Positive experience: The gym is a great space but… it’s mainly just the smell/overall look replace their carpet and paint their walls. The gym is in great condition otherwise:)
Negative experience: I am female, was swimming in the pool, wasn’t given closing warning and new to the hours, harrassed by 3-4 guys locking the back door so I couldn’t get to my car. Hostile and won’t go back 100% don’t feel comfortable taking a shower there again. Creepy.

Negative experience: First off $50 a month for a year which is $600 that you cannot cancel unless you pay that $600, or however much you owe is crazy. For a place that is so outdated and gross. So unsanitary even though there are wipes people don’t use them. Half the stuff in that building needs to be replaced some the seats are ripping, not to mention you don’t get any benefits of bringing a friend with you. And if you don’t use your membership and would like to let your family members use it, they cannot. I just can’t think of any benefits they provide us, this gym isn’t worth $50 a month in my eyes. The only thing they offer you is a free smoothie card when you first start, and someone in the gym stole it from me. So I just wouldn’t trust your stuff there without a lock. There are better options
Fantastic experience: So many cool older machines (still in great condition), huge gym, traveller friendly with a $12 daily pass (most other gyms in the area were trying to charge $20 per day, that’s what I pay per month back home in Utah!)
Fantastic experience: Great club style gym. Membership includes spa and pool, cable weights, free weights, machines, basketball court, and racket ball courts.
Positive experience: I'm loving the swim aerobics class!!
Negative experience: No towels?! Why would a gym charge $40-$50 a MONTH and not provide towels?! Cheap and LAZY that’s why!!
Ozella, thanks for your feedback. It was determined that not handling towels was in the best interest of the members and employees due to safety and sanitation concerns. We do however offer a new towel to keep at no charge for those first timers that may forget. So certainly not a fiscal issue.

Fantastic experience: They take Silver sneakers and have a pool!! Basic requirements for seniors
Positive experience: A full service gym for an affordable price for how many amenities are offered. First walking in I noticed there was an old, musty smell and was quite out dated, and the carpets were stained and very worn. Sadly overall it was kind of dingy and definitely needed some TLC.
Positive experience: Been coming here since I lived locally growing up, in high school. Wish the lighting in the locker room area was NOT wallmart style bright and that the hot tub was functioning. Also wish they had a plant based protein option for their prepared smoothies which are pretty yummy. The talking massage chairs which verbally demand money from you are both funny and obnoxious.
Jacob, thanks for the feedback. The lighting throughout the building is eco friendly LED, very important in today's environment. We were broken into a few weeks ago and Jacuzzi area was vandalized so we had to redo it. It has been repaired and will be a toasty 104 in the morning. There are some plant based options on the smoothie menu, next time in it's on me. As for the chairs,first minute is free.Charlie, owner
Fantastic experience: I recently joined Shasta Athletics. I am a Silver Sneaker. Full club access. I am currently enjoying the classes for us 3 times a week. Everyone is so helpful and friendly.
Fantastic experience: Due to rising prices, their massage parlor has adjusted the price. I understand very well, because the cost of massage parlors is increasing, and they have superb massage techniques, which can soothe the skin and relax the mood. We like this place very much. Friends who saw this message You can try it, it's worth having
Negative experience: I was there for maybe 10 minutes starting my free trial. The employees didn’t offer any sort of tour, didn’t tell me where anything was, I had to ask. Not the worst thing in the world, but was a bit unprofessional. The locker rooms sucked. The showers didn’t have partitions or curtains, and the lockeroom was a bit dirty. I’m comparing this place to the ymca, who are 100000x better than this place in nearly every category. The employees were not very friendly.

Fantastic experience: I did the Pilates class today and soaked in the hot tub afterwards. That made my day!
Fantastic experience: The staff are always welcoming and helpful. The equipment is well maintained. They offer tons of instructed classes that come with membership. They have a smoothie/shake bar. There is plenty of workout equipment so I can get a good workout in even during high volume times. After my workout I can go enjoy the suana or jacuzzi or even go for a swim.

Negative experience: I have been trying to cancel my subscription for 5 years and every time I get in contact with anyone “we have no record of your request” . I have paid out thousands to this club who doesn’t care. I haven’t even lived in California for over 5 years. Can’t do anything over the phone, won’t help you out in any way.
Positive experience: I give it 4 stars because my visit was to introduce myself to the facility. It has a pool jacuzzi sauna full gym physical therapy yoga classes aerobic classes something for everyone. I'm very eager to get started there.

Fantastic experience: Really great place in my opinion. I can't really think of a major amenity that they are missing. Half-basketball court, lots of Racketball courts, sauna, lap pool, hot tub, etc. In addition, the owner is local, so it's a great way to support small business owners in Redding.

Fantastic experience: This gym has everything! Weight area may seem a little cramped, but the people here are courteous and do not hog the equipment. It has two floors and evidently has group classes in various rooms throughout the day. Also equipped with saunas, pool, and spa as well.

Positive experience: It's a great gym, Charlie is super nice whenever I see him he sais hi and waves, all the employees are awesome, Brandon is very helpful, they've been doing some updates, can't wait for the jacuzzi to re open!
Positive experience: Its not a bad place to train at. The first thing you see is the equipment is very old equipment. The weights are mixed matched as well. Its a good gym for the family because there is a pool, saunas, and many classes that are offered to the gym goers. I only use the gym for weight lifting and sometimes the sauna. I wished they would update the equipment because some of those old ones have pulleys in weird positions that sometimes get in the way of you exercising. Overall, its a good gym to go to if you don't mind the old building and old equipment. You can definitely get a workout in.

I must admit I find this review puzzling, I would be glad to “advocate” if I knew specifics in this case, by not reaching out to me with whatever the issue is (and I am not hard to reach) does no more good then what the reviewer accuses us of. In my 40 years of management I have a stellar record and reputation for the well being of all my members. There are certainly situations when something goes wrong – absolutely, new precedence that are created outside of our control. We have complete proactive safety protocols and procedures in place that I am proud of and continuously evaluate. Help us help your concerns call me with your issue 241-7711 ext 310. Charlie, owner.
Negative experience: The worst most unprofessional gym in town the staff is never happy the childcare is even worse! They have an employee in child care that brings her own kids and does not vaccinate her kids and only takes care of her kids!!!! The gym manager is always unfriendly and all the equipment is breaking!!!!

Fantastic experience: Love it here. Nice vibe. Load of equipment. A member of 7 months now. The sauna and jacuzzi is why I got my membership here. I love that it's mostly older people. Got a discount for being in school and a being a couple. The staff are chill. The child care is very convenient!

Really? Be a responsible reviewer. I am going to review you...you are an irresponsible person. People are trying to provide quality services, provide jobs and do good work and to people like you it is a big joke, grow up.
Negative experience: Had a membership for a few months. Not impressed with the facility. Broken equipment placed outside of the facility. Not a gym that I felt comfortable at. Decided to switch to another local gym.

Negative experience: Changing the times an hour earlier I loved this gym now they close super early word of advice PLANET FITNESS
After researching our usage we determined closing an hour earlier did not affect but a couple of our members. We still open earlier and and stay open later on many of days then the fitness facility you mentioned. Unfortunately we could not find you as a member in order to notify you in advance of the small change to our schedule.

Fantastic experience: A genuine health club facility with amazing staff , this place has a great impact on its members as they help them to develop a healthy lifestyle. It's a huge gym family! This place provides a huge selection of equipment and free weights to utilize. Additionally, they provide a vast array of classes, my favorite being the Spin classes. I'm super excited about their newest gym membership option: Lifestyle Membership!!! I have personally lost over 50lbs in one year. This place has changed my life dramatically in a positive form!

Zilla, I understand that there was a policy of ours that displeased you and that you already spoke to our team about it in person. We do not and will not allow anyone to leave their children in our childcare and go out of town to work. I'd like to reiterate that we treat each child in our childcare with the utmost respect, and all of our policies are there to ensure their safety and others'. Positive experience: Premier gym here in the North State .. full workout facilities, trainers, swimming pool whirlpool, racquetball courts,, outstanding staff,, special events,, located walking distance for the Sundial Bridge and all points on the Sacramento River
Negative experience: Been here a year and have seen the gym in a steady decline. Broken equipment not repaired, equipment not maintained, dirty, men's showers rarely have soap dispensers filled, no working, accurate scales, recent new lighting nice but amateurishly done. When I see a piece of equipment that needs attention I immediately tell staff but not once has the issue been dealt with. To bad. A gym with potential is going to shambles.... I will not renew.

Negative experience: We have double billing each month. It's a waste of at least 2 days a month to call everyone to get it refunded.
Mark what you are seeing are the resubmit and the associated fees because the dues will not go through on your current method of payment. We have on numerous occasions waived those fees infact. Perhaps providing us with an alternative method of payment would help. Charlie, Owner

Positive experience: Although this gym appears dated, the staff, the facilities, and the diverse array of amenities are head and shoulders above what the rest of Redding offers. Highly recommend to students as well!

Last year we replaced the entire air handling system. 2 weeks ago switched out all the club lighting to LED. And have more coming. Positive experience: gym is always clean staff is super friendly, every now and then you find a machine down or something that needs fixed and it seems to take a while to get fixed. Seems like they should be on top of it. But other than that its awesome there

Fantastic experience: I love this place. Staff is friendly and you've got all the equipment you need for an awesome workout. Plus the sauna, hot tub and lap pool! Racquet ball courts, basketball courts, special fitness classes galore. Two levels of cardio equipment .. the place is big! And it doesn't feel like a "meat market". Everybody there just wants to get and stay fit! Bonus is the tanning room!! And free child care while you work out! They offer a free day pass! Go check them out!!
