Fantastic experience: This gym is the best I’ve ever been to! It has a great childcare, with staff that actually interacts and gives your child individual attention. The gym is always clean, has tons of sanitation stations for gym-goers to sanitize the equipment after use, and the locker rooms are clean too. The gym has a women’s fit room, just for women to workout in private with weights, machines, and cardio equipment. They have posing rooms that are individual and lock. There’s also a pool and basketball, martial arts, and physical therapy located in the building. I’ve never been to a better gym and I’ve gone to gyms all over the US. Super friendly for women of all ages, which is so important to me. I couldn’t be more thankful for this gym. Anyone of any age would be safe and comfortable here.

Fantastic experience: I needed to join a gym... went over to Anytime Fitness in Antioch first (see review on this disaster). It's a little hole in the wall with nothing much to offer, some gym equipment and 2 unisex bathrooms. They wanted $45/mth for a full year upfront and a contract! RIP off!! Next I came here to FitNation in Gurnee... what a difference! There's plenty of room, tons of equipment, a pool, sauna, steam room, huge locker room, free towel service... all that for $55/mth!! And there's no contract!!... it's month to month, and they also offer classes, and child care, for a little extra money (for those who want that). Totally worth the money! HUGE difference for $10 more! So I signed up!

Fantastic experience: The place is always clean and nicely organized. Bathrooms always spotless lean.
Positive experience: Nice place. Overall I think it's great but it's too expensive for me. The pool is nice but it's a little shorter than a regular pool. The sauna and steam room are both great and the locker room is in good condition and clean.
Positive experience: The gym and amenities are awesome! The front desk staff aren’t very friendly, otherwise 5 stars.
Negative experience: Do we get reimbursed for all of the days the pool or hot tub is closed? It's getting to be ridiculous! I joined for those two things alone and there is something wrong too often! Now thinking about switching gyms. This one is starting to be not worth the money since you can't use what you joined for. Come on!!!

Positive experience: I have not yet used the facility, but the tour was thorough, and the staff was friendly. I would like there to be weight machines, but lots of classes are offered that I'm looking forward to trying.
Negative experience: Loved this place until they started letting men work in the locker room no warning or otherwise I don't want dual memberships where I need to worry for my teenager or myself

Fantastic experience: FitNation is the best gym in the area. I have tried several in my 7 years of working out. The cleanliness, organization, friendliness and efficiency is un beatable. Shoutout to Alex and Cary who are selflessly willing to help in any question or issue that arises. Alex has helped up several times and goes out of his way to deliver exceptional customer service and resolve whatever issue arose. Thank you FitNation staff!

Positive experience: The staff is great. The people who go there to workout, not so much. They cannot seem to throw a towel in the bin, clean up after themselves in the shower or steam room, close a locker when they're done with it, or get off their phones while others are waiting to get on the machine they are not really using. Seriously, what is wrong with people. A little common courtesy and some thoughtfulness towards the staff would go a long way.
Fantastic experience: I wish I had joined sooner. I think the price point is completely reasonable considering the type of equipment you have access to, the customer service, the towel service, the amenities (pool, spa, nice spacious locker rooms). People actually put their equipment back and clean up after themselves. Yes, you pay nominal fee for classe and daycare, but it ensures the quality and continuity of both the classes and daycare, while not burdening the median gym goer. The daycare is great and the hours are fantastic. We transferred to here after trying out LA fitness, ESporta, and XSport. Everything was a hassle with these three...nobody had gym etiquette, never put stuff back, equipment falling apart, overcrowded, not clean, broccoli haired teenagers crowded around equipment, late opening their doors for LA and ESporta, and daycares that were abysmal . Don't listen to the randos regarding customer service or men in the locker room. I've had nothing but a pleasant experience since day one at FitNation .Everything is clean and everyone's friendly and they actually say hi when you enter. Never had any issue with staff. They have male and female crew.

Positive experience: I've been coming to fitnation since September 2022. I really like all of the staff, amenities and group fitness classes. I wish there were more group fitness classes offered in the evenings and on later on the weekends.

Negative experience: Bogus Gym. The people here have poor gym etiquette. I was injured here and the gym didn’t help me at all. They wouldn’t reimburse me for the remainder of the month after the injury. They didn’t care at all, they just made sure they weren’t liable for the hospital bills. Management doesn’t care at all. Most of the older ladies at the front desk are rude. Most of the equipment is old and rusty. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Positive experience: I just joined fitnation. I was referred by a friend, who's already a member. I spoke with staff, prior to signing up. In email I was advised that there was a discount for 1st responders. When I arrived to sign up, I was told there was not. It was a little frustrating to have mixed messages. The gym itself seems very well set up. There is an abundance of equipment, plenty of amenities as well. The gym space is large, with plenty of cardio equipment. I do think the price for a membership is a bit high. I'll try the gym out for a month, and see how I like it. I'm also a member at xsport, which is significantly cheaper. Normally I wouldn't pay the extra price for fitnation. However, they are about ten full minutes closer for me than xsport. So far fitnation is a solid 3 stars. Potentially 4. I will update my review after testing the facility for a few weeks.

Fantastic experience: I finally found a club that is clean, open and expansive with working machines and lots of good reviews. It has everything you should expect in a quality health club, including a pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, clean locker rooms and even drink vending machines. They even have a senior citizen discount, which several of the store front places do not. The front desk area is almost as big as some of these storefront places. They do provide towels and have clean showers . Please tap on the thumbs up and follow me with my many reviews.

Fantastic experience: Always clean, not too noisy, sauna, steam sauna, spacious hot tub, plenty of machines, broken machines get fixed in timely manner, lots of water bottle fillers, plenty of sanitization wipes, friendly staff, friendly people working out... overall worth the price! (Just wish they were open later on weekends)
Negative experience: Customer service seems to be non-existent at this establishment. The staff should be replaced with workers who actually care to be employed at a gym. I’m appalled at their treatment towards customers. Also, some of their equipment is rusty and should be replaced to avoid injuries. Management should really look into all of these issues before losing more customers and penitential customers. The truth spreads quickly within our community, which is why our reviews are so important to share.

Positive experience: The facility is nice and spacious but the membership price is high for no reason. If you want to participate in any of the classes you have to pay $12 more on top of what you’re already paying which is ridiculous, $55 a month and we cant even get a couple classes a month for free? On top of that there are no guest passes and if you bring a guest they have to pay $15 for a pass. So you really gotta ask yourself what exactly are you paying for? I would happily pay $55 a month if it came with more amenities and perks but it doesn’t.

Positive experience: Good gym. Clean facility and things are mostly kept up. For the price we pay, 55 a month, the equipment is getting kinda dated. My local community center has top of the line 2021 equipment at 12 bucks a months. You can actually see the weight numbers on all their machines; many at fit nation are so old all the numbers are wore off. I'm Curious how gurnee park district utilizes our membership money.

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym. Staff is friendly and polite. Usually good quality basketball games in the evening, but not too high intensity. The equipment is new and nice. Classes are diverse and difficult. Locker rooms are clean. It's a good place to be a member.

Negative experience: I'm changing my review for fit nation since I just found out that it's not kid friendly gym. You can't even go and shoot some basketball with kids here unless you pay a trainer. Not goid

Members 16 - 18 years of age are able to workout and utilize the facility independently with our teen membership. Our youth membership is for ages 12 - 15 and they must be accompanied by an adult when using the facility. Hope this helps, appreciate it your time.
Negative experience: Where do i even start? After being new to the area we stopped by and signed our 7 year up for swim lessons this summer. They charged us the fee, asked us to pick a day based on schedules to show up to class and we were good to go. Come Wednesday (first class) she isn't on the roster but they went ahead and let her participate. Fast forward a day and I get a wonderful voicemail saying that the classes are "overbooked", they are refunding the fees and she is effectively kicked out of the class. Let's start with there was no option for a different day, no problem solving at all, just a "you can't do it". I of course asked for a call back, and of course, haven't received one. If this is the level of customer service that FitNation provides i worry about the gym. I understand issues come up, training isn't complete and hiring a staff is tough right now....but they aren't the ones that have to tell a 7 year old that they can't participate in the program and no alternative was provided, ie. later in the summer. Fortunately we found a place in Libertyville that she will start lessons at....just really disappointed in FitNation and the Gurnee Park District as that level of service reflects an organization that doesn't care, which seems to go against the intent of the group. Oh well, i guess i'll just take my money elsewhere and avoid anything that the Gurnee Park District puts in place.

Negative experience: I cancelled my membership on jun. The person I spoke through the phone told me that I would still have the rest of the month paid if I wanted to join. All was fine till I realized I’ve been charged for the last 3 months. Until now I’ve never got a cancellation email.

Fantastic experience: I rejoined FitNation just about a month ago after a 2 year hiatus. That hiatus put 30 pounds on my frame and now, since March 27 and a month at FitNation I am down 20 of those pounds. FitNation is clean, the staff accommodating and the equipment - awesome!

Fantastic experience: I have always been scared to go to the gym because I have always been on the heavier side but here I feel comfortable. I don’t feel like I’m getting judged. I feel like everyone there is helpful and supportive.
Fantastic experience: The minute I signed up and took my first class, trainers and other participants were so friendly and encouraging me even when I couldn’t do much of the workouts. Now I’ve been a member for going on three months and I love it.
Fantastic experience: Over the past few month of going she’s definitely held me accountable for when I miss class or when I don’t push myself. I leave every class in pain but feeling great mentally.
Fantastic experience: The FitNation facility is impeccable. In spending over an hour 6 days a week watching the care taken by the staff from maintaining the equipment, lighting, towel service and cleaning everywhere, I am thankful to have became a member. I know it's difficult for many to make it a habit to of working on our physical being, the recognition and greetings by the front desk staff makes one feel like this is the place you belong. When you get the call to join a facility, to address your physical needs, the cost value comparison of FitNation is money well spent. Thanks for better health, physically and mentally.

Fantastic experience: Were not clear about the kids memberships , was kinda of a waste of time. My kid has gone alone paying the daily pass , but when I tried to get him a membership he needed and adult to go with him. Not sure how that works but ♀️

Fantastic experience: Bonnie, the Hydrofit instructor for aquartics on Mondays and Tuesdays ROCKS! Her class is a WORKOUT from 9-10 with little downtime in between exercises. That down time is filled with jogging in place. I appreciate her enmcouragement and options for folks with limited mobility. Thank you, Bonnie!

Fantastic experience: It was my first time back since the pandemic started and I really appreciate the practices in place for maintaining a clean workout area and social distancing. Everyone followed the rules and it felt very safe. Plan to try and make more time again to workout safely.

Negative experience: Mask mandate is a joke! Numerous people don’t even wear them at all (chin diapers- not covering their nose or mouth) or properly (nosers- don’t cover their nose). It would be nice if the staff actually enforced this… it’s maddening! Members should be at the very least fined for each violation or failing that, kicked out/banned. We are in the middle of a public health crisis folks! I still will continue to wear one because I actually care about protecting myself and others but it’s clear most people that go here don’t. If I continue to see this blatant disregard for public health though I’m gone.

Fantastic experience: I've only been to the Nation's Drive facility and it's wonderful! The front desk is super helpful and very pleasant. They always wish you a great workout when you arrive, and they send off with a "Have a nice day", when you leave. Always! The facility is very clean, and I see the staff constantly vacuuming, cleaning, and going the extra distance to keep up with covid requirements so that the place is safe for all guests. All the machines are in good condition and I particularly love the two private work out rooms within the women's locker room. 5 stars, Fitnation!

Fantastic experience: I've been a member since the facility opened as Gold's back in 1998-1999. The Gurnee Park district is doing a fantastic job keeping everyone safe. Every member is issued a spray bottle and. Must keep a distance of 6ft. In addition to masks/ face coverings

Negative experience: Just FYI - I called the main office regarding a membership question. Whoever I spoke to was not at all courteous, actually asked me "Are you done?" like I was a little kid. Horrible customer service from this team.

Negative experience: The facility is huge and has alot to offer, indoor pool, plenty of machines and a wide variety of classes. The reason for my rating is the customer service. I had every intention of joining this gym but was floored at how I was treated by the staff. The person at the front desk barely acknowledged my presence and had a bad habit of speaking with his hands when I asked where things were. I had to ask because he offered NO information about where to go, location of classes, bathrooms, etc (did I mention this was my first time visiting?) He also appeared busy, which confused me because there was no line. I asked to speak to someone regarding membership....after waiting several minutes for the sales rep to finish she seemed to rush me through the process and did not once offer a tour of the facility, which surprised me since I was obviously a guest. The impression I got was, she either was'nt interested in gaining a member or doubted my intent to join. Again the facility in itself was impressive but the customer service skills were severely lacking.

Negative experience: Dragged 2 year old out in middle of winter to burn some energy during open swim. Unfortunately, the listed open swim hours on website were not honored by front desk personnel. Now dealing with very disappointed, tantruming toddler who was promised some swim time.

Positive experience: It's a good gym. Really like their daycare. There's a small all womens section for those who don't want to be in the main area! There's classes of all kinds. Plenty of equipment
