Negative experience: Worst YMCA I have ever been to in my entire life time. They changed the C in YMCA from Christian to Cult. One bad egg ruins them all and that’s especially true in leadership. There is a reason this Y continues to suffer. The people there that don’t see this are consciously choosing to be blind.

Fantastic experience: The Alliance Ohio YMCA was sold there is a daycare called Stuckey Interfaith Childcare services a everyone was told they had 2 weeks and they are closing go online and sign the petition please

Negative experience: This is the worst YMCA I have ever been too. It's a shame my son's basketball team has to come here every year to play as the parents constantly use foul language and disrespectful and the unprofessional sports director that comes up to the games and only roots the Alliance team on. I have never seen such bad behavior at any other YMCAs as you do at the Alliance one. My child will NEVER come back into such a commotional reckless environment. It's been that way the last 3 years.

Negative experience: Andrea Lee is beyond unprofessional. She'll yell at you and make false accusations, then apologize 10 minutes later after she's done raging out.

Fantastic experience: Love the alliance Y!

Positive experience: I pay for a family membership but as an adult, I am the only one who benefits from the membership. My 6 year old is required to go to daycare area when I work out even though it is geared towards toddlers. My other elementary aged child basically sits in a corner playing on the phone while I workout. He would love to take group exercise classes or use basic exercise equipment but he isn't allowed, even with me supervising. It is really disappointing for him. They don't have any other activities for kids his age either. I enjoy going to the Y as an adult but both kids hate going so I don't get to go as much as I like. I don't think there is any real benefit to paying extra for a family plan unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: I love meeting people of all ages while exercising. We are all there for one goal; to become healthier and better versions of ourselves. I feel extremely comfortable throughout each part of the facility. It is my happy place.

Positive experience: I go for the water fitness classes. Michelle is a great instructor!!! Usually the water is the “just right temperature”, but today it was too cold for me and could hardly wait to finish the class. I would like the women’s locker room by the pool to be cleaner. It has been newly painted but I feel it needs a DEEP cleaning. A noticeable improvement was done a few months ago but it seems to be slipping again. Sanitation and cleanliness should be a top priority in this type of facility in my opinion. Thank you to the friendly staff! I’m thankful to have a YMCA in Alliance!

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy this gym! The entire facility is modern and well equipped and the staff always greets you with personality. I've spent years being a daily gym rat at other gyms like PowerHouse and World Gym (I'll even admit a short membership at Planet Fitness) but none have the community feel and the variety that the YMCA has. If you are a gym rat, put your ego aside and you'll find that this gym gives back to the community and that feels pretty good knowing your money is an investment and not just a fee.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been members for years and both services and facility have gotten better. Lots to offer the community and even when we weren’t actively attending we continued to suppprt the programs and community outreach.

Fantastic experience: Form your own opinions-as for me this place is great. I read all 17 reviews before writing my own. Lots of information and yes it use to be out dated and things were not as clean as many would like but THINGS HAVE CHANGED. The gym the locker rooms the safety entry system the staff the weights the aerobics rooms my list could go a lot longer. I love the staff and other members whom I have meant in the past 6 months. The pool is awesome and I coach swimming so know a little about this area. I would like to add a few perks are great here also. A family day, a gift for Dad's on Father's Day and today they had delicious fresh apples at the front desk that were complimentary. I highly recommend if you have not been here in the past year come back. Ranked for me high and a 5 star

Negative experience: I utilize the child care for after school care until I get off work and during the summer so I can keep my job. I rely on this place to give good service. It would be much cheaper to drop him off somewhere where they'll put him in front of a TV all day. So I spend 150 a week at the YMCA. You'd think if you were expressing concerns about bullying going on not only but students but a particular staff member saying extremely inappropriate mean things to your son such as "I don't know how anyone can even deal w/ a kid like you" you'd be met with equal concern and goals for resolution. Not the Alliance YMCA, both Lindsay the child care director and rich the executive director (leaving in a few weeks) both decided to turn this into an attack against my son who "may not be a good fit for the YMCA" . I tell my son to stand near staff to avoid the chance of getting into a fight w/ someone who wants to bully, and the staff member sends him to the back of the line telling him she can't deal w/ him or something along those lines. If anyone knows my kids, they aren't bad. I don't even let my 12 year old watch R rated movies. I hear him play video games online so I know he doesn't have a vulgar mouth beyond a 12 year old w/ a sense of humor. Instead of focusing on preventing bullying and resolving the issue, all they cared about was fighting me on what day they wanted to suspend my son. (Which punishes me more than him as I pay for the service so I can not have my work affected)

Positive experience: Small Staff is trying to maintain a massive building. We love the facilities and the atmosphere. Hope it only changes for the better

Negative experience: Worst looking YMCA I've ever been to... The staff is friendly but the facility is a dump! Equipment is not even close to any other YMCA standard I've ever seen. Pool is nice and warm but the jacuzzi is a stainless steel bathtub with the weekest jet stream ever. No way this organization on a national level should allow this! The entire upstairs gym area looks worse than anything.

Negative experience: I feel like giving them a whole star is being polite. It's over priced and understaffed. The building is old and outdated. So bad that the roof leaks when it rains. I've gone here for over 2 years and watched less and less people join. Why go here when you can go to a better location for less. And actually enjoy your surroundings.
