Fantastic experience: I love the ymca

Negative experience: Service sucks they kicked me out for my friend's fighting and it just sucks over all

Negative experience: ok im new to this facility and am contemplaring going back after working out i went to take shower the one whole side didnt even work the ones on otherside needed clr water came out maybe 4 holes at most, the drain looked moldy.

Negative experience: Barely any free weights and they are outdated not worth getting a membership

Fantastic experience: Love this family place.

Negative experience: I always enjoy coming to this YMCA. However as of recent, there is one specific lady at the welcome desk who definitely seems rude. Just plain condescending, and does not seem down to earth whatsoever. She has a short haircut, and is kind of aged. Other than her, I really like the Kendallville Y!

Negative experience: Very rude people. Not very welcoming! We will stick with the Dekalb County YMCA!

Negative experience: All of the teachers are volunteers which is great but no qualifications what so ever. The place is great to go swimming but might as well throw money in the garbage for having your kid learn how to swim.

Negative experience: very rude desk lady on the phone. i was asking about the pool and when open swim was because the schedule online is hard to understand and she had short answers and made me feel like i was annoying and stupid ☹️ every thing else is great it’s really just her

Negative experience: These views are my own and represent myself only. Ever since Mrs. Jansen left the Preschool, the leadership has been going down hill. I was told that I was over qualified for the position as a pre-k teacher at the YMCA due to my experience in a Montessori establishment. Multiple children had been sent home with pink eye and a child also had lice. I said that it would be important to notify parents of the issue and my concerns were passed aside. I even offered to write up a letter as the director Lisa Walter said that it was “too much work”. I made my views publicly known and was released from my job after meeting with the director and owner (Casey Weimer) due to my public announcement. I was demanded to apologize to the other teachers for making it seem as though I thought they were incapable at their job (their words not mine) when I simply requested that our leadership notify parents of their child’s wellness being at risk due to the cases found. The owner used a curse word with me when relieving me from the position. I absolutely despise this YMCA due to their lack of care and professionalism. You pay what you get for when it comes to pre-k care. A few of the teachers there had very positive attitudes but due to the poor leadership I would not recommend anyone put their child into the program. I withdrew my child upon my leave as the only way I knew what was really happening was working there. Highly recommend the Dekalb County YMCA for any early childhood educational needs. This happened February 2023 and I have waited to clear any bitter feelings but it’s an unfortunate establishment with very poor leadership and ownership regardless and I found better employment but others should know how little they care.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional employee disrespected my wife and embarrassed her in front of other parents customers about the issues she had with my child That now used to attend Pre-k I understand people have bad days but we all do but obviously this employee can't disapline Her own emotions and lost a customer and needs to under stand that things happen Iwhen it's comes having kids and having a busy schedule people make mistakes and no one is perfect I'm very disappointed that they have an employee with such a bitter attitude working at the ymca in kendaville I don't know her name but my wife spoke to me about it and all I know she has blonde hair she also complained how she called my wife about an hour ago we don't live close to to kendaville and it's about a 30m drive for us and she told my wife why we took so long to pick up our child we have other children and one of them has disabilities and we had to pick ger up from school to take her to therapy I don't recommend parents taking there children to the pre-k classes to this place if they speak to adults in a disrespectful manner infront of other parents imagine how they treat the children when we are not present This happend 11/02/2023

Negative experience: I can't use the pool because they keep changing the schedule. I show up for a shared pool and I am told it is for swim lessons only. I joined for the pool. They need to solve this issue! It's been going on for months

Fantastic experience: Great place with good people

Negative experience: I have been going to the y lifting for 2 years and have had no problems with anyone it has always been so positive with everyone. Till they hired some new girl who works upstairs who gets in fights with everyone who labeled me as racist and homophobic and has only ever talked to me once and reported me to the owner after I got the first call from the owner I immediately ended my membership I should not have had to have this conversation with him to begin with it’s pathetic and a bunch of drama. Not dealing with it.

Negative experience: Very rude upstairs worker throwing smirky comments at me and my buddies for no reason as well being very arrogant about her job thinking she can yell at us for the smallest things or for no reason in which after the problems we had there we ended switching gyms because of it

Negative experience: Most of my experiences have been good This one not so much... tried renting a space for a party They said yes to the day I asked about then never got back to me with the paperwork Multiple attempts made with no call back Now I have to relocate

Fantastic experience: I use the gym and pool here pretty often! All the staff are really nice.

Fantastic experience: The ymca has a wonderful staff. They are friendly and very helpful. I especially love the ladies at the front desk... I completely recommend call center family YMCA in Kendallville Indiana!

Positive experience: I can't rate the full experience b/c I have only been here for my son's swim class, but I can say that the new family restrooms aren't set up for parents with babies and toddlers. One room has a seat to strap them in while you change, but no changing table. One has a changing table with no seat, and one has neither. The class itself was fine, the teacher was pretty good.
