Our gym is focused on helping you become stronger, more toned, and healthier.

Don't worry, our aim is to make your fitness journey as simple as possible. South Mountain Community Fitness has been around since 2012, helping people reach their fitness goals. We believe in supporting people who are ready to take action and give them everything they need to crush their goals. That's why our members keep coming back for more.

It should be easy to get to the gym, and SMCF is located right off Route 78, which is easily accessible from Allentown and the greater Lehigh Valley.

You need to be patient when working towards a goal, as results won't happen overnight. However, if you stick with it and are consistent, you will eventually see results. This is especially true when you're just starting out, as you can see significant changes in just a month.

We enjoy organizing our classes into small groups. This allows you to get to know other students who might share your interests!

If you're just starting out, you can realistically expect to take 2-4 classes per week, depending on your fitness level. Your body may need some time to adjust to training at that intensity, so you may need more recovery time between training days when you first start out. After a few months, you can work your way up to training 5 days per week.

Our fitness program is designed to help you get in shape, no matter what your current fitness level is. As you become fitter, the workouts will become more challenging. Every workout is designed to help you succeed, improve fitness, and move you closer to your goals. CrossFit is scalable, so it can be tailored to any individual, regardless of experience.

Our class programming will include a strength portion in which you’ll work on something like Olympic weightlifting, deadlifting, squatting, or bodyweight strength or you may work on a skill like handstand push-ups. After the strength or skill portion of the class is complete, most days will involve a workout that was programmed for that specific day. Workouts can be anywhere between 5 to 20 minutes or more.

It's important to enjoy special indulgences and meals, but it's also important to make sure that this lifestyle is manageable and realistic in the long term. Luckily, the healthier you eat, the more likely you are to want to continue eating healthy foods. You begin to feel good and junk food just isn't worth it. By avoiding excessive amounts of refined carbohydrates and measuring your intake of protein, carbohydrates, and fat, you will see dramatic, measurable increases in your health.

Fantastic experience: South Mountain is awesome. I have been to a few other cross fit gyms and this one is head and shoulders above when it comes to the most important part of a box... The Trainers!!! As a physical therapy company, we know good trainers when we see them and South Mountain has the best in the area.

Fantastic experience: I was hesitant at first to join a CF gym because of past experiences with an unfriendly atmosphere. SMCF is a community of the absolute best. From fundamentals to almost a year of membership I continue to grow and learn new things everyday. I am so thankful for everyone who has taught me from Day 1 to now. It is amazing to see the progression in yourself and others. The people I have met here feel like family. A community that genuinely wants to see you challenge yourself and do your best.

Fantastic experience: One of the mottos at SMCF is that “this place will change your life.” When I signed up a few months ago for my fundamentals course, I was highly skeptical that my life would be noticeably changed as a result. I’ve been going to gyms (non-CrossFit) for 15ish years and while some gyms may have better equipment, staff or amenities than others, none of the gyms changed my life; that is until I started with SMCF. Most gyms you show up, work out, maybe say hi to a few people and get on your way. From the moment I signed up at SMCF, I was met with such genuine kindness and a commitment to my goals and well being from the owners and coaches, which felt so rare yet refreshing to someone who had never stepped foot into a CrossFit gym. I found myself wandering if this was just a facade. Several months in, I can say with certainty that the kindness and commitment to my well being was not a facade, the coaches and owners truly care. At SMCF they make sure you learn proper form to keep you safe and prevent injuries. In the few short months that I have been a member, I can honestly say I have felt my life change for the better. The WODs and strength training are always a challenge, driving me to be better. Combine that with the sense of community found at SMCF is really what encourages me to come back for more each day. I couldn’t recommend this place more. For those reading the review that have never tried CrossFit, wandering if it’s right for you, you couldn’t pick a better place than SMCF to give it a go. You have nothing to lose but so much to gain.

Fantastic experience: Just completed orientation which was excellent! The focus on form coupled with mobility will be really beneficial. I now have a clear line of sight as to how to improve my power. The facility is really well equipped and the staff and people are friendly and supportive. Fantastic experience: This place is the best! I just got into CrossFit so I’m still learning the ropes. Christiana was my trainer and took her time making sure I understood everything! I also do classes now with Kayla & she’s great! Everyone is so nice & supportive of one another. Really happy I started coming here. :)

Fantastic experience: Hi, Where do I start? I have always been doing my own fitness regime and half marathon training learning from various different people and sources. At one point, I always wanted to try something different and have always been inspired by crossfit games and their level of fitness regime and routine. I know I have always been looking locally and there are several of them, until I explored into SMCF. I have to say that from day one when I had my discussion with Kurt, it felt that I was already part of the family. It was very professional, honest, and no sales pitch. It was not like where he was trying to sell me something to join his fitness club unlike others, but it was more about what can we do for you to reach your goal and how can we help you to reach that goal? I would definitely recommend anybody to join this club whether you are beginner, intermediate, or advanced level and wants to learn about crossfit, technique, what is the right form, structure of classes, coaches, etc. After taking fundamentals and then starting my actual classes, one thing I will say that each and every member of this club is very friendly and will make you feel like family, will inspire and motivate you. It is not about lifting heavy weights, but it is about inspiring each other, motivate each other, and allowing you to push your limit. Each and every coach that I have interacted so far has been awesome and I have learned so much from them and I continue to learn more and more every time and how I can be competitive and how I can push my limit with proper technique and form. Thank you to each and every coach and I am happy and glad that I made this decision to join this club. Let's go and keep it going!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I recently moved to SMCF with a group of friends from another local box. The athletes, coaches and owners have been very welcoming. There are a lot of very good athletes here, which is impressive but not intimidating. The programming has been great and the coaches here actually coach you, not just cheerlead. This is great value for the $. I'm happy to have found such a good new home!

Fantastic experience: Coaches are the best trainers I have ever had. They continuously help me learn and maintain the proper posture and form. The facility is clean, spacious, inviting, and has enough equipment to accommodate all members. I value the friendliness and support offered by other members and the trainers. I am new to South Mountain CrossFit, but I find the workouts challenging - not impossible. Warm ups are on point and targeted for the workout. Fantastic experience: I stopped by to support some friends who were competing in the Legends competition. It was a well-run event! The facility was great - it had all the equipment you could need or want, and it was amazing how they were able to use such a small space without making it feel too crowded.

Fantastic experience: This gym has been my safe place and home for over 5 years. The athletes, coaches, and owners have become like family to me. This place has helped me through some hard times in my life, and it serves as a constant reminder that there are always people who will talk me through anything. Fantastic experience: This is an excellent facility with an even better group of coaches and managers. They're constantly working to improve their gym and their atmosphere to accommodate the changing needs of the clientele while emphasizing the same "best version of you" state of mind.
