Fantastic experience: I've been going to sunoaks since I was a kid, learned to swim in the outdoor pool, which was the only pool, then in my 20 took a class with Dave and got into Triathlons. The atmosphere is great, people are awesome and with all the different things you can do and classes to take, you can't bet it. Best place in Redding.

Fantastic experience: I am very happy with my membership here. I utilize the classes the most and they all have been described accurately. I like the app, it makes it easy to sign up for classes and daycare. The day care has grown into a great place for my kids. It’s clean and I like the way everything is set up. I take my kids to the pool, which is heated and covered in the winter and outside during summer.

Positive experience: The weights are limited, atleast they kinda have 1 of every most basic machines. ALLOT of people come to work out here in a small cramped awkward room, and the sauna in the mens locker is always either way over temped or super low temp. 180-190°f is recommended but atleast it works right? Music is not workout music and its kinda depressing and loud enough to not be ignored most of the time. Think one of the staffs going though a break-up or something. Overall, Good staff, its a place that has a gym and saunas but not for you if thats the only thing your interested in. Youd come here if you also care about the pools and tennis, otherwise shasta Athletics is your best bet.

Fantastic experience: Nancy Cardoso is by far the best indoor cycling instructor you have at Sun Oaks! Her Monday/Wednesday classes are challenging, inspiring and a lot of fun!!

Fantastic experience: I've been a member here for years. The group classes, which are what I attend most frequently, are wonderful. I so appreciate the support I get from the trainers and group leaders. They are encouraging and edifying and have helped me reach my fitness goals. My kids have taken many lessons here (Angie and the swim program do fantastic work!) and have attended summer camp, which they always look forward to. I also really appreciate the sense of community that is cultivated here. I would recommend Sun Oaks to anyone looking for a place to get healthy, meet some friends, and feel supported.

Fantastic experience: We have been members at Sun Oaks for 15 plus years. This is our happy place and we enjoy tennis and yoga here in our retirement years. The staff is outstanding! Great place for the entire family.

Positive experience: Sun Oaks is a nice gym. I enjoyed the swim lessons. The jacuzzi is outside and it’s fun looking up at the sky and breathing fresh air. staffs are super friendly and classes are great too!

Fantastic experience: I come to swim laps mostly and even though everything was filled up, I was able to share a lane for a while and then a lane opens up. Staff greeted me warmly at the front desk. I greeted Matt and after my swim,I was even able to visit with Stephen one of the custodians who shared some new Hemi melon with me. Friendly place!

Fantastic experience: Weight and cardio rooms need to be upgraded equipment and expanded. It's pretty crowded at times. Nevertheless, it is the best facility in my life--friendly staff who are never familiar but always courteous and professional. Superior pool for training and the finest swim instructors for my grandkids!

Fantastic experience: Kathy is a great yoga instructor. She explains very well on how to do the poses and if you still need help she will come over and sit by you and show you exactly how to do the pose. She also makes the class fun.

Fantastic experience: We went for a racquet for my grandson. The front desk lady was friendly and eager to help. The tennis pro that helped us was very nice and asked great questions to provide the proper racquet! The price was amazing! Thank you, Sun Oaks, for providing such a great program.

Fantastic experience: Since Maddie has taken over managing the playhouse at Sun Oaks I have noticed a vast difference in the quality of care and cleanliness of the playhouse. It was not bad before, don't get me wrong, but it is just top-notch and stellar now. Maddie has very high standards for the people who provide care for the children at the gym, and I so appreciate the effort and detail she and her team put into this place. I take my children there nearly every weekday and I feel confident leaving them there. Keep up the great work playhouse team!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff. Wide selection of strength training equipment ranging from light to very heavy. Many dumbbells and squat rocks. Could definitely do some powerlifting here. Two pools, adult-only hot tub and all ages hot tub. Male and female dry saunas. Cold plunge during the winter. Nice selection of healthy food snack options on the go. High-end massage chairs. Great class selection. Easy registration through the app. Childcare and recreation room. Great gym all around. Could use a remodel though - a bit dated. Otherwise, great gym!

Fantastic experience: We absolutely love Sun Oaks! The swim lessons are amazing and both of my boys love going. They have done such a great job teaching my boys how to swim and we’re so thankful for Angie and all the instructors.

Fantastic experience: Quality club for people of all ages and experience levels. I've been lifting for 20 years and have no problem finding all the equipment I need. Child care is also top notch for gyms in our community. Our two year old has been going to daycare here for a year and a half and always looks forward to gym time!

Fantastic experience: This gym is beautiful with friendly staff! My kids do the tennis program and have an absolute blast. The swim program is amazing as well. I love the effort this gym has put into programs for not only adults, but the youth. I love taking my family here and plan to do so as long as we can.

Fantastic experience: Sun Oaks! We love Sun Oaks and all te he staff, not to mention all the awesome members! This is definitely our favorite local fitness center and gym with tennis and swimming!

Positive experience: I am happy with the facilities, it is a huge stress relief to go there and sit outside to relax. The bird situation with the nesting in the pool area needs to be remedied though. I am grossed out by bird poop, feathers and materials from the birds tearing it up and it floating in the pool while I try to exercise.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been members here for almost a year now and it has been a great experience. Very nice supportive people, a great tennis program, plenty of equipment and facility space not related to tennis, and a rather unique “campus design” of the buildings. So there’s one building with weights, one with cardio and a basketball court and additional training space, a building mainly just for classes/studios, a huge indoor tennis court building with three courts, a bunch of outdoor courts, two pools, etc. About the only criticism is the locker rooms and showers need renovation, but they are doing some sorely needed expansion and updates on the individual saunas so that’s cool. This is probably the best full service gym in Redding and a great little community.

Fantastic experience: Best gym for tennis in the Redding area, with various events throughout the years. The gym also has great pools. The only real downside is that the main weight room can get a bit crowded.

Positive experience: Great team, incredible courts, smaller gym, two and a half pools, two hot tubs, saunas, a well rounded country club. Although, personally, I go for the gym, which could use some upgrades, it it relatively small with limited equipment.

Fantastic experience: I grew up at Sun Oaks, just recently moved back to Redding and I love what’s been done with the facilities! Such a welcoming place, great for kids - my husband and I love dropping the kids at daycare on a Saturday morning, getting a workout in and some time in the hot tub before getting on with our weekend

Fantastic experience: This is a review for the parent/tot swim classes. Angie is an amazing instructor. She is so friendly and eased my nerves with my 6mo and helped my daughter feel comfortable too. Megan frequently helped her classes and she is great as well!
