Negative experience: I tried to cancel last year in November because they were getting rid of childcare. Tristin a sales guy, asked if I wanted to freeze it, I wouldn't have to pay anything and could come back the following fall unfreeze and resume the membership, no extra cost. I get hit February with a $70 renewal fee along with 2.37 every month since November. I call, tell them I want it all cancelled, I was told I wouldn't be charged - Tristin says okay I can do that and says it's done I'm cancelled. Next month I get charged 2.37 I call, they say it says I'm cancelled and refund me. Following month I get charged the membership monthly price. My husband calls, Tristin says he definitely cancelled us and we will be getting a refund. 2 months go by we are hit with a $70 renewal fee. I go in physically and tell them to take it off and I contact the general manager for the full refund and she takes 3 weeks to get back to me, says we are cancelled and we get the refund. Fast forward 3 months again we are hit with two monthly fees equaling around $70. Husband writes a letter requesting cancellation of membership, turns it into Tristin. Tristin says we will cancel it for the 6th time and guess what! We are charged two days ago another $70. I'm in tears at this point. We cannot mentally afford to keep doing this. I'm a stay at home mom and the gym is 30 minutes from us. We will be serving them a certified letter this week, I've contacted necessary authorities to handle this if it's not cancelled according to contract in the next two weeks. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SHARKS
Fantastic experience: Betsy is an outstanding spinning teacher! She keeps you motivated!
Negative experience: This gym reactivated my account without my authorization and charged me $170 over four months. When I finally noticed and called, I was told it was a mistake on their end and that they would “take care of it.” Which they took care of by sending the balance to collections, and immediately hurting my credit score. This situation was entirely avoidable, handled poorly, and caused real financial harm. I would strongly caution anyone considering this gym to keep very close track of their account and billing. I don't see how an account can just randomly be reactivated and find it highly suspicious how $170 is even charged over just 4 months.

Fantastic experience: First time visiting and I have to say it was amazing! The staff is so kind. When I first entered I was instantly greeted by the front desk Manager Tristin. He gracefully assisted us by explaining our membership and all the perks it comes with as well as given a tour of the facility. Then introduced us to Corey who is one of the fitness trainers at the establishment! He helped with me with my fitness goals and ways to get my journey started. I felt so welcomed and know this is the perfect place for me to start my fitness journey.
Fantastic experience: Good gym. They leave you alone. No drama. Easy workouts. Desperate for a sauna to be added though. Pleeeease add a sauna.

Negative experience: The gym is fine for what you get. The staff says hello if they are not looking at the phone when you arrive. The bathrooms are clean enough, but one of the soap dispensers has been useless for over a year. The paper towels on the floor being filled are 50/50. The etiquette is on par with others, if you're not there during kid fest 3-7 PM, then it's a disaster. People love to park it on the machines, grab weights off rack and do an exercise without stepping away (step away so others can grab weights) and read text, watch tv etc. and don't understand sharing. The pandemic has helped keep the equipment cleaner, but that has slipped with it subsiding. Wipe the equipment off when finished. However, the real problem as usual, the contracts. Not sure how and why they can get away with this, it is borderline criminal. I received a notice of the rate increase 9/30 and went in 10/3 to cancel. You should give a months’ notice, not 11 days. They informed me that since I was not within 10 days of my next month's renewal, they will be charging me next month. In addition, there is an annual membership cost. Since that is 10 days from renewal as well, they will be charging me for it. I have not been to the gym in over a month from lingering ailments and a death in the family that took me to Maryland for 2 weeks. Then on 10/1, I went over the handlebars on my bike and will not be in for another month at least. There was always an option to come back to that gym, but not with this kind of communication. There is no excuse for that kind of contract or for businesses to run this way. We have great options in Anderson and this is no longer one. Even if I will be paying more, you get a lot more for the dollar especially with their new monthly processing $1.99 fee, base going to $15.99 err $17.98 (processing fee) and annual costs of $49.99 that takes you to $22.14 on a monthly basis. Last, when I jokingly stated I'll simply cancel the debit card associated, she said that's fine but the collections we send after you is relentless. If that is their rules, It is my fault for not reading the fine print, who does. There are gyms in the area with no contracts or annual fees and more amenities. At $10 it was worth keeping whether I went or not, but at $21 with fees and annual membership, no thanks. And to not waive at least the annual membership, is shady.

Fantastic experience: Even though the location is convenient and the staff is very friendly, the Anderson crunch is in desperate need of lots of repair on machines that either are coming apart, loose, or don't work!!!… Please help!

Positive experience: It’s a good gym in comparison to others nearby. Only complaint I have is the stair masters tend to break quickly, and the turf could use a cleaning bc the odor isn’t pleasant. Other than that, it’s pretty clean, organized, and has everything you need pretty much. I also don’t have kids but I do know that they use to have a kids section but it’s not there anymore…

Negative experience: Avoid this gym at all cost if you can. Initially, I signed up for the classes, which are not at convenient times for people who work typical 9 to 5s, so that became moot. First class I went to was called "turbo tread" and the instructor didn't acknowledge me or help me find any of the equipment. I wasn't expecting a red carpet, but a hi would have been nice. Luckily, a nice man walked me through how to use their treadmills, which was the only positive of the class. I went to cancel my membership, which they make incredibly difficult as you have to walk in and sign paperwork (even though you don't have to do this to sign up?), only for them to put my membership in "pending status" after I cancelled. Which charged me another $35 for a month I didn't use. Spoke with the GM, Mike, who said they don't charge a cancellation fee, yet one showed up for $99 in my bank account. Looked over my paperwork and the reasoning for charging me $99? Cancellation fee. Crunch is a company full of scammy management and I should have just listened to everyone who told me so.
Fantastic experience: This is my 5th week at Crunch Anderson. I decided to sign up for personal training in an effort to have 1 on 1 guidance to meet my fitness goals. That has been a great decision. If you are looking for highly skilled personal training, I highly recommend Terry. He’s personable & knowledgeable and is dedicated to helping you meet your fitness goals. He will tailor workouts to your preferences and is open to any variety of workouts you want. I asked to add a boxing workout to one of my sessions and it has been a great addition to my weekly training. Do your kickoff meeting with Terry and be specific about your goals and you will see results in no time.

Negative experience: Switched gyms because the machines are always broken and never get fixed causing long lines waiting for equipment. Been a problem for years. Went to cancel my membership mainly because I moved and was told since my membership renews this week I will still get charged 80 bucks even though I can’t go after the day I canceled. Been at a new gym for a month now and the difference is night and day. I have been told by multiple people now that they have had problems being charged by crunch after leaving or the same problem I had. If they are going to scam money off of people you think they could pay employees more than ten dollars an hour and afford to replace equipment.

Negative experience: Worst gym ever. Employees are slow and don’t know anything about customer service. How are you not going to document when I canceled my membership and then charge me over $300. I’m honestly probably the reason yall are still in business. Lock in or just give up.

Negative experience: they will talk a sweet talk to get you to join: join now, no contract. pay month-to -month. etc. boom, you sign up and then have to cancel because you move and there are no crunch fitness where you move. so when i called, they "apologized" and told me it was in the contract--a contract that was never produced or emailed to me. but they told me that i am "locked" in for a year. thank God I have a great bank, that will be blocking their charges. swindlers disguised as a fitness club. STAY AWAY and if you get duped into joining, ask them to read you the caveats and "fine print."

Negative experience: Don't forget to cancel your membership before you move out of state. You can't cancel over the phone. You can't cancel via email. You can't send a letter requesting cancellation to the location outlined in the terms, they will ignore it. They will continue to charge you regardless of the agreement you sign. Best way is to call your credit card company and request a permanent hold!! Terrible company only looking to charge your card and milk you until you think outside the box.

Fantastic experience: Crunch is clean, well staffed, and has a nice selection of equipment. If a machine that I want is being used there is usually an alternative I can do, or go do something else and circle back. I feel like Crunch caters to all level of fitness. You can’t beat the value for the money! My personal trainer Mac S. Has sculpted my body exactly as I had hoped. He pushes me and encourages me so that I can meet and exceed my goals. The front desk staff is helpful and I highly recommend Crunch.

Fantastic experience: Crunch is always clean, every time I walk into the restroom it's also clean. The staff is polite and respectful every time I go in, which is 2-3 times a week. I workout with my 14 year old and he likes it there and has no issues as well. I've never had any problems with fellow visitors/customers. And I don't have to wait very long for a machine if I do have to wait. (3-4 minutes at most) I feel comfortable every time I'm in there. I highly recommend Crunch Fitness if you're looking for a place to get into shape!

Fantastic experience: Clean. Longer hours. Cross Fit, Nautilus, free weights, classes, bikes, oliptical. Plenty of machines to get full body work out. Massage chairs and tanning. Parking is a bit cramped during busy hours

Negative experience: They are never open when they are supposed to be open. 10 days a month they just have nobody there to open the gym. It is not uncommon to have 10 to 15 people waiting outside of the gym waiting for someone to get there to open it up. They need to put the managers phone number on the front door so people have someone to call when an employee does not show up so they can drive over.

Fantastic experience: Went with a friend as a guest last week and we dropped off her kid at the kid watch. Her daughter has separation anxiety and can get overwhelmed but the girl back there was so so great. She introduced herself “Ariel like the mermaid”. Really appreciated that and that even when we walked by she was playing and interacting with the kids. My friends daughter didn’t want to leave!

Negative experience: Signed up for a membership. Went there maybe 3 times. Didn't really like the facilities. Be warned if you don't pay up immediately and cancel, their policy states thier allowed to keep running a Bill up in your name and you have to pay it before you can cancel. Honestly that's really the Most pathetic thing you can do on to any given person. I feel taken advantage of and the fact they were not willing to work things out with me after only being there three times and still billing me to this day really shows how much they actually care about their members and people in general. Worst Fitness Center ever. Do yourself a favor and go to planet fitness or if you have the money to spend, the Beechmont Raquet and fitness club.

Negative experience: I tried a one day trial at this gym a week ago and I didn’t plan on joining because frankly the machines are outdated and they had no paper towels or soap in the bathroom but they keep texting, calling and sending me messages ! They are no better than scam callers. Do not recommend joining or giving them your personal information.

Positive experience: Great atmosphere when guys aren’t dropping weights on the ground. And the facility is not as clean as other facilities.
Positive experience: It takes a long time to fix machines and water leaking from AC and has been for a while. You get dripped on during the exercise.

Negative experience: The gym is dirty. The women’s bathroom toilets are always dirty. I would suggest having a schedule check off list to check clean restrooms 2X day. They’re out of paper towels and the cleaner usually on the weekends. The front desk is another story. Sometimes when I walk in the front desk group namely a few give me a stare, no hello, like high school mean girls look. I have often wanted to say” have I offended you?” Come on. I’m the customer. If it were not the only gig around besides Orange Theory and Mercy Health Plex, I would be gone. You could be a stellar place. Cleanliness and friendliness!!!

Negative experience: Staff seemed great, but they require a checking account to sign up? Sounds really scummy. The only reason you would do that is to make it difficult for people to cancel if they wanted to. Their loss, I was happy to pay the $22 a month or whatever just to use the treadmills. Now Ill buy one for home instead.

Negative experience: Today 13MAY2024, several pieces of equipment were REALLY STINKY. the ab slider machine, the shoulder lateral raise machine in particular. I had to clean them before I could even use them!!

Fantastic experience: Laura’s Yoga class is the best! It’s always a full class. I always feel so much better after her class. It would be awesome if she taught more yoga classes at Anderson Crunch since she is the only one I really like.

Fantastic experience: I love the classes at Crunch! Elaine is a fun instructor. I truly enjoy her classes. She’s very good at explaining the ballet steps. I love her yoga class. Her Pilate class is awesome. Elaine is always pushing us to our limit which I love.

Positive experience: Pros: Good hours, not as good as before covid but reasonable. Good equipment except leg equipment. Price very reasonable. Most staff courteous and friendly. New person every week though. Cons: Yes equipment is good (machines) when not broken. Seems 3 to 5 out of order all the time and takes months for them to be fixed. Packed during the day between teenagers and girls during their best to be noticed. If you are looking for a good workout don't use any of the machines. Teenagers and the like occupying machines or equipment taking 15 seconds for one set then 5 minutes between sets on their phones while sitting on the machine. The phone usage is a real problem and Crunch seems to not care at all. One sign in the entire gym in an obscure place saying to not use cellphones. Its ignored. Best to go early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid the rush. Cellphone usage is all day. If you are looking for a good hard workout with the weights this isn't the gym for you. Other places much better. Teenagers on phones and others make a timely good hard workout pretty much impossible. Finally the music sucks butt. Yes I know its supposed to be background noise but really, techno dance music? Blows.

Negative experience: Lemme start by saying the staff is great, and i believe it’s unlikely the issues with this location stem from them, but rather from management’s inaction (at the store or district level). For such a large location, they are sorely lacking equipment—particularly attachments for machines, bands, and racks. Even on a Saturday afternoon when hardly anyone is there, one must wait for handles or ropes to do cable exercises because there is 1 or 2 of everything, despite there being a plethora of machines. Plus, 2 platforms for a whole gym? How do they think that will suffice at peak hours? From what i understand, your staff has made it clear that they are lacking the equipment necessary for things to run smoothly, and yet no changes have been made. Supposedly, you’re hiring folks who are knowledgeable about exercising and how to run a gym… perhaps you should listen to them.

Fantastic experience: This gym is so fire. People who don’t like it are just haters. how is the gym supposed to control how many people go. and i know that during the day it is not that busy so people are complain can go in then. this gym has all the equipment you need. and the older people complaining about teenagers on there phones are the same ones who sit on the machine talking to other people for 20 minutes.

Positive experience: Crunch is a very well-appointed and -equipped gym and workout facility. The trainers with whom I have dealt there have been professional, accommodating and patient. My sole complaint is that it does seem to take a long time for damaged equipment to be repaired... and often the repair has to do with loose screws/nuts that get looser and looser over weeks until they finally fall out and are misplaced or thrown away. Much of this could be prevented just by someone doing a quick go-over of the machines each day, and having a few tools handy to tighten that which is loose..

Fantastic experience: I am so excited to be back at Crunch Anderson. Amy Nichols is an amazing Ride instructor, who always has the best variety of music to motivate every rider in the class. I have left every class energized and regenerated. Don't miss Amy's other fantastic Crunch classes-Belly, Butt & Thighs, Top it Off, Absolution, Overdrive, Band Camp, The Push Point, & TRX-all music driven with fun and excitement. Also, I want to give a special shout out to another awesome Ride instructor-Betsy! Her class is the best way to start a Monday to get you energized for the rest of the week. She has great music to keep the ride pumped up!

Fantastic experience: I really like the Anderson Crunch. The staff are very nice and always friendly. They keep it pretty clean and that’s got to be tough with all the members that workout there. I love the HIT ZONE as I do CrossFit at the gym.

Positive experience: So sometimes they have the spray to sanitize the machines is really strong and I have a respiratory illness, and it affects me strongly, and I have to leave to very strong smelling sanatory thing. Otherwise everything else was good today. Usually they’re playing music too loud. It’s like any kind of strong smells or bad for people who have respiratory illness, strong, candles, or anything like that
