Steel Fitness Premier: Opinions

Fantastic experience: An exceptional standout gym in the area. Clean amenities, updated lifting machines, several squat racks, and a subdued, calm atmosphere for any types of workout. The running track, pool, sauna, hot tub, and steam room are all top notch as well. The facility also hosts classes like yoga for members. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommended!
Fantastic experience: My credit card account was compromised back in July after returning from vacation. Once I confirmed the charges on my CC account were not valid my, card was immediately inactivated. This card was attached to many vendor accounts including Steel. It was a little overwhelming attempting to remember how vendors I needed to contact and update with new information. I contacted Steele and they updated my card over the phone. I thought that when I updated my account that it updated my husband’s account as well but found out today that we were set up individually and not the family plan. So his account went into arrears. Kalisah was the front desk Rep that helped us sort through everything today and notified me that my husband was listed separately. My card being compromised and inactivated has been extremely frustrating, and I am so thankful for Kalisah’s patience and kindness today. She took the time to help us sort through everything and understand why my husband’s Steele account was in arrears and not up to date with the payments. She updated his payment with my new card and added the new card to his account for me. The front desk was very busy at the time but Kalisah provided outstanding customer service to everyone that approached the front desk including me and my spouse. Very thankful for her patience, understanding, guidance and problem solving today. Kalisah is the ultimate Rock Star⭐️
Negative experience: This place is gross, outdated, and the staff will do everything in their power not to fix things. I will bet money that they still haven’t fixed the sauna door and the yoga mats and shower curtains are still nasty. Horrible.
Fantastic experience: Tried the gym through a gym pass. Gym was clean, machines weren’t crammed, and staff was polite! You will get what you pay for with a large, well-kept, and beautiful gym!
Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for almost 2 years now, I love this gym. They have very friendly staff and plenty of equipment for cardio or lifting. The locker room, showers, bathrooms are also kept impeccably clean, which is a difficult task to accomplish in a gym this big.
Fantastic experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I pulled up to Steel Fitness Premier on a 7-day pass my friend put me on to, and right from the jump—this place hit different. Clean, super well-equipped, and had everything I didn’t even know I needed ️♂️. By the end of day one, I knew I was gonna join. What really sold me was the pool ♂️. I’ve been working through an injury, and being able to rehab in the water has been a game-changer for my recovery ♻️. It’s low impact, but still gets the body moving and the blood flowing. I’m feeling better already. The layout of the gym is smooth—tons of machines, solid free weight area, open space for stretching and mobility work ♂️, and even recovery options like the sauna ♂️. Whether you’re pushing weight, doing cardio, or just getting your steps in—Steel’s got the setup. And major props to the staff. From front desk to trainers, everyone’s welcoming and knowledgeable ✅. They make it feel more like a fitness community than just a gym. If you’re looking for a spot to train, heal, or just stay consistent in your routine, Steel Fitness Premier’s got you covered . I’m grateful I found it—perfect balance of intensity and recovery. Solid atmosphere ⚙️ Well-maintained equipment ♂️ Friendly vibe 10/10 would recommend

Positive experience: The staff was made aware of my intent to cancel and it was noted on my account 6 months prior. Still charging me an extra month fee for not giving a 30-day written notice. Business ethics and integrity could be improved with the handling of cancellations as I see this is a recurring theme on the reviews. Facility is great and the employees are professional. The experience of the exit leaves a sour taste.
Hi Andrew. We follow our cancellation policy as they are written in our contract. We apologize if you feel differently. We wish you the best of luck in your next endeavors.
Negative experience: I want to thank everyone who took the time to leave a review here. I am not a member, and my experience just trying to be a member was not good as well.
Hi Joe. If you can provide more information, we would be happy to help. Please give us a call at 610-973-1500 and ask for our Assistant General Manager. She will be able to assist you further.
Negative experience: Don't go here. Save yourself money and aggravation. I wouldn't recommend this gym for anyone, and would never go back. The gym requires 30-day notice for cancelling membership. That's standard, but it's also not true. The "30-day" notice "requires" an additional month according to their robot. When a month has 31 days, and you inform on the 1st of the month, 30 days wouldn't roll into another month. They can't do math though. I tried to cancel March 30th. No one in the office is apparently intelligent enough to fill out a form without one specific robot there, who only works Monday through Thursday. As other reviews mention, you must cancel in person. The gym isn't worth the cost. The pools may be heated, but they aren't warm. They are crowded with children, and not enjoyable because of it. The equipment they have available is dated and damaged which for the cost shouldn't be the case. I stopped using the gym after a few visits because of these issues. They want me to pay an extra month outside the "30-day" notice with no explanation of why 30 days actually isn't 30 days.
Hi Josh. 30-day notice means you will be billed for 1 more month, just like if someone said you must provide a 60-day notice, that means 2 final payments. We apologize that you are unable to understand business cancellation policies. Our staff was able to help guide you through our cancellation policy, however it is up to the member to respond appropriately to our cancellation procedure given. During your time at the club, we wish you would have taken the time to express your concerns. We have a full team of Management staff here that could have helped get your questions and concerns resolved when you were still an active member attending the gym. We wish you the best of luck in your next endeavors.
Positive experience: I bought the membership to use the lap pool specifically. There are 2 more pools one for therapy and the other is used for mainly aquatic excersize usually for 1-2 hours a day. That said, the issue I have is with the lap pool which only has 4 lanes for swimmers. 90% of the time, 1 of the 4 lanes is always reserved to teach swimming. That leaves 3 lanes for swimmers. Depending on the time of day it can get crowded with 2 or more swimmers using the same lane. I was told by one of the employees that the students taking the class were not members and were using the lane paid for or rented out by the swimm school. Well us swimmers pay for memberships too and we should not have to sacrifice a lane to teach swimming every day while there is another pool available... That is my opinion. Hopefully the swimm school grows out of 1 lane of a pool and constructs a pool to better serve their needs. But, I doubt it does...
Hello. There are designated times where swim lessons are not held. Hours are before 9:00am, between 1-3pm, and after 7:00pm. We encourage our members to utilize those swim times if they wish to avoid overcrowding or swim lessons. Our management team is always vigilant with our foot traffic in the pools and if at anytime we need to reassess, we will always be happy to do so.
Fantastic experience: Great classes with a variety of choices from HIIT to Cycle yoga Pilates and strength classes. Clean and love the pools and locker rooms
Hi Rosie! Thanks so much for your feedback. Our GroupX program is the Valley's choice year after year and we can't be more proud to hold the largest program with 80+ classes weekly! We appreciate you being part of the SFP family and glad we are able to provide all of the amenities and services you need for your health and wellness!
Negative experience: For the 10th time this month I've come to the gym after work only to find along with all the other members, that we can't use the turf, trx ropes, battle ropes, boxing equipment, stretching, kettlebells, med balls, and more, because the fitness class is there with blaring music in competition with the regular music being played in the rest of the gym. I've never seen this dumb of an idea continue in a gym when we pay to use the workout floor and then can't, because you rope off the turf every day after work at 530pm for a class. There are workout studios for classes, yet you continue to take space and equipment from the members who aren't paying for a trainer or class. There is literally nowhere for us to stretch, warm up, nothing.I'm quitting this place. 2 years of this is enough. The men's locker room has had 7 of 10 broken showers for over a year. It's not a great gym any longer for me. They need to take a lesson from the Sporting Club at the Bellevue, my prior gym, on customer etiquette and member retention, because this isn't doing it. My prior review: My only complaint about this gym is the daily use by the staff of the turf area to hold group workouts with blaring music. There is already music playing for the other gym members on the gym floor who are not in the "private" class. We don't need to hear both. Also, we can't use the turf area or its equipment when you close it off each day at 530 pm for this class. Why can't you go use one of your fitness rooms for this class the same way you do the spinning classes? You are only doing body weight circuits and currently it disrupts the rest of the gym. The reason I joined this gym was for all the turf equipment that other gyms don't have and this was part of the membership tour, and here I'm learning the hard way that you can't use any of it during the week from 530-730pm.
Hi JC Jr! Thanks so much for your feedback. We appreciate you being part of the SFP family and glad we are able to provide all of the amenities and services you need for your health and wellness! Our turf is designed for our group training program. That is where it was designed to take place and will remain there. Our studios are used for our 80+ groupX classes a week. If you'd like, try out our STT program and see what all the excitement and fun music is all about! :) Thank you!
Negative experience: **Very Poor Experience – Terrible Customer Service** I am beyond frustrated with my experience at this gym. Two months ago, I called to cancel my membership and was told that I needed to come in person to do so. I made the trip today, only to be told that they couldn’t cancel my membership at that time either. When I decided to stay and work out instead, they refused to even let me use the facilities! It’s clear that customer service is not a priority for this gym. I’ve been stuck in a membership I no longer want, and they’re making it impossible to cancel. I would strongly advise anyone considering this gym to think twice before committing. There’s no accountability, and they make the process of cancellation unnecessarily difficult. Save yourself the headache and find a gym with better service.
Hello, thank you for your feedback. Our club has administrative business hours through the week that any member can use to take care of their questions and concerns. The proper policies and procedures need to be followed as well. We strive to continue providing excellent customer service and member experience here at SFP and our team is dedicated to always maintain that as our priority. The proper process of cancelation is rather simple depending on the members account and situation. Please feel free to connect with our team in club during business hours or make an appointment to meet in person to handle any of your needs. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: I LOVE SWIMMING ♂️ ♥️ I ALSO ENJOY THE JACUZZI, THE SAUNA AND THE STEAMER. I GO IN THE EVENINGS FROM 8:00 - 10:00 PM. I FEEL FOREVER YOUNG, I ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF IT. IT'S A GREAT PLACE TO BE.
Hi Fanny! Thank you so much for your feedback. This is so great to hear! We appreciate you being part of the SFP family and glad we are able to provide all of the amenities and services you need for your health and wellness!
Fantastic experience: I love Steel Fitness; it's an excellent gym with plenty of space to do your workouts. You don't have to worry about what time to go, as there are always machines available, and it's always very clean. The staff is excellent, and their services are great too. I really like the place and recommend it to anyone.
Hi Pamela! Thanks so much for your feedback. We appreciate you being part of the SFP family and glad we are able to provide all of the amenities and services you need for your health and wellness!
Negative experience: Here is an honest review. Last month, my husband and I joined that gym after a lot of consideration. We joined it so he could use the pool to lose weight because he has bad knees. There are a ton of kids in that pool and the three lap lanes are always filled. This resulted in him not using the membership And since his knees were bad, he really had no other exercises that he could do without it affecting his knees. The entire reason we joined that gym was so that he could use the pool because planet fitness is one quarter of the cost monthly and does nit have a pool. Since the pool was not so pleasant to use, he barely used the gym. As far as me, I wanted to join for the equipment, but I realized that they don’t have two of the machines that I enjoy using. I thought I would enjoy the hot tub more, but the first time I used it somebody turned the lights on which made it less enjoyable for me and the second time I used it somebody stole my towel. Which also made me less than happy. I thought you know for the price I can go to planet fitness because it really wasn’t worth the extra money for us because we only joined it for the pool. I have two hernias and my husband has really really bad knees. So we pay $189 for the two of us or somewhere around there and we canceled it , Today, March 11 and they are making us pay until April 30 which is completely unfair especially because there is an early termination fee of $245 a person. Which is excessive. May 1st they want to charge you the maintenance fees and I’m sure they’re gonna try to squeeze that out of us too. Completely unfair. We should not be charged an extra month for terminating our membership. It’s not fair and it really ticked me off. Very unfair. My advice is don’t even join. The pool is full of kids, which is OK I like kids, but the pool is full of kids and in my opinion it is not worth the high price. We put a lot of time and effort into this decision to join and I said we chose it because of the pool, but he couldn’t even swim laps, which is what he wanted to do. It’s overpriced and a complete waste of money. To know that we are going to be shelling out an extra $700 between now and April 30 is very disheartening. That’s a ton of money and it’s really not fair. We were prepared for the 500 but not prepared for the 700 and it really really really really is unfair. I had to read the contract multiple times to understand that they are going to charge us that extra month and it’s just not fair. It’s absolute crap. They should’ve canceled it on the day that we canceled.
Hello Concerned Citizen, we appreciate your feedback. However, there are many aspects of your feedback that are simply inaccurate. We want all of our members and those looking into joining our club to have the most accurate and correct information especially when it comes to our policies and procedures. We welcome you to contact our Member Services team here at the club to discuss your concerns, questions, or any information needed. Thank you.
Negative experience: This place is a joke. Contacted them Sunday night via their website to use the "free" day pass. Got a phone call Monday and talked to Connor. Explained to Connor I am not from the area and that my gf lives up here and was a previous member. Explained that I was only gonna do the day pass, wasn't gonna sign up and didn't mind paying the day pass if it's a hassle. He said not a problem since you're being up front and honest with me, I'll still give you the day pass anyway. Respectable. All was well, until I get there and sit down with Cameron who explains because I don't live in the area I don't "qualify" for the day pass and would have to pay $29 for a damn day pass! I have no problem paying a $10-$15 day pass to workout somewhere but $29 is ridiculous. Especially when everything was said before hand that I don't live in the area. Could've just explained that from the start. Given the constant bad reviews I've seen about this place, I should have known better.
Hello Jeff. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize for any miscommunication. The pricing of our day pass is an accurate representation of the amenities we have to offer here at the club. Thank you for your understanding.
Fantastic experience: Just a few days ago, I shared my experiences with this gym, highlighting my appreciation for its welcoming atmosphere, excellent amenities, and overall environment. However, I also expressed concerns regarding the reliability of the steam room, which made me question my decision to remain a member. I am pleased to say that the club has exceeded my expectations with its prompt and professional response in addressing the issue. Their commitment to member satisfaction and swift resolution of concerns has truly reinforced my confidence in their dedication to excellence. In light of this, I hold the gym in the highest regard and wholeheartedly recommend it to others. The level of care, priority, and respect they extend to their members is truly commendable. I am grateful for their outstanding service and delighted to continue being part of this exceptional community.
Hi Daniel! Thank you so much for your positive review and feedback. We love having you at the club and value you as part of our community! Please feel free to always stop by the front desk if you ever have any questions about the club. We appreciate you and glad we are able to continue providing excellent service.
Fantastic experience: Love this gym specifically because of the indoor track upstairs. If you are bored walking on the treadmill, using the track will be a great new addition to your workout till it gets nice out.
Hi Kara! Thank you so much for your review. This is fantastic and we are so happy that our indoor track is a great addition to your fitness routine. It comes in handy on those cold winter days! It is so great to have you part of the club. We are glad you are enjoying your experience and fitness journey here at Premier. We appreciate you and value you being a member. Thank you for your review!
Negative experience: You need to come during specific business hours to cancel your membership and it’s a whole process. Probably easier to cancel card and get no card then to cancel membership. They don’t care about the new FTC rule. The "Click-to-Cancel" rule is a Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rule that requires businesses to make it as easy to cancel a subscription as it was to sign up. The rule was finalized on October 16, 2024.
Jon Cameron, please call the club and ask to speak to Member Services on how to properly cancel your membership.
Fantastic experience: Steel Fitness Premier is exactly that- the Premier facility for all things fitness! We've been members for almost a year and a half, and love it. There's tons of equipment for whatever you are in to- huge free weight area, Smith and HammerStrength machines, a large space for abs and other workouts including cool classes(some that include punching bags!), and several different varieties of ellipticals, treadmills and stair climbers, bicycles..there's literally something for everyone! And there's a walking/running track lofted above the gym which is neat. Not to mention they have 3 different pools! There are also separate studios and a spin class room...too many options and amenities to list everything here. Locker rooms have all the amenities including CLEAN showers, and each locker side has their own whirlpool, sauna and steam room. Perfect pre or post workout! Members are all ages and super friendly, as are the staff and Trainers who work really hard and maintain highest standards. We were sick of waiting in line for equipment and the unclean areas at another gym, so we checked out SFP and it was the best thing ever we could have done! Honestly, what are you waiting for? : ) Get fit while having FUN in a wonderful facility!
Hi Michelle! Thank you so much for your feedback and review. It is amazing to hear what SFP has been for you and we are so happy we are here to provide you and the Lehigh Valley with your health and wellness goals. It is so great to have you part of the club. We are so glad you are enjoying your experience and fitness journey here at Premier. We appreciate you and value you being a member. You are such an inspiration to everyone here and we can't wait to see all you accomplish. Thank you for your review!
Positive experience: This gym charges $90 per month if you sign a one-year contract with strict rules to keep you locked in. It’s not worth the price. The equipment is outdated, and something is always broken—the elliptical is constantly out of order. The lockers have issues too—once you lock them, they won’t open, and you have to call the front desk just to access your own things, which is extremely inconvenient. The check-in process is frustrating—the scanner takes forever to work, and if you accidentally forget to scan in, the staff treats you like you’re trying to sneak in. One time, an employee followed me all the way to the locker room just because I was distracted on the phone and didn’t check in right away. The class schedule is very limited, and the one class I liked was only offered once a week. One time, I showed up for a class with two others, and instead of starting as scheduled, 10 minutes later, the instructor told us to join a different class because there weren’t enough people. What if I didn’t want to take another class? The dumbbells are never enough for everyone and the mats are worn out and hard to find. I always preferred to bring my own. The childcare service was also disappointing. When I picked up my 3-year-old, she was crying because the lady was taking her toys away before closing. Instead of rushing to clean up while kids are still there, maybe they should allow extra time after closing to do so. To top it off, when you first sign up, they offer a “body assessment” just to pressure you into buying personal training sessions. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Hello Picky. We apologize if you did not feel you had the best experience possible at the club. We would have loved to hear your concerns while you were a member so we could address them. We have multiple avenues at the club to address your concerns to help make our members feel heard and appreciated. We also hope you understand as a business there are certain practices that are in place for reasons. For example, we follow our contracts that are signed by our members to protect both our members and business. We also want to make sure everyone is checking-in, that is common practice at gyms. If you would like to call the club and ask for our General Manager, he would be happy to talk further.
Negative experience: Won't even give a free day pass absolutely ridiculous. Their website literally says on it free day pass
Fantastic experience: When I first walked into Steel Fitness Premier I immediately noticed the laid-back yet energizing vibe. The space is bright and open, with large windows letting in natural light. One thing I really appreciated was the quiet, focused energy—it's not the kind of gym that feels overly crowded or chaotic, making it perfect for people who want to focus on their workouts without unnecessary distractions. The staff were incredibly friendly from the start. From the front desk, the management and to the trainers, everyone seemed genuinely happy to help. When I asked about equipment or the schedule for group classes, the staff were quick to offer information without being pushy. I also noticed the personal trainers interacting with clients throughout their sessions giving tips, encouragement, and a friendly word when needed. When it comes to cleanliness, this club, not just a gym, exceeded my expectations. The equipment was always wiped down after use and they are always in good shape. I saw staff regularly walking around cleaning the machines. The locker rooms were great, with stocked amenities. It's clear that the club lifestyle and environment is a priority here, which is a big plus for me as a member. Overall, my experience at Steel Fitness Premier has been very positive. You get what you pay for, definitely worth it as there is no other club/gym in the Lehigh Valley that has all of the amenities and everything Steel Fitness has to offer. The welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and cleanliness make it a great choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and motivating space to work out.
Positive experience: Too expensive to really justify the cost; the quality of the locker room and weight room area aren’t even that great.
Fantastic experience: Steel Fitness offers a variety of high end amenities that contribute to its premier feel. The gym, three pools, spa area, and locker room are all well maintained to ensure you're enjoying quality service at every step of your fitness routine. The staff are professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Patrick at the front desk always greets me with a smile and facilitates a vibrant energy in the early morning. All around, one of the best decisions I've made this year was joining Steel Fitness Premier.
Fantastic experience: I have really enjoyed my experience here. Friendly staff, always willing to engage in conversation and help out as needed. Equipment is good quality and functional. Locker room and spin studio are recently renovated and enjoyable to use. Shoutout to Patrick and Jasmine, always super friendly and happy to be at the gym!
Fantastic experience: What a lovely establishment! Deanna Hontz was lovely on the phone and Patrick was awesome at the desk. Great steam room! I was there on a day pass but I’ll be back!
Negative experience: I have not been to this Gym in 7 months because I moved. I was told if I want to cancel I would have to pay $500. The customer service representative suggested I just suck it up and wait for the contract to end. So it’s the end of my contract and I call to let them know I’m definitely not joining again , just for them to tell me they already enrolled me into the next year. No warning, no email, no reminder just that they already enrolled me into the next year. I ask them to please reconsider my contract ends in October, I have been paying $100 a month to a gym I don’t go to , I moved.I’m trying to get out of this contract. They tell me I’m going to have to pay for November, and if I want to cancel I have to come in and sign papers but I still have to give another $100 for November . Are you kidding me??? I asked several times if they could reconsider , and the answer was NO. This is not customer service. This is not right! Considering my circumstances, that I don’t even go to the gym, and I’ve been trying to get out of the contract in over 7 months now. The woman manager I spoke to was a robot!!!!The decency! They are a scam, no mercy here. They could care less about their customers!!!
Fantastic experience: My first day here and it was great. This place is far better than any other gym that I been to
Negative experience: Crazy that we pay $100 per month for this membership and the yoga mats they provide us are absolutely filthy, look like they are 10 years old and are disintegrating. Door does not shut in the mens sauna and everybody has asked them hundreds of times to fix it. The machinery is rusty and often out of order. The towels they lend out are yellow, frilled, old, and they are stored in a machine that requires a passcode that doesn't work. The lockers in the men's room don't work and frequently need somebody from the front desk to open them up. Showers and shower curtains look dirty. Parking is far from the gym. Body fat % machine often out of order. Trainers say they will call to schedule a session and they dont. This place is overpriced and the only thing here that is better than planet fitness is the sauna, which again is drafty, and thermostat is inaccurate. This gym should spend $50 and buy some new yoga mats and spend 5 minutes to fix the sauna door. If people are going to pay a premium then this place needs to do a better job. Most conversations I have with other gym goers usually conclude the same thing: they do not listen to complaints and they take their clients for granted. For $100/month they should do better!
Hello Mr. Comet, We apologize you are not having the best experience at our club. I wish you would have reached out to our management team first so we could have helped answer your concerns in a timely manner. Our mats were purchased less than 2 years ago, we have a cleaning company that comes in after hours to clean the equipment on the gym floor and we also have a full-time housekeeping staff to keep the facility clean throughout business hours. Also, for the convenience of our members currently using the equipment we have multiple cleaning stations on the gym floor for you to wipe down equipment before or after your use. The towels are replaced multiple times a year. The amenity of towel service and all equipment are inspected by our full-time facilities manager periodically throughout the week. We have acknowledged all concerns about the men’s sauna door. These special-order items take time to insure safety, quality, and durability to enhance all member experiences. We will be replacing the sauna doors by the end of the year. Our fitness floor equipment is well maintained and when any questions are brought up, they are handled in a timely manner. We rarely have equipment that is out of order and if we do, we have a checklist posted on the machine for our member’s to see where we are in the process of getting it fixed. Our InBody machine has never been out of order for the last couple of years we have had one. Our Training staff’s number one goal is to help our client’s meet their fitness goals. If you have experienced our trainer’s not returning your call, please let our General Manager, Jonathan, know and together we can discuss further. The towel tracker was replaced less than 2 months ago and we only require your keycard to be scanned to open the door. There is no passcode needed. As a current member, you should have your keycard or app with you to be able to all the club amenities. If you are having trouble with any of that, please ask our staff for assistance. Our glass shower doors are slated to be back up at the end of year. For any of our members who are unable to walk from the parking lot to the gym entrance, we do offer free valet parking. Feel free to use this amenity to help you get around the building. Our pricing remains competitive in the Lehigh Valley with all that we have to offer including the amenities that cannot be found any place else in the Valley. We continue to grow and learn along with building and renovating to keep our standards at the top. Again, for any concerns, please always feel free to come to our management team and our member services manager first who is on-site to rectify anything needed. We strive and maintain that Steel Fitness Premier is the choice for all Health & Wellness in the Lehigh Valley.
Negative experience: Used to be an amazing gym with unbeatable amenities that included 3 different pools. However, it seems they've increased the amount of time EMAC's allowed to use the pool - the gym and lobby are always swarming with families/children attending swim class. If you're looking to swim the only shot you've got is to attend in the wee early hours of the morning or come in the two hours before closing. It's really not conducive 9-5 professional schedule. If you ask the staff about more convenient adult swim hours - they tell you to check for the non-existent schedule on the pool room door or bulletin board. When I signed up the gym had no super set signs posted - those have since gone down and people have begun taking up two pieces of equipment during peak hours. The equipment is also beginning to appear ratty and worn down - several are out of commission right now with ripped seats, etc... Again it used to be a great gym with unbeatable amenities... ATM it's kind of a smit show.
Hi Robyn, We are very sorry we fell short of your expectations. We will reach out to you directly to discuss and get your feedback. Just a note! The last round of our equipment upholstery is scheduled and will be completed next month. We will be happy to update you on the other details in your review that are not accurate. Thank you Robyn.
Negative experience: The gym and locker rooms are what you would expect for the price point they need TLC but it's reasonable. The issue comes from the rest of the amenities. They advertise a reasonable availability of pools for you to utilize, what they fail to mention is that for a large amount of the day all three pools are in use by EMAC, this also comes with a large amount of children and their parents making the pool uncomfortable and unusable. When the staff is asked about a pool usage calendar (which is referenced in an older review by ownership) there is no such item. EMAC has the calendar so you are forced to ask a random 3rd party when they won't be present so you can use the pool for cool down and recovery that you pay a premium for. When asked for the best time to get access to the pool "when we open at 5am" was what was relayed. It's unreasonable to expect to go to the gym outside of times that work for you just to use something that is a part of the membership. Sign up for this gym if you only need the workout room, or locker room extras.
Hello Nohope Nofaith, We are very sorry we fell short of your expectations. We will reach out to you directly to discuss and get your feedback. We will be happy to update you on the other details in your review that are not accurate. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Good gym and has 3 different pools and swim lessons
Hi Marixa, thank you for your review. We appreciate you!
Positive experience: It's definitely not premier. It's a good gym but some of the equipment is beaten up and rusty.. not a good look.. and the treadmills are second rate
Hi Demetrios, thank you for your review. We will be calling you directly to discuss your experience. Steel Fitness Premier offers a state-of-the-art fit floor, saunas, steam rooms, whirlpools, 80+ group exercise classes a week, on-site childcare, 3 heated pools, an indoor track, massage services, elite personal and group training, swim lessons and family swim time. That is what makes us Premier. Looking forward to speaking with you Demetrious.
Negative experience: This place has been not keeping up with standards set in the beginning. Men steam room broke half the year and sitting area inside is laughable. Sauna barely worked and carpet in locker room looking like shat! I am paying almost $100 a month. Even when I do rowing are you guys able to put a tv in front of that wall. I know it’s possible but never thought of because it does not seem you care about your members anymore. We will start there and then I can give you more details later on different equipment needed as well as therapy balls.
Hi Julio, thank you for the review. We will be calling you directly to clarify and correct many details of your review. We are not sure of the last time you were here in the club physically, but, the men's steam room was down for a few days out of this year for maintenance and sanitation purposes for our members experience. Two months ago we painted and restored the men's lounge area, our sauna has been working great and never shut down. Julio, we have not had carpet in our locker rooms for a year now. Not sure if you noticed, but we completely renovated the men's and women's locker rooms last September with brand new flooring. Not carpet. We value our members very much, so much that we installed 20 new tv's on our gym floor when we renovated our entire club during covid. Please feel free to use any of the therapy balls on the turf for your needs. We look forward to speaking with you Julio.
Fantastic experience: I recommend Steel Fitness Premier. The gym has facilities like swimming pool, gym, sauna, showers. All the facilities are very well maintained and the staff is friendly. Recommend it
Hi Tudor!Thank you so much for your positive and kind words. We appreciate your review and love having you as a member of our SFP family. We are happy to have everything you need in one place for all of your Health and Wellness needs!
Fantastic experience: I go here every week with member who has Downs Syndrome..I work for the ARC and am her support professional..Everyone is so nice and supportive with Her..
Hi Gavin! Thank you so much for your kind words. We appreciate you and are so happy to welcome the ARC program into SFP to support our amazing members! We strive to provide all of our valued members the support and care they need in their health and wellness journeys. Our staff is truly exceptional and the heart of SFP. We are grateful for you and all support professionals!
Negative experience: I've been lifting and going to gyms for about 16 years. This is not my favorite weight room, but is probably the best total package fitness center in the area. The reason for 3 stars is the lack of preventative maintenance. I have complained off and on for the 1.5 years that I've been a member here (and I average 5-6 days a week attendance) about the dumbbells being loose. They may sometimes tighten them, but not on a regular schedule. Leaders: to fix the problem, go around the corner to harbor freight and pick up some threadlock. Spend about an hour with a drill and remove all of the securing bolts in the dumbbells, put a little threadlock on, and screw them back in. That's all it would take to forever fix your problem. Plus, most of the equipment needs oiling and deep cleaning. But there's no place better, so I give you that much. UPDATE 30may24 - dumbbells still loose... Update 20June2024: why fix things when you can tape them? Update 30Jul2024- dumbbells still loose! Update 12Aug2024- 30lb dumbbells almost came loose in my hands. Reported equipment issues to front desk yesterday, watched him write it down, will update if it ever gets fixed
Hi Jeremiah,Thank you for your review. We appreciate you being a valued member of our club and are happy you have brought this concern to our attention. We do not recall anything regarding this concern coming through our suggestion box at the front desk, a conversation with our management team or any communication with our facility team. However, we are grateful for you bringing this up and as always, we will actively work on correcting anything needed around our club to suite our members better and foster a positive experience and safe environment. Thank you for your positive words at the end of your review and we hope to continue providing you with a club that meets all of your health and wellness needs.
Negative experience: management stands behind the "I'm just following rules" practice even when the business practices are questionable. READ YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING tried to cancel, made you jump through hopes, managers aren't there to give you paperwork, front desk workers are more concerned about their phones then helping. after phone calls stating I wanted to close my account they made me send certified letters to close it. Not worth the price...stick local, go to another gym. if you need to swim check out the local universities where you can actually get a lane.
Hi Paul, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize for your experience and will be calling you directly. Thank you.
Negative experience: I was at this gym for a year and would say that for the price I paid, it was not worth it. The yoga instructor would single me out every class to try to help. I understand what they are trying to do, but I even asked not to be made an example of me, and the instructor declined. so I stopped attending that. There aren't any benefits for returning members. Even if you pay upfront for a full year. They don't inform you that your contract is going to end. So you can get automatically put into a month to month plan without knowing. Also, the contract is a 30-day cancelation if you are on a month to month basis. There aren't 30 days in every month, so you can get stuck paying for 2 months if you don't watch when you signed up.
Negative experience: Make sure you read your contract thoroughly. Even if you are month to month and go to cancel its an additional month. Plus membership fees. Would of been happy to stay if they had any incentives for returning members but all they seem to be concerned about is what kind of discounts they can give new members. Was great for the time being but I caution any new members to read your contract even if your month to month.
Hi Kyle,Thank you for your review. We hope that you and any of our members are always reading any contracts you sign and agree too. It is very important to make sure you read anything that will have your signature on it to be sure you agree wit all details not only gym memberships but any contract you may sign for any services. Yes, any 30 day cancellation policy for a business does include a last payment for your membership dues. The 30 day notice is a curtesy to the company and to make sure we take care of your request. Regarding any "incentives", we, as many companies are always welcoming new members to our SFP family for all of their health and wellness needs. We value our current members tremendously and perhaps a different membership type may suite you better with different incentives and such. If you would like, you are always welcome to speak to our membership team about this and any other topics you would like. Our team is all here to service and help our members. Nonetheless, Kyle, we hope SFP gave you what you needed for your health and wellness needs for your time here. We value you and truly hope to see you again. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Best gym in the valley
Hi Bass! You are awesome :) thank you so much for your review and for the kinds words. We appreciate you for your positivity and for being a valued member of our club! We hope we are doing all we can to continue giving you a premier experience at Steel Fitness - Allentown while keeping SFP as the best club in the Valley and above the rest!
Negative experience: On and off member at this facility for years. Attempted recently hoping there was some improvement. There hasn't been. It has gone downhill. An already tight pool is leased out to an outside group that has a pool of their own. The lane sharing "rule" is never enforced. People walk and jump around in the lap pool while an activity pool is literally feet away.
Hello Dusty,Thank you for your review. With that said, we are very proud partners with EMAC swim lessons and have a very clear and thought out schedule with their services that does not impede on our member's swim times. Each day of the week, we have closed out time slots where there are no swim lessons taking place to help give our members a time where all three of our pools are free for usage and no distractions. Those times are posted on the pool information board and our SFP staff can always help you with getting that information if you need it. Our lane sharing rule is always enforced and our members here all know that rule applies at all times in our lap pool. You just have to kindly let the other swimmer in the lane know you will be sharing the lane with them. Next time you are here and an issue arises, please feel free to go to the front desk and our staff will always be happy to help you in the moment for us to be able to correct and rectify any situation. Much better to hear about it in the moment or at least the same day rather than try to back track. Thank you, Dusty.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, warm towels, hot tub, sauna, steam room, pool, track overlooking the gym floor.… can’t find all these amenities at most gyms. Membership is not very cheap, but it includes unlimited classes, and they have plenty of classes offered. If you use the gym or take classes regularly. This is definitely worth the cost.
Hi Jonathan! Thanks so much for leaving your kind review. We appreciate the positive words and your kindness. We are super happy to have you as a valued member of our club and are glad we can offer you all the amenities you need for your health and wellness needs! We strive to be above the rest which is why we are the #1 choice in the Valley!
Negative experience: This is a great workout gym, but the pool area needs serious attention. The ceiling paint is falling all over the pool. The photos show the condition of the roof. The management team is aware, but I’m being told it has been like that for years. I’m concerned about the health hazard with all the kids swimming in the pool.
Hello YC,Thank you for you review. You have made our team here well aware of this and we are actively working on resolving this. As you know, our pool space is a very large area and we are handling this with lots of care and trying to make calculated steps to take care of the pool ceiling. This project is a big one and it needs to be done correctly and as safely as possible. The paint that is chipping onto the pool deck is not dangerous at all and the very few that do make their way down do get cleaned up quickly by staff. We understand your position on this and please know we are actively working on resolving this.
Negative experience: Great gym and aerobic classes but steer clear of their personal training program. It is anything but personal. They make you work around the trainer’s schedule and do not accommodate injuries very well. If you don’t like it, they ‘encourage’ you to buy out your contract whereby you lose all of your remaining sessions and pay them a lump sum.
Positive experience: It's really starting to look dated the equipment and floors doors need some work
Alicia. Please explain. We just added 250,000.00 of new equipment 3 years ago as well as new floors. We just put new floors in the locker rooms as well.
Fantastic experience: Always a pleasure to workout at Steel Fitness Cetronia!
Hi Eileen! Thank you so much for your review and comment. We appreciate you and so happy to have you part of SFP!
Positive experience: Great work out facilities, but a worthless family swim program. Two changing stations for several families in a co-ed area. With the rules to use the pool being centered on coaching and rehabilitation and not being able to use even pool noodles and how much we pay to be members I am surprised they even bother to have family swim. Do not recommend taking your family here to swim.
Hello Bruce,We would like to clarify for you our rules and policies for our family swim program. We have our family changing room with two functional restrooms and a shower along with lockers and a spacious area in there to change. It is of course, a family changing area which fits perfectly with a family swim session as some families have multiple children, different ages and genders and with that room, all can be in there with their parents and families. Our separate men and women locker rooms are for members and folks who are 13 years of age or older only. We are sure you can understand how anyone under that age may not be comfortable in an adult locker room. Family swim is centered around having fun and enjoying some indoor swimming. The usage of the pool noodles is intended for our members and aqua classes. Family swim is a separate program and has no connection to your membership except for the benefit of being able to join family swim as part of being a member. Nonetheless, Bruce, thank you for your feedback and we will always continue to work on our programming here at SFP. Our family swim program has made many guests happy to be here and has created endless memories for families. We welcome all members, families and guests to our family swim program every Saturday from 3-5PM at Steel Fitness Premier!
Negative experience: In town visiting family and wanted to get a workout in. Visited the website and filled out a form for a free day pass. When I arrived to the facility I was told it was only for local residents but that I could pay for a day pass. I find it to be a little ridiculous to have non locals pay. A free pass would have let me enjoy the facility and tell my family good things about the gym and in turn, tell others about it. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case and I will be telling my family and their friends about this poor experience.
Hi Matthew,Our day passes are intended for people who are potentially interested in a membership. People visiting from out of state who want to use our services for the day can pay the day fee. If your family and friends are interested in joining that live in the area, they can stop by the club and meet with our membership team for a free day pass. We welcome anyone who has optional interest in a membership to try out the gym! Thanks so much Matthew and we hope you had a nice time visiting your family! :)
Positive experience: Pool was empty and had a great workout
Thanks for the review Stacy. We are glad you enjoyed your visit!
Negative experience: I have been a member of this gym for 2 months and 2-3 times a week I have to move to other areas of the gym due to their cleaning person cleaning equipment almost everyday when I am there in the morning, 10-12. The cleaning involves continuous spraying of Mr Clean for 1-2 hours while I am working out. Some days my eyes and nose burn, my hair and clothing smell like Mr Clean. I thought this was a "Health Club"-haven't they heard that cleaning products are the new smoke!? Fantastic experience: What a Great place! What insurance do you accept!!??
Fantastic experience: Fantastic facility! I’ve never had an issue. The equipment is kept well and it’s very clean.
Hi Salina! Thank you so much for your kind words. We appreciate you and glad to welcome you to our club!
Fantastic experience: Great gym.. Lost of classes, pools, clean UPDATE: Still the same... great gym w/ lots of equipment, indoor track & 3 pools. One for aqua therapy, the second for aqua workouts & a large pool for swimming laps...locker room is very clean...
Hi Debbie! We thank you and appreciate you for your review and kind words. So glad you have found a club that fits your needs. Happy to have you part of the SFP family!
Fantastic experience: Great aquatic classes. Very friendly instructors.
Hi there Christina! Thank you for your review and kind words. So glad you love our aquatic program and classes. Our instructors thrive off of the energy that our members bring into class and your positivity and energy is infectious! Happy to have you part of SFP!
Fantastic experience: My daughter invited me here & this place is just awesome! So many benefits by being a member & daycare.... woohoo, that's always a plus!!
Hi Jennifer! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us your review. We appreciate you a d so happy your daughter invited you to experience our club! Our Kids In Motion program is awesome and we agree, it is a huge plus and benefit for our members to be able to have a child care program here in the facility. Thank you for being part of SFP!
Negative experience: I own and operate a small TKD studio. I was approached by this highly unprofessional establishment to donate a prize for their raffle. Even though I was unable to attend and benefit myself I still donated 1 year of free lessons. Since the drawing I have inquired 10 seperate times to be informed of winner so can reach out to them. Despite 10 assurances I would be contacted I never was. Unprofessional!
Fantastic experience: Green and lots of classes available. Great teachers.
Hi Linda! Thanks for leaving us your review. We appreciate you and your kind words! We love that you have found our GroupX program with our 80+ classes a week that we have to offer something that you enjoy! Our instructors thrive off of our awesome members. Thank you!
Negative experience: I have been a loyal member of this gym for some time now, but the events of today have left me disheartened. Today, I encountered extremely rude and unprofessional behaviour from a staff. What was even more distressing was that her coworker verbally attacked me, causing unnecessary distress and embarrassment. I came in the gym with my father (a guest) and told the front desk that I’m simply dropping him off. This rude old lady (staff) came running after me, yelling and embarrassing me. I explained what I was doing. She said she had to register him. I said ok and went with her with my child. She started typing something on her computer. I told her I had to run for my child’s activity. She started showing me attitude and said “I WILL let you know when I AM done.” I complied. Waited for 30 mins. She purposely kept me waiting by the front desk for 30 mins with my child, she refused to answer what was taking so long. After 30 mins she said “you have to sit with ur guest. Waiting for him” when I specifically told her I had to leave for my child’s activity and that I was in rush. When I confronted her, this young and immature staff started verbally attacking me. Putting her nose where it doesn’t belong. No self respect. When I sought to address the issue with the manager, my concerns were not met with the understanding or resolution I had hoped for. The manager's refusal to apologize and protect his employees, despite the obvious misconduct, was deeply disappointing. I must admit that this is not the first time I have faced discrimination and unfair treatment within the gym. It's disheartening to observe the stark contrast in the treatment I, and some of my friends who share my nationality, receive when compared to other American customers. The consistent issues we face, especially from one particular staff member, are unacceptable. As a member, I expected to enjoy a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere at the gym. Unfortunately, recent events have made me question whether this is truly the case. I am not the type of person who leaves reviews but if anyone else faced this type of treatment from these people. Sorry to hear that. Some people need to be a DECENT HUMAN BEINGS. I was asked to apologized to the staff by the manager. If I was the problem in this situation then I would happily apologize. They kept labelling me as rude and gaslighting me. Unbelievable. Caused a scene in front of my 5 year old.
Positive experience: Great for family gym
Hello! Thanks for giving us your honest review. I'm glad to hear that you love our facility and family atmosphere! Please feel free to reach out with any additional or specific feedback anytime. Have a great day!
Fantastic experience: I'm there at least 3 times a week to exercise in the pool. Either a class or on my own. Love it!
Positive experience: Not the most economical gym but has new machines and nice amenities
Fantastic experience: Nice people, nice facility. I appreciated them letting me get involved in their raffle and helping me promote my business Iron Falcon Martial Arts
Thank you for your stellar review, Frank! We appreciate your support during our Open House event. We love having the opportunity to welcome other local businesses into our facility. We hope to see you again soon!
Negative experience: Steam room issue in the men's locker room is still persist. Unfortunately, no answer of when it's going to be fixed. Just wondering why is it problem there all the time?
Fantastic experience: I have been going to Steel fitness for a few months now and I've already noticed changes. I also believe that my trainer is the reason for that. (Dre)
Hi Dyllen - this is so great to hear! All of our trainers are so passionate about helping people reach their goals and create positive life-long habits. It's awesome that your time with Dre has given you the results you've been looking for and the motivation to keep going. Please feel welcome to reach out anytime with feedback - we're always here to listen! Have a great day :)
Fantastic experience: Go here twice every week it's sooo good such nice staff amazing pool it's just 10/10
Hi There! Thank you for your awesome review and for taking the time to leave us your feedback! We love having you part of SFP!
Fantastic experience: The most expensive gym i’ve ever seen or been to in my life lol but I really enjoy their water aerobics classes here so I joined. However because of how expensive it is I doubt I would be able to continue it long term.
Thanks for your positive review! We appreciate your honesty and are glad to hear you're enjoying our aqua classes. We're proud to offer amenities and services that other gyms in the area don't - including heated spools, steam rooms, saunas, a suspended track and the largest group class program in the valley! We hope you continue to enjoy using our facilities however, long you decide to stay with us, and feel welcome to provide helpful feedback that allows us to do better. Have a great day!
Fantastic experience: Excellent facility that always has the tools I need to gain the results I want. I’m inspired by amazing people like DeAndre Damon- who is an elite trainer at both Steel Fitness clubs and offers incredible insight, knowledge and energy to each and every client that he works with! If you want to achieve your best results ever, I would highly recommend working with DeAndre!
Hi Michael,Thank you so much for your positive review and kind words! We're so glad that you enjoy working out at our facilities, but even more grateful for your kind words about our staff. Dre approaches his classes and personal training sessions with such a positive attitude and unwavering encouragement for his clients, and it's great to hear that he's making this kind of impact. Please feel welcome to share your feedback anytime.Happy Easter!
Fantastic experience: I love steel fitness! The variety of equipment and that they have a pool is unique. Also, a big plus is that everything is super clean. They have big fans that run and they keep the temperature comfortable for working out.
Thanks so much Emily!!
Negative experience: I enjoyed visiting SFP so much that I drained my bank account to pay for a full year up front in cash. The pandemic closed the facility and the owner wouldn't let me return, using the funds I'd already paid in full. The BBB attempted to contact Mr. Fenstermacher with regard to my complaint. They reported that like me, he refused to answer their calls. It's a fantastic gym and the team was great, but the owner clearly doesn't care for the actual members. I'd have paid for an endless member ship year after year and he just didn't want me or my money. All he had to do was let me workout for the 6 months or so for which I'd already paid--would've cost him nothing. Instead, his response (or lack thereof), cost him a lifetime relationship. How sad for everyone.
Negative experience: This fitness center's only desire is to rob you of your money. They make cancelling extremely difficult and charge an exorbitant amount of money to cancel your membership. So for example, when you try to cancel, they make you pay an additional month plus a $150 per member. So to cancel two memberships, I would have to pay around $500. Please be careful. Do not sign their contacts. While they may offer a lot, their only desire is to take as much money as they can from you. If you want personal training on top of your pricey monthly fee, they charge excessively as well. One day a week adds almost another 400 to your already 100 monthly membership fee. They are rude on the phone when you try to cancel and make it as difficult as possible. They refuse to cancel over the phone and you must go into their center. I asked to cancel by phone to avoid being charged any additional monies and then would come in and sign any paperwork needed, and they refused. I wanted my account to reflect I was cancelling now not later. Nice to you when you join, but extremely rude and difficult when you need to cancel. Be forewarned. When they respond "protect the customer" it is totally laughable - they do it to make it as difficult as possible and squeeze every last penny they can.
Sherri. It sounds like you entered into a contract and we gave you a discount based on that commitment. If you decide you cannot hold up your end of the contract then like any company, Verizon, Ford, an apartment lease etc. there will be a penalty to make it fair and equitable. Finally. We do not take cancellations over the phone to protect you as the consumer. Hope this makes sense. Best of luck.
Fantastic experience: Great gym. Has all the amenities I require and so much more.
Fantastic experience: One of best facilities I have ever worked out in. The front desk staff is extremely helpful and kind to speak with. The locker rooms are beautiful and are always clean. I haven't used the pool yet, but it is very inviting. The best part of the club are the group ex classes. The teachers are very knowledgeable and the classes are great. Starting on time and giving you an amazing work out!
Fantastic experience: Best gym in the area! Staff is extremely courteous and friendly. Expensive, but you get what you pay for - all amenities provided.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience at Steel Fitness! The facility is clean, friendly and the staff is very helpful.
Fantastic experience: I love the facility! It has all of the things I like when I workout, from the three pools, lots of cardio and free weights. If I want to change up my workout I can take one of the many classes that Premier has to offer from yoga, spin, and hiit. I wouldn't go to anyother gym in the valley.
Fantastic experience: I exercise at this gym 4 times a week and have made regular use of the gym floor, pool, and fitness classes. The gym is fully outfitted with 4 lifting cages, multiple benches, a dumbell area, and a plethora of machines and cardio equipment (as well as indoor track upstairs). Facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the provided towels are a nice perk!
Thanks Matthew! So glad to have you as a member!
Fantastic experience: Love my membership! Several classes, and they are awesome!
We're glad to hear you had an amazing experience with our aqua classes! They are by far the most popular classes at our facility, and we're proud to offer such a great variety of classes and instructors for our members to enjoy. Please feel welcome to provide any additional feedback in the future. Have a great day!
Fantastic experience: Amazing facility! If you live in the Lehigh Valley and have not been here at least once, you are missing out! Get on a friend's VIP list, call about a pass... Just check it out! It's not just a gym, it's an experience!
Thanks so much for the kind words!!
Fantastic experience: This gym is supreme vs any other facility I’ve been a member of. Incredible staff and immaculate facilities! A steam room, sauna, whirlpool and even deodorant and hairspray!! You can’t go wrong here!
Thanks so much Jasmine! This is amazing to hear and we are so happy to have you as a member. We would love to thank you with some VIP passes for you to gift to your friends and family members. Stop by Deanna's office anytime and we will pass them along. Have a great day!
Fantastic experience: Super, disfrute cada actividad.
Thanks Lucy! We're glad you like it here!
Negative experience: ok
Hello! We're sorry to see that you didn't quite enjoy your experience at our facility. Unfortunately, with limited information about your experience, we can't pinpoint where we can improve so we can do better in the future. If you'd like to share your experience with us, please email [email protected] a great day!
Positive experience: Over all good gym . Sometimes over crowded And at times the front desk person can be mean . But it’s the best gym in town .
Hi Gohar, I apologize for not seeing your review sooner. I'm glad to hear that you enjoy using our facility and amenities, as we are very proud of our renovations and programming. However, I'm disappointed to hear that you were less than impressed with our front desk staff. We truly value all of our staff members and hold them to the highest standards of customer service. If you would like to provide additional information regarding your experience, please feel encouraged to email us directly at [email protected]. Have a great day!
Positive experience: When I was there using the pools, the gym was exceptionally clean and well kept. Very impressed.
Thanks for the review. We are happy you like it here!
Negative experience: I have been waiting for a return call from CJ and his manager for over two week now. When I went to leave a message for the management staff. The voicemail is full. Then I was told that "someone" will get back to me before they leave at 7. Well, if this is the kind of service that I can expect. I'll find another solution. But ya know what? They were quick to place me on the spam texting list. I have to agree with some of the other reviews. This place is sub par and horribly managed. I'll be sure to let the rest of my co workers know as well.
Negative experience: Will be ending my membership soon if this steam room issue does not get rectified. I pay $125 a month and I expect to to be able to use ALL the amenities this facility has to offer without mechanical problems.
Sorry to hear this. The steam room has been repaired. Any facility of this size will have mechanical issues from time to time not to mention supply chain issues. We kept members updated on the status during the process. Happy to comp you a month for the inconvenience. Tom.
Fantastic experience: your staff is extremely friendly and your facility is very clean and welcoming
Hi Angie! This is great to hear! We are so glad that you are enjoying your time in our facility. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and amazing staff, and it's always encouraging to hear that we are hitting the mark. Please feel free with reach out with any additional feedback or comments in the future. Have a great day!
Fantastic experience: This gym is not perfect. Actually I don't know about the gym...I am a pool fan. The classes and instructors are great, the temps usually good, the amenities in the locker room too numerous to list, and I rent a small locker so I don't have to lug the shampoo I use to keep my hair in condition. I once asked if tissues were still being kept because they ran low in winter one weekend; CJ and Sam now keep extras in case we run low! It may not be perfect, but I think I am renewing my membership. I have been here a year and it's a great part of my fitness goals. :) Oh and I meet others who take gym classes... The ones I've met seem happy to be here, too. Valet parking in the day is great, esp when I am running behind that day. From warm towels and cotton balls to tiny snacks and drinks in the lobby... A great place for me to work out.
Thanks so much for your review Roe! We're so glad to hear that you've enjoyed the last year with us and have taken advantage of all our facility has to offer. Your honest and fair evaluation allows us to continue to make improvements where necessary, as well as grow as a community and local business.

Fantastic experience: Steel Fitness has the absolute best instructors and is very supportive of its members. So thankful for this gym through the years and especially now for all the Zoom classes during Covid to keep us active and healthy.
Fantastic experience: Great equipment, just updated machines, beautiful remodeled gym, excellent showers and amenities, steam room and sauna first class, cant beat in door track for runners, great front desk always greeted with a friendly hello and an owner, Ton that genuinely cares about all if us, frequently saying hi, how are things, etc...best gym I've ever been a member and I've had quite a few in my 67 years, I'm 3 weeks in mourning now that its shut down by Governors requirement until new year. Felt very safe prior, clean and no one I know of, had covid working out there. Very safe *****
