Fantastic experience: April has the best gym and atmosphere I’ve been to in the past decade. I drive almost an hour to see her for personal training and she gives me the tools I need to be successful when training on my own. April is the best personal trainer I’ve had and I know others could benefit from her knowledge and kindness! She provides an environment for anyone, gay or straight, young or old, man or woman. Thank you for being amazing, April!

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing gym! Everyone at the front desk is so friendly. There is a range of ages, sizes and abilities from the members so it’s not an intimidating place to work out. April, my trainer (and the owner) is so incredibly knowledgeable about all things health and fitness. She has helped me more than I can say on my fitness journey! I would recommend this gym to anyone looking to make a positive change in their routine!

Negative experience: INCOMPETENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ATTENDANCE It was an alright experience in the gym. 3 star at best. The equipment is kept in moderate condition, though most times when i would go to work out after work, 12AM, it would be disorganized, and the bathroom would be filthy. The real issue, though, is with their sign-up/cancelation and company. I was stationed in Knoxville briefly and needed a gym, so i signed up here. The issue: when i was scheduled to leave Knox, i told them to cancel my membership, and they didn't. After moving, I received one email after another about a memebership i had canceled; I returned this information and more about my cancelation; but they still kept charging. Now i have a collection agency preparing to screw my score because of this companies incompetence

Positive experience: ⭐⭐⭐ I frequent the Workout Anytime Knoxville/Bearden location when I'm in town, but overall, I would rate it three out of five stars. The gym itself has a smaller footprint compared to other locations, which can make it feel a bit cramped during busier hours. More concerning, though, is the temperature and air quality inside. The owners seem more interested in cutting costs than prioritizing customer comfort — keeping the gym temperature at 75ºF or higher with high humidity, and relying on small, waist-high fans for airflow. This is noticeably different from other Workout Anytime locations, where temperatures are typically kept around 69ºF with lower humidity to create a more comfortable environment for workouts. While the convenience of this location is hard to beat, I’ll likely explore the other Knoxville location, even though it’s a 30-minute drive, to find a better workout environment with more space and a more customer-focused atmosphere.

Negative experience: EDIT***I know Kurt will comment here saying I initialed something. Kurt is vindictive and even though you didn't use his filthy gym for the entire year plus he was billing you, he still charged you and sent you to collections *** I had a membership here years ago. I moved away from the gym so I stopped going. Right after the debit card attached to my auto pay expired so I thought it was a clean break. There is no contract here like at some bigger gyms. You can simply end it at any time. So the gym kept :billing me 25 dollars a month until I had a passed due balance of over $400 . Even though I hadn't stepped foot in a workout anytime. Kurt the owner sent this to collections I guess to get vengeance on someone no longer using his dirty gym. Several years later I sign up at workout anytime Seymour which has been great! A few years later I stopped into the bearden location for a workout. It was okay. The gym was dirtier and the equipment seemed a little worn compared to the seymour location. Later that day the owner Kurt called me to tell me I couldn't workout there until I paid the 400 plus dollars back that I was continuing to be billed for even though i moved away and wasn't using his nasty gym. Let me remind you that this was a month to month contract and my current membership allows me to use any workout anytimes. I know that Kurt the owner has a reputation for giving other WOA location members grief if they use his gym. Long story short. There are a ton gyms that don't have jerks running the place. Go somewhere else

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! Love the staff. I always feel comfortable when I go here to work out even with the free weights. I have attended with just a regular pass and had personal training sessions. Highly recommend .

Negative experience: The gym overall is great—good atmosphere, and most of the staff are friendly. However, I had a bad experience with a staff member named Debbie (who I believe usually works Saturdays). She profiled me, was passive-aggressive, unprofessional, and not upfront about why I was the only member in the gym she asked for extra information. She claimed it was due to a machine error, but that clearly wasn’t the case as other members entered and exited with no problem. It was disappointing and not what I expect from a place I otherwise enjoy. Additionally, I received a follow-up email regarding the incident, which further confirmed my feelings about the situation with Debbie. I am disappointed by the response.

Positive experience: Nice clean simple gym with pleasant staff. Only thing I don't like is the music in the gym lacks variety, always the same songs, always techno funk with same redundant beat and unclear lyrics. 2 months later the music is still the same. I hear the exact same songs every visit, same techno funk . My visits would be more enjoyable if there was variety of genres and songs that had intelligible lyrics. Still anticipating the music improvement. Meanwhile, my ears will be vexed with the same computer generated repetitive beat that is in virtually ever song with mushy weird unintelligible lyrics - o well, guess I'll invest in sound occluding headphones and stop hoping in the promised music improvement at the gym.

Fantastic experience: Best setup and machine variety out of all the WOAT I've been to so far. There are a couple closer but this one is my fave for sure.

Fantastic experience: Although this gym is smaller than some, it has everything I need I am particularly impressed with how clean it is. The machines are always in good repair and most of the clientele wipe the machines down after each use. The staff is very friendly, as well.

Negative experience: Remember when you sent me to collections (for less than $30/mo.) in the midst of the pandemic while your gyms were closed, but you fools still expected your contractually obligated monthly fee? Nevermind that. Remember when your gyms in both Bearden and Maryville had no A/C two years prior to the lockdowns? Remember when the men's facilities in Bearden were constantly filthy because you could not keep staff? I certainly do. I would give the married couple who own and operate these two locations zero stars if I could. Sending me a plea to rejoin is both hilarious and deeply insulting. You people breached contract long before I did. I even had friends and family sign up with you, and you still sent me to collections for pennies in the midst of a deadly pandemic—during which your operations were forcibly halted. You have no shame, and I will never do business with you or Workout Anytime ever again.

Negative experience: Cleanliness is definitely not the first priority of this place. All equipments are dirty. You can see the black stain on the weight pins on all machines. the floor shows how disgusting it is. Bathroom never has hand soap refilled ever. The air inside the facility is extremely muggy. It's not circulate at all. If you move too much, you will feel like you can't breathe pretty easy. I recently moved to this area and this gym is the closer to my house. Otherwise, I would not go back to this place ever again. I still haven't cancelled my old gym membership because I feel so much better driving 2x further to that one. I can breathe, everything is cleaner, not crowded when there are more than 2 people in the gym, and have more equipments. 2 stars are for how nice the staffs are and the location. The rest are not good enough to be a gym in Bearden. It doesn't need to be spacious or nice for this price range, but be clean and circulate the air should be the bare minimum.

Negative experience: I've worked out at 3 of these and this by far was the most disappointing! 1 curlbar in the whole gym and very few back and arm accessories for cable machines! Very unorganized with the benches near the dumbbells! I'm not a karen at all, but for this location in knoxville we're it's very wealthy it's very poor ran! Should be the nicest one with how much money is in that area! Come to norris, powell areas and it's the nicest and most packed I've seen. This workout anytime had 3 to 7 people in at all times. That told me alot. Just want to encourage this owner it could be better!

Positive experience: It’s great for the price and convenience for the area. You’ll find basic free weights and general treadmills. Only downside is it’s a bit small and can feel claustrophobic during peek times. Otherwise you’re not missing out much for the price. If you want more space, amenities, and extra towel service you deserve to look at the pricier $65+ gym chain.

Negative experience: Out of all the workout anytime locations this one is the worst. We will purposefully drive to further locations to avoid this one. My boyfriend always complains about how gross the bathrooms are. I think they have 1 bike that works and it’s so uncomfortable because the other one is always broken. This location has bare minimum equipment compared to the other locations, too! If you are the owner of this location, please please please update this one! And if you are a customer, just know there are way better locations besides this one.

Positive experience: I truly just wish this place was bigger. The Powell location is decent size but this place feels packed with just 10 people inside. I guess with everyone moving here it’s always packed. But I would love to have more locations. This is right around the corner from my house but I’ll drive 20 minutes out just to get more room to breathe. Reply: as I mentioned I go to the Powell location because yours is so small. I have been a member for over a year and it’s always been this way which is why I stopped going. Has nothing to do with it being January. I’ll be reaching out to cancel. Thank you.

Negative experience: Beware. This business continued to bill me for an already cancelled membership over the course of five years and I was only notified when it showed up on my credit report as an account they sent to collections. Exercise caution if considering this establishment for your gym. If you’re considering a membership here please be aware that it could legitimately affect your credit score. EDIT AGAIN in response to business reply: I never received any communication from this location or from any collections agency. I contacted the Bearden location already and was unable to be helped. This was an account that was cancelled over five years ago. Please revise your billing/collections practices as it seems to be your biggest pain point when looking over your reviews. I will absolutely never consider using any Workout Anytime location ever again based on these experiences. Sending an account to collections 5 years after refusing to cancel a membership, not notifying the individual, and then passing the blame on to the "billing company" is shady at best.

Negative experience: I would highly suggest not going to this gym! Keep in mind reading this: My boyfriend, brother, sister, AND myself all ran into a similar issue, so it’s not a one off situation. I moved out of Knoxville, so I wanted to cancel my membership. I was fully aware I signed a year long contract but once the contract ended, on the day that it ended I called in to cancel it. It was an absolute nightmare. It wasn’t until four months after they figured out how to cancel and we continued to get charged. It’s extremely difficult to cancel and they will try all possible avenues to get more money from you….just random excuses to keep charging. If you sign a year long contract be prepared to pay at least 4 extra months.

Fantastic experience: I rated this gym at 5 stars a few years ago, and I stand by that rating. I just want to give a follow up because gyms get a bad rep on Google maps. I was a member at this gym for a couple of years, and when I wanted to cancel, I followed the rules, as stated in my original agreement, and had no problem cancelling my membership. I restarted going to this gym in September of 2023. It hasn't changed, and I'm fine with that. The only thing different since I was there a few years ago is that the cardio theatre no longer has you running after a man in different trails and such around the world. You now can use the cardio theatre while watching funny videos on chive.tv. I feel safe at this gym. I love how many different age ranges and athletic abilities work out here. I'm not gawked at, feel uncomfortable, or anything else here. The security equipment seems to work, I can use my key to get in the gym after manned hours, and the people that man the front desk are really helpful. The equipment is far enough apart here, the bathrooms are clean (well, the women's is, idk about the men's locker room), everything is clean, and the towels and spray cleaners are always filled. I would now like to tell you about the downsides. Would I prefer wipes? Personally, yes, but it isn't my decision. Would I prefer to not have the hydro massage in the middle of everything where everyone is watching me? Yes. Would I prefer if the time limit on the hydro massage was at least 15 minutes like it is at every other workout anytime that I have ever gone to? Yes. (To be fair, I've only been to 5 or 6 other workout anytime gyms, but all of them had longer time limits on the hydromassage and it was in a separate room.) Would I prefer if the wifi actually let you do something like it used to years ago? Yes. Have I brought it up with the people that man the front desk? Yes. It's also been a problem for them for years. You can't watch YouTube videos, open a website on chrome or other internet browsers, watch Amazon prime, watch a few other video streaming services, listen to any podcasts, or stream any music! And, yes, I know how to use technology. I have restarted my phone, disconnected and reconnected to the network, updated all of my apps, deleted apps and then reinstalled them in case that was the problem, got my husband to check everything for me, etc. So now I just disconnect from their guest wifi, which is password protected and I'm fine with, and use my own downloaded files or my cell phone data. Maybe I can get past it with a VPN, but I haven't tried that yet. They must have some sort of barrier on their guest wifi that doesn't let anybody do anything. It sucks. So, I like this workout anytime. I can work out here, feel safe here, and enjoy my time here. Hopefully the wifi can get fixed and maybe the hydro massage can get moved around. Thanks guys!

Negative experience: Small gym, limited equipment, not a particularly clean, friendly or well maintained facility. Its normally staffed with one person or nobody. In my opinion the lack of staffing makes the safety and security of the facility questionable? My least favorite gym to workout in the knoxville area. *** I haven't been in this gym this year 2023 *** The invisible mystery owner, I assume, did not address a single concern I raised in their less than professional response. If a gym has no onsite staff, then who would you discuss your concerns with???

Negative experience: Typically very clean, but it is very small with a feeling of a lack of machines and equipment. Out of the 6 workout anytimes that I have worked out inside, this and the maryville location are the only 2 that feel like the owner of each does not put much effort or money back into the gym.

Fantastic experience: I started going here after moving in April and have really enjoyed it, I tend to go later at night and the door being locked unless you scan your membership card makes me feel a lot safer. I have never had cleanliness issues or overcrowding issues, even when I go in the middle of the day. Great gym!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for years, but just recently been going consistently. Very friendly staff that welcome you when you walk in. Very clean. They do a great job at keeping the sanitizing bottles full! I like the “small gym feel” because it’s not so overwhelming. :)

Fantastic experience: I have belonged to Court South, The Rush, Snap Fitness and YMCA. In fact, I have been working out for 30 yrs. By far this is the best experience with a gym I have ever had. The staff is friendly, helpful and they are always cleaning when not busy. The owner has even taken time to show me some different ab exercises between her regular training sessions with a member before. You can tell they appreciate all of their members. Its a really nice family oriented neighborhood gym.

Fantastic experience: Workout Anytime is an excellent facility! It is always clean, the staff is incredibly nice and helpful and it's never overcrowded. Jesse York, personal trainer to the stars, is the most courteous and professional trainers that I have ever encountered (look for the dude with red hair) not to mention he's just a great person. The owners are nearly always present and I believe even train. You will not be disappointed with your experience at Workout Anytime BEARDEN!

Fantastic experience: This is one of the cleanest if not the cleanest gyms I have ever been in. The staff is absolutely the best I have ever been around. They always speak to you and are always very helpful if you have questions or need a spot. They are in a great location and always have plenty of parking. I have been a member of other gyms in the past and none of them match the service and quality that I get from this workout anytime. The staff is friendly and helpful as well as informative on workouts, equipment, and nutrition. If you are looking for a gym I highly recommend this Workout Anytime location. The staff at this location has helped me to lose a considerable amount of weight and keep it off. If you are looking for a trainer or nutritionist to help you achieve your weight loss goals and become more informed on workouts or equipment Workout Anytime Bearden can help you like they have helped me.

Fantastic experience: Best workout place for the best price in Knoxville. Staff, owners, and other members are some of he best people I've met. I've worked out at the rush, golds gym and national fitness and if you want clean equipment, no long waits, access anytime at the best price around then this is your gym. Don't believe the trolls who think social media is a place to air your grievances instead of just being honest. Gym has casual fitness members, to big time exercise fans and everyone in between and they have the equipment and expertise to serve them all.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at Workout Anytime Bearden for a little over a year. It fits perfect into my busy working mom schedule as I go on my lunch break. I've been a member at other gyms and there is no comparison! Excellent equipment, very clean and doesn't have that "meat market" mentality of other gyms. I train with April, the owner, once a week & she has taken my fitness to a new level. I never feel intimated to ask for help. Just can't beat it for the price and value!!

Positive experience: Very small. Don't have the cleaning micro cloths or sweat rags like the oak ridge one. Nice though. Just very small, especially in the free weight area.

Negative experience: Gym was decent and kept clean however, make sure you have a certified document proving you canceled the membership or else you will continue to be billed. Understanding how to get out of this gym is something you will have to learn on your own as they give little assistance but have no problem sending collection agencies after you.

Fantastic experience: I have been working out with April twice weekly since Sept 21. She gives you her full attention when you’re training. She genuinely cares and is there to help. The place is always spotless, the equipment is in tip top shape, and the staff is always helpful/curious. I have visited other gyms and have noticed a big difference in the quality in their equipment. WOA’s equipment is more sturdy and seems “beefier”. We’re chipping’ away at the Ole Dad body one crunch at a time. Awesome place with an awesome experience!!!

The owners are fantastic and go out of their way to help members and make everyone feel welcome. The clientele is very “normal” everyday people, not gonna give you weird vibes or intimidate. The gym is always clean and April is usually around to answer any questions that individuals may have. She also takes time weekly to help women’s recovery home - making the workouts for my ladies both fun, stimulating and educational!

Clean and plenty of sanitizer and paper towels for ensuring the equipment is clean for use. I train with April and it's been a game changer. My fiancé also now comes and works with her as well. Fantastic experience: I have been a member of this gym since 2019 (I believe). When I first started I had never worked out in my life and felt totally intimidated. Luckily, April (owner) took me under her wing and began training me three times a week. Now, I feel confident in my workout routine and continue to see progress. I really don’t understand the bad reviews on here. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Kurt and April (owners) have made me feel like family every time I walk into WOA. The equipment is always clean and in working condition. When there are the occasional issues, the staff is on it quickly. Can’t say enough good things about WOA Bearden. Love it here and will continue to use this gym.

Fantastic experience: After having a corporate gym for years, I left that corporation and was looking for a new gym to call home. I wanted a clean, safe place with a friendly staff and patrons. Workout Anytime Bearden is like Cheers - where everyone knows your name. The equipment is great.The trainers are so knowledgeable and willing to show you a second (probably third) time how to use a piece of equipment properly. I love that they offer an orientation when you join! And lastly, the price is right! So glad I found a new home!

Fantastic experience: At this time, this gym is ideal for me - good location and centrally located in Bearden. Small, but not too small with all the equipment that I would ever use. Staff is very friendly and attentive, and they are always cleaning the facility and equipment. I go there primarily for personal training with the owner, April. Having never worked with a trainer before, I have to say that it has been highly beneficial and well worth the cost.

Fantastic experience: I’m glad I finally listened to my husband and joined this gym. This gym stands apart from other gyms because of the positive, upbeat, happy and family environment. April is an amazing owner, operator and trainer. Her and her team kick my butt twice a week! The staff that work there are kind and fun. The people that go there are very supportive and helpful. If you need a place to go unwind, smile, workout, trainer, learn about health and fitness, have a nice massage (chair) and tan you must come here. I have not found one thing I don’t like and I’m picky according to my husband!

Kurt and April own this and the Maryville location, and they are great honest people who treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. The equipment is not the most elaborate but is basically everything I need. There is a neat cardio room with a unique nature trails screen. The music playlist is awesome for when I forget my earbuds. Regarding the few bad reviews, if you just pay on time and notify them in 30 days they make it clear and simple how to cancel. As a UT student frustrated by the limited TRecs hours, I am extremely satisfied with this gym and the wonderful service.

Fantastic experience: Wether you are new to the gym or more experienced, this gym has everything you could need. Been a member since December 2019 and have not only reached my original goals in strength and aesthetic, but have made new ones to reach. Very clean, amazing staff, the other members are great and I have befriended a few. I personally plan on being here for quite some time.

Positive experience: Not a bad facility clientele are disrespectful. Dont rack weights and leave clips everywhere.

Negative experience: Too small, this is crazy compared to other workout anytime facilities. It got the job done but.. probably have to skip out on this location in the future

Positive experience: Great facility and owners. But 90 percent of the clients don't practice social distancing and do not even come in carrying a mask. The facility is not that ventilated and is populated by these people at all times of the day. Watch out when Covid variants creep up. Unfortunately this cannot be enforced. Too bad most clients are selfish.

Negative experience: Really small barely enough room to walk. I signed up and was told a fee was going to be charged after 45 days. I cancelled within 2 weeks because it was not convenient and I am still being charged the $53 to cancel. I was told every gym charges this. No save you the trouble with fees and spend a little extra for a nicer gym. National Fitness Center never charged me a cancelation fee or an annual fee for my membership.
