Fantastic experience: Great environment with amazing equipment. Staff was very friendly and extremely courteous, Amber helped us with plenty of information and answered all our questions. The basketball gym was great it had two courts and was very busy and had competitive pickup games. I would recommend to anyone in the area.

My old gym was comparable in terms of facilities but it felt that it was always crowded, I've never once felt crowded or like the gym was too busy for me to go!

Fantastic experience: Everyone is so friendly and helpful. So many classes with incredible instructors! Love the pool! The water is always warm and clean. The coed steam room and sauna are great.

Fantastic experience: Riverpoint Sports and Wellness is a great gym. I especially love the pools for H2O aerobics. It's a low chlorine system and the instructors are great especailly the Monday morning class. I also have a trainer, Cara, who understands my injuries and conditions so I can lift weights safely. Tuesday afternoon restorative yoga with Tiffany stretches me out for the week. I look forward to retirement so I can visit Riverpoint every day.

Negative experience: I called to ask if this facility accepted silver sneakers (they do not), and the membership person refused to answer my question unless I gave him my phone number. He became very rude around this. I had to get the manager to give me an answer. Simple question. I don't think this place is very welcoming.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! Everyone knows you and is so friendly to help. It is full of a variety of individuals with all fitness goals in mind. They are welcoming to the disabled and handicap community and are family oriented. The activities for individuals and family are wonderful.

Negative experience: So true story, I enjoyed Sports and Wellness for awhile. My health insurance pays for a discount and the facilities are pretty nice and have what I was looking for. Then at 38 I got diagnosed with late-stage cancer. Started some intense treatment and I could no longer go to the gym. I still had 1 or two months left on my contract. I asked if those could be waived or postponed and offered to supply proof of my diagnosis. The answer was absolutely not. I pleaded and even begged to no avail. So at a time I was on the verge of medical bankruptcy I still had to find the money for a gym membership that I couldn't even use. Now I understand Sports and Wellness is a buisness and revenue is the bottom line. I also understand a contract is a contract. Just really wish they could have treated me more like a person in that moment. About a year later I got a call from them asking if I would consider rejoining lol.

Positive experience: Love this place. People are amazing at the front and very helpful. Support staff and trainers are amazing. Only complaint and the reason for a 4 and not a 5 is the lights in the bathroom have been not working off and on for a year. Complained about it numerous times. It makes it hard to get ready for work.

Negative experience: This gym location is great for other amenities but mostly leaving the review about the pools and hot tub area. Although they are not the most clean pools out there and could use a little TLC the kids utilizing these is overbearing. I have utilized reserving lanes and there is never a problem when you have your own lane. Although it seems that there are families that go in there that let there kids run around without supervision. I used the hot tub the other night and after being a paid member and wanting to relax in the hot tub and soak my sore muscles; it’s hard too at this location. There were about 5 kids in there and even what seemed to be about a 2 year old in there with floaties which is against the rules. The kids were jumping in and out of the hot tub and into the pool constantly. It was unbearable. I am not one to complain but it seems to be a constant trend. Kids not supervised, underage, and running all around the pool areas. It would just be nice to inform families of the rules and enforce them. I’m no opposed to having kids in the areas but there is not respect for other people who pay trying to use the facilities. Other than that the gym and people are great. More monitoring of the kids around these hazardous areas and enforcing these rules would make this excellent. No one wants to try and relax while kids are kicking and jumping in and out.

Positive experience: They have upgraded and fixed the problems with the cardio room. I go very early in the morning when the weight room is not too crowded.

Positive experience: Today 8/21/24 I was at the pool outside!The manager or worker Susan arrived and asked me for my membership! It was very embarrassing for me. There were mothers with white Children! If I had had my phone in a laker I would have to bother to go show her my number! Susan said that the person had not checked my phone when I entered ! Of course I told her I even asked for towels ! It mede me feel very angry every one would think that she kicked me out! Because I felt so angry that I left! She is a racist person

Positive experience: I’ve been a member for over 15 years. The staff and trainers are friendly. I primarily use the pool and the cleanliness of the pool/hot tub/sauna has declined over the past few years, and especially over the past few months. The decking around the pool is slimy, has debris from the outdoors and from swimmers leaving bandaids, etc. The plaster inside the pool is stained and doesn’t look like it’s been scrubbed down. The hot tub water was cloudy today. Not sure the chemistry is being maintained. I enjoy the community of members and trainers at Riverpoint and hope the corporate office invests in maintaining their aquatic program to higher standards. Ultimately it’s a health and safety issue.

Fantastic experience: Sports and Wellness Riverpoint is the place to be when working on your fitness! Your experience will start off with the amazing and knowledgeable Cher in membership. Cher will walk you through the facility, provide answers to all your questions and is always available even after you sign up to provide guidance if needed. The trainers are on their game and if you get a chance talk to trainer Cara, do it, she will help you achieve all your fitness goals! The amount of effort that goes into facility is incredibly noticeable to all the senses! It always looks, feels, and smells so clean! Both pools indoor and outdoor are magnificent and inviting! I’m so happy I became a member and can enjoy this amazing place daily!

Fantastic experience: We have been going to Riverpoint for years and we love it! We started when our children were at home still. We had a membership during the summer so we could go swimming. My husband and I have been working out for years here. I do classes and use the cardio room and the weights. I'm currently in a boxing class that is a challenging class. My husband prefers the weights for his workouts. We have gotten to know other members, trainers, the manager and the employees. We feel comfortable there and like that it is family oriented.

Fantastic experience: Justin Cassin helped me become a member, and I'm so glad he did! He was so knowledgeable and thorough, giving me a tour and explaining all the amazing services, trainings, and classes available at Sports and Wellness. This was the best choice for me and my family. I definitely recommend!

Negative experience: Don’t sign up here unless you don’t ever plan to cancel because they won’t let you. I was on a month to month no contract plan and I cancelled THREE times and still keep getting charged. Last month I even got charged more than I usually do for no reason. I canceled over the phone in person and over the phone again and still got charged. I had to file a block on this merchant with my bank when I have all the proof of cancellation. They’re even trying to fight my chargebacks. I just want my money back. DO NOT GO HERE because this business has always had bad practices and they lie. I know multiple people who have had similar experiences so it’s not just me.

Negative experience: There’s plenty of gyms in Albuquerque that are reasonable than sports and wellness They have a lot of stuff which is nice, but if you’re not gonna use any of that, what’s the point of paying that price? That doesn’t make a lot of sense. So personal experience I advise you to try another Gym before you commit to this one

Fantastic experience: River point location is wonderful. Cher has excellent customer service and the manager as well always helping my teenager with the vending machines... If you've read my other review at a different location we'll never go back to or recommend BUT this location knows how to probably treat there customers. The shorter story is I have no where in writing or was not told that I would need to switch plans and the kids would no longer have access my daughter and I continued to work out together throughout Sept no one said anything to us then the incident at midtown still bothers me BUT my sons continued to workout throughout Sept and just now told they didn't have access exact same situation 100% different reactions. Cher was so calm and understanding she gave me valuable information and treated me like a human being and didn't turn my boys away or made them feel embarrassed thank you Cher and management! You guys are awesome!

Fantastic experience: New second-quarter body pump routine was great. The chest track was unbelievably hard. By the end I had to do every other rep.

Negative experience: For the outrageous prices. They should NOT be closing so early this is ridiculous! At least stay open till 10 that’s the least you can do !

Fantastic experience: Probably the best sports and wellness in Albuquerque however the turf area outside can definitely use some maintenance starting with taking a power washer or a vacuum to the turf and cleaning up the weeds and goat heads off where the tires usually end up

Negative experience: Great Gym and equipment. Never gets too packed at the time I went. The problem is they close early! As a family man, I wish they closed at 10. An extra hour would make all the difference. I had to switch back to defined fitness for this reason.

Negative experience: Pre-inflation membership huh? I want to know more about this insane deal! While you’re at it, you can tell me about why Planet Fitness has higher ratings?! WEIRD. It seems like you completely avoid peoples problems with situations or issues that arise with cleanliness or just general issues with the staff. I’m sure if you just acknowledged peoples problems (can’t help the Carl’s and Karen’s of the world) that the reviews would be a bit higher.

Negative experience: I did not have a good experience the few times I went here, the pool lanes were full at the times I was able to go and there were always lots of children in there. It felt more like a play time pool instead of being able to get serious laps in. Also be careful when leaving an honest review, whoever responds to these is extremely hostile in their responses to a low rating and honest feedback.

Negative experience: Awhile back I called to cancel my membership, asked if I could do it over the phone. Woman on the other end said she could do so, took my information, and said she'd cancel my membership. 3 months later I get a call from collections stating I owed Sports and Wellness $450+ for 3 months of membership and the absurd late fees they tack on (for reference I was in a program where I paid $50/month for membership). Never got a call I was late on a any payments from Sports and Wellness. When I called they refused to reduce any if the charges and said I had to come in to cancel the membership and claimed no one told me they'd cancel it for me.

Fantastic experience: Have been meaning to write this review for awhile. I rejoined back in January. Was a member right up to the covid shutdown. I positively love this gym! It's my favorite of all the clubs. I drive further, most days that I can, to come here. I do feel with all that is offered, compared to other gyms, the cost is worth it. Harmony, in member services, went above and beyond to be of assistance when I joined again. Management on down, the staff is friendly and helpful if you need anything. I must admit I don't much like the few changes post covid. Overall, they are not a huge deal. My only complaint is the hot water situation is not real great, especially compared to the other clubs. I greatly appreciate that gyms like this one exist! Thanks guys. I am coming back and adding a little bit that I thought of. A few things I really appreciate- It is nice that the towels are not washed in anything that is irritating to skin. The one thing that sets S&W apart for me is the outdoor pool. I absolutely love it. I also think its great that you can reserve lanes in advance for lap swimming.

Fantastic experience: Riverpoint Sports and Wellness is a beautiful gym with a friendly and knowledgeable staff! There is something for everyone here! They have racquet ball courts, basketball courts (inside and outside), an indoor and outdoor pool, an indoor track with weights and cables, etc., a converted racquet ball court that serves as a CrossFit-like room, cardio room, jacuzzis, saunas, and a studio for classes. The place is seriously awesome!!! If anyone says otherwise, then they are not, in my opinion, committed to a fit lifestyle. Seriously, how can you not love this place?

Fantastic experience: My membership had been frozen since April of 2020 when Covid began. I reactivated on March 1st & I was pleasantly surprised. The gym is cleaner & safer than before Covid began. My son tried the other gyms in the area and said S&W was less crowded & cleaner.

Negative experience: Arian George (Sales) Stay away, they do not adhere to Sports and Wellness policy, I’ve been a customer for over 8 years and because of my interactions with Arian will never come back to this business again. Once Nolan left the sales team has sent down!

Fantastic experience: Definitely a higher price than most gyms in the area bit you get what you pay for. This gym isn’t crowded at all. Very peaceful to work out in. The staff is great as well; really makes you feel welcome. In my opinion this is one of the best training facilities in the area and it’s worth the premium price tag.

Fantastic experience: I loved this gym. My kids got swimming lessons while I worked out. They enjoyed swimming in the indoor poor and outdoor pool. They have a private workout area which I used often. I could no longer afford the membership fee which is pricey. I just wish I could go back.

Fantastic experience: Gym it’s self is very pricey but I can take my whole family swimming with no problems. The swimming instructor was there had a no show client and she taught my 6 year old how to swim in an hour! She had no reason to teach my son we are still on the waiting list. The staff is super friendly and it’s very family friendly gym I love it.

The equipment is always very well maintained and up to date. They are always renovating to keep things new. The members are also nice. Not very many meat heads, which keeps grunting to a minimum!

Fantastic experience: I'm posting specifically to address the present conditions at Riverpoint, post-COVID shutdown. My goal is to share my experience with members who have not yet returned and might wonder what the situation is like. I've worked out at Riverpoint nearly everyday since it re-opened a few weeks ago. I use both the cardio room and weight machines on the main floor. I returned to RP with a wait-and-see approach, uncertain how comfortable I'd feel. I'm pleased to say that the measures RP has taken to ensure a clean, safe workout environment are impressive. Prior to entering the gym, a staff member takes each member's temperature, using a no-touch thermometer. When checking in at the desk, we're given a spray bottle of disinfectant and a towel to clean the machines we use. In the cardio room, every other machine is unavailable for proper distancing. Usually, the crowd is sparse enough that spacing is greater yet. On the floor, where the weight machines are located, the number of people varies quite a bit, depending upon the day and time. There are times where I've found myself avoiding some machines when there were too many people in the immediate vicinty. This hasn't happened that often. I can always find another machine where there are few or no people nearby and return later to any machine I avoided earlier after the area has cleared. Bottom line is that the spacing seems safe and adequate to me. Only a few people wear masks. I would consider wearing one on the floor when doing weight work for a higher comfort level, especially when it's more crowded. I've only witnessed one person not cleaning the machines he uses. Only one. (I assume his mommy always cleaned up for him.). Everyone one else cleans his/her machine thoroughly. Also, cleaning staff is constantly circulating throughout the entire gym, disinfecting machines. I'm not sure what more RP could do to ensure the gym is safe and sanitary. Their protocols have exceeded my expectations and I'm thrilled to be working out again.

Negative experience: Very poorly managed location.
