Fantastic experience: Visited alpena for 3 weeks for work and decided to join the gym to go as best I could given busy schedule. Their hours accommodated and instructors noticed I was new and made a point to ask about me. Fun classes with a consistent group to keep you motivated.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my experience at the Bay, starting with the the people at the desk. I am always greeted and have a friendly experience. I have never had any issues with the Bay and I recommend for anyone who wants to have access to a public gym!

Fantastic experience: Cindy Limback’s class 03/21/2024 was incredible! I burned fully a third more calories than my usual 6 am class. The moves were simple and straightforward. But so much fun and effective. The music was great and we were done right on time, leaving smiling and sweaty to face the rest of the day. Bay Athletic Club is the best way to start your Morning!

Negative experience: I thought I was going to be able to join Bay Athletic Club because I had a membership number from Silver Sneakers. When I walked in the gym and walked up to the counter I was told that my Silver Sneakers membership is no good. How insane is that!! Is Bay athletic club that good that they can't let lowly senior citizens in to work out. From what I saw Bay Athletic Club is no better than a Planet Fitness in downtown Detroit. Shame on you Bay Athletic Club for picking on gently aged people on a fixed income ❣️

Fantastic experience: Extremely clean and welcoming environment. Talented trainers and instructors. Wide array of cardio and strength training equipment. SO many classes to choose from that you can do in person or virtually. They even offer a free personal training/getting started right appointment when you join.

Fantastic experience: The Bay Athletic Club is the best gym I have gone too. I love their classes! The instructors are so supportive and encouraging. They always have up to date machines, that are very well taken care of, and are always expanding on their equipment as well. The staff is excellent and are always willing to help too.

Positive experience: OK, and now a review from an ACTUAL member. Pros: Equipment is very-well maintained and when something needs repair, it is fixed quickly. Staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Cons: This is a VERY small and basic fitness center. Only a handful of people can comfortably use the locker room facilities at one time. Extremely small amount of cardio equipment for being the only fitness center in town. Only 5 treadmills, 8-10 elliptical and 3 ARC trainers; unless you go at the slow times, you will most likely be waiting on equipment. For $50 a month you'd think they could better outfit the place.

Fantastic experience: I’m naturally introverted and the staff & members of this gym are so lovely and welcoming. Everyone is very inspiring, helpful and kind. There’s a women’s room for my fellow anxious gals. Such a positive environment, really motivates me to do better both inside and outside of fitness :) haven’t been a member long but hoping to be for awhile

Positive experience: Don't get me wrong I support Alpena businesses but for how much they charge per month there isn't much they provide equipment wise and space wise and its constantly packed making you wait around and not get the full potential of your workout. The staff is great and very helpful,very clean facility and well kept equipment and I'm sure the specific classes are great but not everybody wants to do classes. It's more of a $15 a month club you're really just paying for the classes that you don't use. Great environment but for the money it needs to be bigger to accommodate all the people or open another gym somewhere else. I've lost 100 pounds in that gym and I would absolutely recommend it to any body but it all comes down to space and price. It would also be nice if they were open 24/7 or had much longer open times especially on weekends when people actually have more time to go.
