Fantastic experience: Tony did a great job of explaining the personal training program to me and giving me an overall view of the programs offered. He was easy to talk to and get a hold of when I had questions. His enthusiasm for his job and FitnessU gave me a very positive impression and I was very excited to start my training there. Josh has been excellent to train with. He challenges me and makes me want to work harder. The gym is clean and not crowded and the atmosphere isn’t intimidating at all.

Fantastic experience: Its a very nice facility with up to date equipment and overall service and cleanliness is great. Some of the seasoned members could learn to be a bit more courteous and understanding of newer members however this is a reflection of the individuals not the overall place. I would recommend coming here.

Negative experience: Money hungry for sure! My trainer was nice but system wise the gym is terrible when you sign in you don’t read the papers in person. You just sign off the electronic pad and then they expect you when you cancel things you know all of it it’s seriously a specific way of tricking people and they Force you to pay even after you canceled The contract by signing but they chose they day after my payment date so I can pay for the new month I have paid in total for two months of unused training session along with a 3 months gym member. Keep in mind, they force you to become a member in order for you to get the training session, but they do not elaborate on this when you start. Erie worst gym.

Fantastic experience: FitnessU has the amenities I look for at a gym like swimming pool and sauna. Group fitness schedule has enough strength and cardio classes to get and stay in shape. Month-to-month membership option works perfect for my travels. I recommend everyone to check it out!

Fantastic experience: Fitness U is my jam. Sure other flashier gyms may come along with cheaper membership rates. Leave those for the high school kids who are there to socialize. And of course there will always be gyms for the folks with muscles on muscles on muscles. This gym is some where in the middle. A gym for the rest of us. From the new comer, fresh to the fitness game just trying to slim down to the seasoned, active athlete looking to build muscle, this gym welcomes all and treats you like you belong.

Fantastic experience: Me? At a gym? Yes! And all because of Conrad Woods being my personal trainer. Conrad is a very talented guy. He is helping me in a million ways. FitnessU is a great place, clean, great machines and very friendly and even kind people. And, very knowledgeable trainers.

Fantastic experience: Only registered today for Renew Access (United Healthcare) however, was very happy to be given a complete tour of the facilities and equipment. Looks great!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym. It was recommended to me by a close friend that has been going for over 10 years. I had been going to a franchise gym for roughly two months before I made the transition so I was still somewhat new to the scene. I made the decision to try out the personal training and got set up with Josh. I look forward to our sessions every week and he has helped me make some incredible progress! My favorite thing about this gym is the community. The staff is absolutely wonderful as they are always welcoming members with a smile and are extremely helpful. The members themselves are approachable and very kind. I very much recommend this gym to anyone looking for a true community.

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym to work out in. They have plenty of machines and weights for everyone. The pool and hot tub are well taken care of. It's a huge plus when most gyms in Erie won't pay for either. They also have a dry sauna for those that like the heat. I would recommend this gym over any other in Erie.

Negative experience: Fitnessu's gym is dated and equipment is outdated. There's not much variety in equipment, causing wait time for machines. The smell of chlorine throughout the gym fumigates the aging locker room, I guess?

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! Great place to work out, and just feels like a gym should. No gimmicks, no fancy talk, just the equipment and people you need to help better yourself. The personal training is top notch too.

Negative experience: Do not do business with these people. I paid $1500 for a trainer for 3 months. My trainer no-showed on me over 6 times. I get put with a new trainer who ends up canceling on me over 20 times in 2 months. I spoke with Tony the manager about a refund and I get told no because I'm under contract. I never even got an apology and I wasn't allowed to transfer my training sessions either. I will never return and I will forever boycott this gym.

Negative experience: Front desk guy was trying to be helpful but guest rules are very poor. You have to be over 15yrs old to be a guest that uses the pool. We are from out of town staying at a local hotel trying to get some laps in. My boys are just trying to train and I am lifeguard certified. I understand why the rules are there but common since is super frustrating

Fantastic experience: I took a tour of the gym in February as I had been currently going to a chain I just wasn’t excited about anymore. From the moment I walked in, everyone was so nice and accommodating. I immediately received a tour and upon signing up, I got two months for just $20 and a free training session. I hadn’t intended on doing any training, but I had liked the trainer and thought it could be really good for me. Fast forward to now, just a little over 6 months later, and I absolutely love it here! I’m still going training and look forward to it every week. Everyone here is so nice and motivating. They have a wide variety of equipment, a track, classes, pool, and sauna. You won’t find a better facility with better people.

Positive experience: The music is ALWAYS at a very loud obnoxious level, especially in the free weight room in the back. It’s to the point where i can barely hear the music coming from my head phones.

Negative experience: FitnessU is a nice little gym with a lot of potential and friendly patrons and staff. However, it has fallen into a serious state of disrepair in recent months. Most of the equipment on the floor is rusty, there is black mold in the showers, the locks on most of the lockers are broken making things vulnerable to theft, the door on the sauna is perpetually broken, the sauna itself is gross and rarely cleaned, and some people who continuously break the club rules are allowed to maintain their membership. Unfortunately it seems the current ownership has decided to squeeze as much money out of the place as possible until it completely runs into the ground instead of investing what it needs to make it a truly nice gym again. Hopefully they will make the right decision.

Negative experience: Went to this gym for about half a year and had to move, here are some takeaways for anyone wanting to visit this gym: Pros- - David is a cool guy and always has a smile -Free weights (Great ) Cons: - half of the equipment is new and the other half is old and rusty crap - 80% of lockers are either broken or people leave their locks on the locker (Not bad but not good) - Sauna door is accessible by a string ( yes I’m not joking) staff claims they will fix it, but it’s been 6 months and nothing has happened, seriously how hard is it to install a handle to a door? - People claiming there is black mold on the men’s shower are correct ( disgusting) - if you plan on canceling your membership they will bill for for the next month as well - gym is small and always packed, sometimes have to wait 30 minutes for a bench. Most of the time it’s a hassle to get a lane for the pool. - Mirrors are cracked and staff have no intentions on fixing them. - maintenance for machines takes a century Hopefully this catches the attention of the manager

Negative experience: This place is in shambles. Rusty crusty equipment. Things hanging from the ceiling. Black mold and missing tiles in the showers, not to mention the shower heads barely work. Lockers with broken latches so you can’t even lock your items up. The sauna door has a disgusting literal piece of string to close the door. I’m all for supporting local businesses but this place is sad and run down. It’s clear they aren’t investing in repairs and updates.

Negative experience: After they took over the other gym they kept my membership at 40$ instead of there membership of 24$ for 8 months this went on u til I found out that you had to ask them to change your membership . I was a member for 9 years and this is how they treat you ! They even turned me over to collections screw them!!!! I will never step foot in any of there gyms poor way to run a business!

Negative experience: I am really upset that I personally spoke to the guy at the front desk with my concerns about a violent offender who has a membership there. Not only did they lie to me that they'd never seen him before when I showed them a picture, but they promised me they'd never give a membership to someone with his history. Come to find, they lied about that too, since the dude recently harassed my friend who has a membership there. Dude is about 40 and my friend is 18 btw.... Really disappointed they don't take the safety of their female clientele seriously!! To all other women who work out there, if you see a bald dude with a bunch of blackout and face tattoos, stay away!!

Negative experience: signed a 3 month contract special for personal training…Tony tries saying at the end of 3 months that it was for 6 months and no where in the contract did it specify the length. Also refused to do a refund when I was not supposed to be billed for next cycle.
