Fantastic experience: I figured I should update my review after 2 weeks at this fine facility and honestly I wish I could give platinum fitness 10/5 stars. It was NEVER crowded. Not any day, not at any time! I got some of the best workouts of my life in here. Staff is great and everyone in the gym was very friendly and welcoming. Great selection of beverages if you forgot your pre workout. Seriously, I will never go to any other gym in Pittsburgh ever again. Original review: My kinda gym! I try to get back to Pittsburgh quarterly to visit family and previously I had been going to planet fitness which is just awful in every way/shape/form. Platinum brings back fond memories of Gold’s gym in San Diego where I got my personal trainer cert many moons ago. Every piece of equipment you could ever ask for, maybe even 2 of everything, so you never have to wait for anything. Wasn’t crowded when I went. VERY AFFORDABLE without any BS hidden fees. Robert is a solid dude and even helped me out with a military discount. I am happy to support anyone that supports veterans and cannot recommend this gym enough. Hands down the best in the beechview/brookline/banksville area. Dumbbells up to 150lbs, try to find those at any big box gym!

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! Friendly staff and everything you need for a great workout. I love the Hoist machines, there’s a set up for hip thrusts, and tons of other quality equipment. Looking forward to trying their tanning and group classes too!

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym. It’s got everything you could ever want. And I got in for a year special for an amazing price with no administration or service fees so what they advertise is what I paid and as we all know about their gyms that ain’t necessarily the truth. Another thing I really like about it is it’s independently owned and operated. If there’s an issue, you can speak to the owner right there And I’m like those big corporate places he actually cares you’re not in business since 1982 without caring about your customers. All I know is once I saw the chains I knew I was in the right place

Fantastic experience: Platinum Fitness Center is a hidden gem amongst other gyms. I have been more motivated to work out since joining due to the positive and welcoming environment that this gym facilitates. The staff and other gym-goers are extremely friendly, the building is always kept clean, and there is never a wait for the equipment.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym!! Run don’t walk to get your membership!! Fantastic pricing, staff, & amenities. Conveniently located & has everything you need! The tanning + gym package is SO worth it! The package also allows for spray tanning in addition to beds! & for the girlieeeees like me (or whoever!), the aerobic studio is top notch for stretching, yoga, HIT ect!!! I never have a hard time finding an empty stairmaster

Fantastic experience: This gym is the best! I have heard about Platinum Fitness from my brother. It is located near Quest Diagnostics and shares a building with IdentiGO. It can be tricky to find because the majority of the buildings in this Greentree complex are the same address. The GPS is confusing but this place is so worth finding because I feel like I can accomplish my goals. The members at the gym are approachable and you can have a conversation with them. I honestly feel like everyone that goes here is a family that wants to help others get fit and strong. I love coming to this gym because it’s convenient after I get off work and it’s close to my house. Some people that go to the gym love it because they said they can do their shopping at Giant Eagle (which is not too far from this gym) and hit Platinum Fitness. I love this location . When I go to this gym I know that I will never be judged. The owner is friendly and is willing to help in any way he can. The staff are very kind and supportive as well. It’s very clean. A lot of the times I see the owner cleaning or helping people. This is great because it shows he actually cares. This is a gym I go to every day and I see real results. There are a ton of classes to choose from as well. I did the “Power Pump” class and so could feel the difference in my muscles the next day. The instructors are motivating and inspiring. I will renew my membership for 2026. I recommend 200%

Fantastic experience: This is the place to go for a great workout. It has tons of equipment machines for every muscle group, ranging from nautilus to lots of free weights, benches, squat racks, pull down machines, etc. It's a real gym and not filled with influencer's videotaping everything. The staff is welcoming and available for any assistance needed. I've been to a dozen different commercial gyms in Pittsburgh and this is by far the most authentic one. Highly recommend.

The gym is extremely clean and they have a variety of classes that I can’t wait to take. I haven’t been to a gym in a long time and they made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. I would recommend this gym to anyone in the Pittsburgh area!

Negative experience: On two separate occasions I joined this gym - strictly because of how close it is to my job. Both times I realized it was a mistake. Two primary reasons: first the place is just dirty. At least it was when I went here. I remember looking at all the rusted broken lockers in the women’s locker room and then noticing that it looked like someone threw a can of soda at the wall and it was never cleaned up. I don’t know if it was soda but ew - gross. The other reason was the staff. I recall several times walking in to the gym going to slide my card through - there’d be an employee standing or sitting right there behind the counter. None of them ever so much as acknowledged me let alone smiled or even said hi.i felt like I was bothering this one girl who was often sitting there and had a perpetual scowl on her face.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Platinum Fitness Center for the last few months, and I've had a great time. The membership is fantastic; it includes access to the gym, fitness classes like Zumba and Body Pump, as well as tanning and spray tanning services. The gym also has convenient hours and on-site parking, which is a big advantage.

Fantastic experience: I am a new member for about a month now and am very impressed with the amount of machines available and the flexible class schedules. I never have to wait for a machine. I do not use the tanning booths but I did get a spray tan and I was super pleased with it for my event. No hassle getting there since it's not downtown and parking is pretty much unlimited and FREE.

Fantastic experience: This is "My" Fitness Center. Been a member for over 5 years. This is a facility with multiple levels of cardio and strength equipment. Everything from free weights, to elliptical, stairmaster, treadmill, pulleys, hammer strength, and Hoist machines. All equipment and facilities are constantly updated. I never have to wait, even when it's busy. Extremely friendly staff and members, and that's important to me! This place is ideal for anybody beginning, maintaining, looking for transformation, looking for insight, bodybuilding, or getting fit. No other fitness center can compare with the value you at Platinum. Great classes with great instructors! Everybody here is so nice, members and staff! Very Clean, Free parking, Open Weekends, just truly a great place to exercise and work out!

Fantastic experience: Finally a gym in Pittsburgh with a great free weight area. You never have to wait on the machines even during peak hours. Everyone is there to just work out. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member for well over 5 years. This gym has everything I need, Free Weights, Cardio, & Strength Machines. They even offer FREE tanning with your membership, not sure you can find that anywhere else! The owner, Bob, is there everyday and more than happy to set you up with an exercise routine. I think this gym is a bargain for what they charge.

Fantastic experience: Barebones gym rat gym, first workout today and I signed for a year. There's something exciting about getting done and feeling like you had a great workout but also feeling like you need a tetanus shot from the dirty old equipment and locker room. My only gripe is a 30 dollar yearly maitenance charge which I've never heard of after being a member of gyms across the country, but I figure it's kind of like crowd funding the gym, so it'll do.

Fantastic experience: I'd recommend to anyone. Has a great old school feel like a place Arnold and those guys would've worked out at. Lots of free weights, metal weights, and then they still have everything else you'd need equipment wise. As far as the people go, it's the type of environment you'd want in a gym - never too crowded and the people are all friendly and serious about fitness. Plus, they're not like what most gyms have become where you've got people doing one set then stripping down to their underwear and doing a full blown photoshoot in the middle of the gym; just people who are focused on showing up and putting in the work. If all I said is what you're looking for, then this is your place.

Benches new upholstery, always been a convenient cozy gym setting unlike most larger gyms where finding equipment is like waiting in line at Kennywood. Members are friendly. And there is still a mature hotty at the Front desk after 6pm For great Eyecandy convenience for all !

Negative experience: Walked in a few minutes ago to get memberships. No one was wearing a mask. Not even the person at the front desk who was eating yogurt/ice cream at the front desk and audibly smacking their lips. I was really excited to get a membership :/

Fantastic experience: Great place. All the machines work properly and they have everything you could possibly need. Think a 'pumping iron' type of gym and everyone is friendly. But if you're looking for a gym with posh locker rooms, towel service, etc. you'll be better off looking elsewhere. I'm not knocking either, just depends what you are looking for.

Fantastic experience: I, personally, love this gym. It has a variety of equipment, classes, and a few personal trainers. I spent this past summer training here with personal trainer Shawn. He taught me how to use different equipment and helped me broaden my knowledge with different workouts. He trained me with things like slam ball, battle ropes, and weights. I can now say I walk into a gym confidently because I have gained knowledge on things like proper form and uses of equipment. Though I only get to workout here during my summers off, I enjoy it and would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: This is my favorite gym in the area. The pricing is very competitive and classes/tanning are included. The staff is friendly and accommodating. That being said this is definitely a gym. What I mean by that is it isn't all bright and shiny brand new equipment, but everything they have in there works and will get the job done. They are replacing some equipment little by little, so they are working on getting newer equipment/dumbbells etc. It's never been overly crowded either. All in all its perfect for those looking for a no frills gym with a very friendly staff.

Positive experience: They fit a lot of stuff in a somewhat small space without it being too crowded. Even when it's busy, there are plenty of machines for everyone. I've never waited for a cardio machine or a weight, or a shower.

Positive experience: Very basic gym, but it's clean, there's friendly staff and the equipment and wifi always works. I also go to some chain gyms and this one never lets me down

Negative experience: Treadmills are in a very bad shape. Dumbbell rack is old, ill maintained, dirty and poorly designed, sometimes the weights slide off of it. Staff personnel are unkempt. The towel you are supposed to use to use to wipe off sweat from machines has been used a 1000 times over by someone else. No water to drink unless you buy it. And in the last 45 a month for this POS??? I suffered a month.

Fantastic experience: I have always been intimidated by working out in front of others, but I decided to make a change and find a gym to attend during my lunch breaks at work. Bob, the owner, has been extremely helpful and encouraging; he is even helping me create a workout plan that fits my needs. The facility has all the equipment I could possibly need, and I love that tanning and classes are included. I look forward to working out each day and I highly recommend this gym to others!

Fantastic experience: I've belonged to several gyms over the past 10 years, and Platinum Fitness offers one of the best environments that I've experienced yet. There are plenty of free weights and a wide array of machines; the dumbbells range up to 150 lbs., which is difficult to find anymore, especially in chain gyms. The free tanning is definitely a plus, and the room used for cardio classes can also be used for stretching and ab exercises. All in all, a great facility to train at!

All the classes they offer are taught by professionals and you can guarantee a great workout at Platinum fitness center. I recommend this gym to everyone, don't miss out on their wonderful opportunities, and for those who love to tan, they have fabulous tanning beds that can be included with your membership. Negative experience: Me and my brother were playing keepy ups (soccer training) in the big gym. Some girl that is the owner there said I kicked a ball in her face. Really funny. Then she and her boyfriend make fun of me and my brother for some reasons and stare over at us. Is thers something wrong with my face? Or is my skin color that offends them? Never coming here again.

Negative experience: Went to try this gym and the inside was not clean. The dumbbells had lug nuts on the end that stabbed your leg if you wanted to rest them on your thighs.. and all the equipment felt like it was going to fall apart as you were working out on it.

Positive experience: The owner was very nice and it's the closest gym to my apartment but I hate how cramped it is. I wish there was a cheaper option to just pay to use the gym with no tanning or classes. The last time I checked, the price seemed a little high (close to LA Fitness pricing) to me but maybe it's changed? It makes me sad because I really want to get healthy again. But paying so much for a gym that I can't even get to daily because of work feels like a waste. :-(

Positive experience: if free-weights or cardio machines are your thing it might be good for you. i was looking for more strength-training machines and was VERY disappointed with the old and limited selection. the men's locker room is very small and kind of run down, too (only 2 showers and one of those was out of order.) the staff (frank) and bob - the owner are both very nice.
