - he will take your money, promise you the money back and then act like a coward and keep your money.

Negative experience: I moved away during Covid madness, after having my membership paused. When I saw a charge from JR’s gym today, I reached out to the company to cancel my membership and see about getting the month membership fee removed, being as I moved before Gyms had reopened. I was told I could cancel my membership, but the $75 wouldn’t be returned because I didn’t cancel in time for that charge to be removed. This was very shocking, but understandable with the Covid madness, but the argument that ensued was not understandable - a customer service professionalism is required for businesses, and this Gym doesn’t have it. Seems like they are move concerned in making money, than helping out their customers during these times. Will not ever be returning to this gym, and the staff being the number one reason.

Negative experience: Very rude staff! Called about freezing or cancelling my membership due to COVID-19. Was initially told how to cancel my membership online but when I was unable to find the link I sent an email requesting assistance to which I never got a response. Was charged again this morning so made another phone call. The woman I spoke to interrupted me every time I tried to speak. Never allowed me to finish a sentence and now I've paid for an additional month that I will not be using as I am not comfortable going to a gym during this time.

Positive experience: Shocked to get a call from Jean Robert himself! He saw I didn't have a great massage experience and called to make up for it. Definitely gives you hope that some businesses actually care about the customers that come to them.

Fantastic experience: Ok. I’ve been going to gyms all my life. High end (Equinox) and basic. Until Saturday I had never been to a gym that I would build my life around. By far the most pleasurable gym experience of my life. It was actually the highlight of my trip to Aspen. Incredible ambiance with views of the mountains that are postcard. I didn’t want to be inside on such a beautiful day but I felt outside. Incredible gym equipment. Everything you could want. I felt like I was in the old Caribou Ranch recording studio. All wood floors, a 70’s feeling. The lighting was amazing. No hideous fluorescent lighting that makes you feel you are in Wal Mart. It seemed like all natural sunlight. I was planning on working out for one hour but I stayed for 2 1/2 because it was such a pleasurable space. Not crowded...6 stars! One last thing: there was zero corporate feel to the gym. It was totally original...a one of a kind!

Fantastic experience: The first day I was here I got lost trying to find the locker room and a very nice stranger guessed my dilemma and helped me out. There is an atmosphere of helpfulness and support in this gym that I have not found elsewhere. The stranger turned out to be Jean Robert himself and its obvious he takes care to make sure everyone feels at home in his gym. I can't recommend it enough.

Positive experience: Went for a massage it was pretty nice, but my only issue was the place I was getting a massage and wasn't very private. The walls were trifold screens in the back wall was a mirror I could easily see into the next partition and someone could easily see into mine.

Positive experience: I've been a member for almost 20 years. JR's downstairs has significant improvements since Jean Robert took over. Staff is friendly. Place is clean. Hours are good. Wireless internet if you ask. Update March 2017 - Still decent. Down time for pool/hot tub/steam repairs can be long. Wireless is spotty. If you're just looking for a gym, this is still good. No wait for machines or benches.

Fantastic experience: Jean Robert's Gym is one of the best gym's I have had the opportunity to work out in. From the knowledgeable kind staff, to the newest and best machines, excellent and diverse classes they offer to the lap pool, steam room and climbing wall. They even have Pilates machines and classes. This gym truly offers it all. I personally started out and did a fitness test where we measured my body fat, heart rate and oxygen intake (this was a very in depth procedure). I was given a specific plan accordingly to loose my targeted weight loss goal. I am proud to say that I not only exceeded my goal by I am still going thanks to JR's gym. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: What a great Gym! The top floor is especially clean, almost unnaturally clean for a gym. I love it not only for the variety of very modern equipment, but for the lack of waiting. Aside from training with friends, I have never waited for a machine. This gym is extremely private and quiet. The spa with massage therapists, steam room, sauna, and cool plunge are a perfect compliment to the workout. Since the gym is essentially many separate areas, it also really makes it feel like a full package.

Fantastic experience: Marvelous Gym, starting from is very accessible location to all its amenities this gym has it all! Greeted by a cheerful staff you will be accommodated to any of your workout needs, this gym provides an amazing ambiance whether you wish to workout to a captivating view of Aspen Co, or a more private experience in the two lower levels. You will be surprised by the deceiving size of the gym since its composed of three levels (not including the spa) where you can find their pool, jacuzzi, cold plunge and steam room all included in any membership you decided to acquire. You also have the handy choice of dropping in for any of their dynamite and highly recommended classes, taught by their world best personal trainers (you will not be disappointed.) Did i mention you can also drop by their Spa and get a delightful massage from any of their skilled massage therapist! Overall this an incredible gym providing best customer service and equipment.

Fantastic experience: I really like the two different atmospheres of the 3 levels of the gym. The 3rd floor has awesome high tech equipment, I personally favor the treadmills that have virtual hiking tours and the espresso bike with games on it to play. The 3rd floor also has awesome view of Aspen Mountain (inspires me to hike!). The 2 lower levels of the gym have more of an underground gym feeling, great equipment, i love the leg press! When I don't know how to do an exercise, Jean Robert is always around to come to the rescue! Also, Bernadette's classes are fun and they kick my butt every time! I got an amazing massage from the best massage therapist ever! This gym has become my second home!

Fantastic experience: Jean-Robert's Gym is a gym unlike any other! It is seriously the best gym I have ever been to. It has 3 different levels of gym equipment as well as a lap pool, hot tub, cold tub, and steam room. The gym on the top floor has state of the art equipment and fabulous 360 degree view of the beautiful Aspen scenery. Jean Robert and Bernadette are always in the gym and are always willing to lend a helping hand. The classes, especially those taught by Bernadette, are amazing! They really kick your butt into shape. This gym has something for everyone no matter your budget or how long you are in town. This is THE GYM while you are here in Aspen!
