Fantastic experience: Darby is the best swim coach I’ve dealt with so far. I’ve brought my two kids for swim lessons several times over the past year and she’s been calm, patient and understanding with them. Even when one went ballistic, she helped him face his fears in the water and afterwards he was smiling and laughing. Couldn’t have asked for anyone better, there is a reason she runs the program. Excellent.

Negative experience: Hi everyone, I’m reaching out because I recently discovered that Vent Fitness charged my account again after my 12-month membership ended, without sending me any reminder or notification. Like many of you, I signed up thinking the membership would end after a year, but they’ve continued to charge me under a hidden auto-renewal policy — without even a single email or warning. This seems unfair and misleading, especially when we were not clearly informed about renewal or given a chance to cancel in advance. I’ve already contacted them and raised the issue, but I believe it’s important that we speak up together. If you had a similar experience — unexpected charges, no reminders, confusing contract terms — let’s consider filing a joint complaint with the New York Attorney General’s Office or the Better Business Bureau. When multiple members raise their voices, it’s much harder to ignore. Feel free to reply or message me if you’d like to take this further together. Even one message from Vent Fitness, like: “It’s been 12 months, your membership is due to renew on [date], please contact us if you wish to cancel” —would have made this fair. But none of us received even that. Let’s hold them accountable.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. We understand how billing questions can be frustrating, and we’d like to clarify how our membership agreements work. All VENT Fitness memberships are set to auto-renew at the end of the initial 12-month term, not into another year, but into a month-to-month agreement, which provides members with more flexibility and only requires 30 days’ notice to cancel. This is not a hidden policy as it’s clearly outlined on page one of the agreement, which each member signs off on when joining. Our goal with auto-renewal is to prevent service interruptions and avoid locking members into another full-year contract. That said, we’re always open to feedback on how we can improve communication including reminder emails before renewal and we’ll be reviewing our practices with that in mind. I am pretty sure we cancelled your membership and refunded you for unused time but If you’d like to discuss your specific situation further, we’d be happy to help. Negative experience: I’m very disappointed with the treatment I received at the Guilderland location. I’ve been a loyal Vent Fitness member for nearly three years. I recently returned from law school out of state and paid $70 for a one-month membership on May 7, 2025. The staff gave me a temporary tag and never told me it was only valid for one day. When I came back to use the gym on May 10, an employee spoke to me rudely and told me to leave after I calmly explained I was unaware of the pass limit. I asked for a manager, and though I explained the situation clearly, the manager (Robert) stood by silently and did nothing to address the employee’s behavior. This kind of treatment is unacceptable. It felt disrespectful and dismissive and I question whether I was treated differently because of who I am. Vent Fitness should be a welcoming and professional environment, and this experience left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome.

Fantastic experience: The entire team at the Guilderland vent is spot on perfect. I have been a member of many health clubs over the years and this location cannot be praised high enough. STEPHEN, the all-around great guy who opens up every day Monday through Friday and make sure the place is clean is just outstanding. Every one of the trainers is just great. I was part of the ultimate fitness challenge that Mitch lead and I was one of the most senior people in the class that I was never meant to feel older or out of place or out of shape just totally lifted up and boosted and had an incredible experience. For as young as Mitch is his years above, everybody in passion and dedication. His customer service and thoughtfulness is flawless. Rob, the manager is fantastic. They make me feel like I am important and wanted to be there. I think of every day is better than the day before. I can’t praise this club enough. Keep doing what you’re doing and thank you again. Fantastic experience: Vent Fitness is a beautiful fitness club with a welcoming atmosphere. The variety of machines, weights, exercise equipment and classes they offer is top notch. They’ve got it all - from tanning, massage beds, cold plunge, pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub, oxygen bar, protein bar, merch, products, a large team of experienced trainers and knowledgeable staff. They offer fitness challenges that are backed by inspirational professionals that will push and train you right into a healthier version of yourself. I feel like I’m part of the Vent family every time I walk through the doors! Thanks Vent!!

Negative experience: I would like to increase the rating, but unfortunately it seems who ever manages these gyms does not care about the customer experience. If this person walked throughout their own gyms, they would see the mess that plagues nearly every VENT location. I found out recently all locations are owned by LIA, which sort of explains some things... I'll just leave it at that to be nice. There is a reason all the "real" lifters aka power lifters and body builders have left most every VENT location for ABC fitness and BEST fitness. This gym's members disrespect the gym, and the owners let them do it... you have to proactively make it loud and clear when you break the rules you get punished... just like the 50 dollar fines for speeding in school zones that is going on currently. See below for the detailed break down of what has ruined VENT fitness. I am planning to take my money elsewhere soon. I've attached pictures of VENT's use of your $25 a month, mind you that one of the power racks no one was back there lifting or using the equipment (and weights loaded on nearly every machine, and racked in all the wrong locations making it a pain to get the weights you need off the rack). I cleaned up everything for the staff that day, and have been doing so when I'm there which ruins my workout in terms of getting out in a timely manor. THE GOOD: Friendly staff, plenty of weight equipment + cardio equipment, also a pool/basketball court (for those interested). THE BAD: 8 out of every 10 members don't put their weights away when done and have NO CLUE WHERE to put their weights (bumper plates and regular plates mixed on the same rack in all different variants of 45/25/35 mixed together), it says "bumper plates only" by the power racks at guilderland and people can't read apparently, weights sprawled all over the floor, when the equipment breaks it takes weeks if not months to fix, no real maintenance staff from what I'm seeing (no one is inspecting the equipment, and it's very obvious as cables snap on people mid lift by the cable machines and loose bolts on a bunch of the benches/equipment which is a major safety hazard), who ever is "fixing" stuff clearly isn't that skilled at it (I turn screws for a living, I can tell), not a single staff member to be seen teaching the members gym etiquette (putting their weights away, fining them for breaking the gym rules etc.), guilderland location seems to have a broken flusher on one of the toilets (there's always a nasty turd floating in the toilet because no one can figure out how to flush it lol), there's usually piss all over the floor by the urinals on the weekend and clearly no one is cleaning the place on the weekend (seems to be all locations). At guilderland there was a sink broken for 3 months, a soap dispenser hanging from the wall for months, multiple broken equipment that gets "fixed", then the "out of order" sign is put back on it a week later... probably because no one is properly fixing this stuff. Hire some real maint ppl please... this is getting embarrassing.

Negative experience: I was there tonight 03/10/2025 and was disappointed by the way the staff handled closing time. 30 minutes before closing, they started turned off and on the lights, which felt disrespectful to those of us who pay for a high monthly membership in town, It’s common knowledge when the gym closes, and we don’t need reminders like that. The atmosphere was affected by this action, and it gave the impression that the staff were unprofessional. I believe that members deserve a welcoming environment, even as the closing time approaches. I hope management can address this, as it can significantly impact the member experience.

We want to apologies that you had a negative experience last night as we never want our members to feel this way. Our closing procedures are to turn on and off the lights with about 10 minutes before close to give members a heads up we will be closing soon. for them doing it 30 minutes before is unacceptable. The reason we flash the lights is because most of the time we have members who are very focus in there workout who lose track of time and or will try to stay after hours to continue to workout. Our closers have a series of task to do after we close as we always have members trying to stay after we close. We have amazing members at our gym and we want to do our best to give everyone the best experience possible. I promise we don't do this to be disrespectful. I will sit down with staff personally and talk to them and make sure we are not doing this to early or multiple times.

Positive experience: Great equipment Lots to offer Negative- Steam Room, Sauna was absolutely gross. Place needs some major cleaning Feb 8th the weekend staff at the front desk is useless. NO Child care at this location and a few other things have changed. Really need to update the website. I Gifted 2 membership for Christmas and just went in this past weekend as a guest and was really disappointed in the cleansingness.

Negative experience: Shit is constantly broke hot tub has been broken for weeks. Worst facility ever

Negative experience: Fairly large for a vent fitness, solid lap pool, decent equipment, but needlessly hard to cancel a membership. They won't cancel your membership in store even if you signed up in the store. They send you to the website and the website cancelation functionality does not work.

Negative experience: I never do reviews as I get as a business owner myself, but it’s getting out of hand. As a member of the Guilderland vent fitness they reserve the basketball court 5 days a week and do it when most adults are out of work. Why are we paying 50 dollars a month if most days we can’t even use the basketball court! I’m not trying to cause problems, but it’s ridiculous that they need to make money on top of the money they already get from members. What’s the point of paying extra if we never get to use the court. I think there is a common middle ground but 5 days a week seems unacceptable in any capacity. Also the volleyball nights they get to play till 10 pm. With basketball the court closes at 9 pm. I’m not saying it’s racism or anything like that but it’s a little fishy and raises a lot of eyebrows. We have sent emails about this before and never got a response. All we want is to be able to use the gym like we pay for and as of right now that’s not happening.

On our website you’ll find a copy of our court schedule for each club, which shows the current availability over the course of the week. We work hard to balance our revenue opportunities with the impact on our members, and while availability is limited during those prime hours, we do have some alternative options for you.

In Guilderland, we offer half-court availability on Mondays and Wednesdays, while in Latham, you can use the half-court on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Additionally, there is 100% open availability on weekends across both locations.

I understand that these options may not align perfectly with your schedule, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We’ll continue to monitor availability and make adjustments as needed to ensure we can accommodate as many members as possible. Your feedback will halp us make better decisions in the future. Fantastic experience: Vent Fitness is hands down the best gym in town! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the dynamic duo at the front desk—Mitch and Steve. These guys run this place like it’s a five-star hotel, but with more sweat and less room service. Whether it’s getting you membership, or just making sure your day’s off to a good start, these two keep everything running in tiptop shape. Now, let’s talk about the real star of the show: the PB Cup protein shake. It’s not just a post-workout snack, it’s basically dessert in a cup! Honestly, I’d sign up for a membership just to have one of those shakes on the regular. It’s like they took all the gains and packed them into the perfect blend of peanut butter and chocolate heaven. If you’re looking for a gym that’s got everything—top-notch equipment, awesome classes, and a front desk crew that makes you feel like a VIP—Vent Fitness is where it’s at. Plus, the PB Cup shake. Fantastic experience: I play volleyball in a league that rents out the basketball/sport court here on Thursdays. From what I have observed the place is well run and they recently did some updates and additions to other areas. Bathrooms have been clean when I have visited and staff has been friendly.

Negative experience: A policy that aggressively takes money from you once you’ve decided to cancel: 1-2 months charge + cancellation fee. They should honor a satisfaction guarantee for new members. Latham, NY

Negative experience: Vent will refuse to cancel your membership even if you move. I moved out of Albany 2 months ago, and despite me sending bank statements, utilities bills, and our new lease agreement, Vent still refuses to cancel our membership (despite saying in our contract that we can cancel in the event of moving more than 25 miles from the gym location), and continues to bill our account. Do not sign up for this gym as they will never stop billing you.

Matthew, I am looking into your account now and you are PENDING CANCEL. If you are in contract and provide proof of relocation your cancellation should take no more than 30 days from the date of the request and proof provided. I see that you contacted our Billing company and requested the cancellation on June 11th and proof of relocation was received on the 19th. According to your account your June 21st payment was the last payment due and your account is cancelled. You have access to the gym until July 20th. Not sure where the miscommunication is happening. Negative experience: Hope you're not trying to squat or deadlift in the near future. Took down all but one squat rack/deadlift platform to replace them all and it's taking multiple days instead of replacing them one at a time.

Kevin, tough review :) We bought 4 brand new platforms and racks but ran into issues with the installation company. Sorry it took a day or two to get done but the managers put the units together themselves and got the room back in business. Sometimes thing outside of our control happen but we do our very best to make lemonade from lemons. We now have 5 deadlift platforms and squat racks with a full stock of bumper plates for your leg day needs. Go get em bud.

Negative experience: SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM !!!!! While the equipment at Vent Gym is decent, Canceling your membership at Vent Gym is a real hassle. Not only is the process really complicated, but it also costs a lot - members have to pay a whopping $79 cancellation fee. This fee applies no matter why you want to cancel, which feels unfair to unhappy members. Once you're signed up, it feels like a trap - it's hard to leave without paying up. It's not as easy as joining, and it's frustrating to feel stuck in a membership you don't want. I strongly suggest thinking twice before signing up for Vent Gym, because getting out can be a nightmare. I moved from New York to Texas in April, but Vent Fitness is still charging me. I requested to cancel my membership in April, but they ignored my request and continue to charge me every month. Their customer service is one of the worst in the world. When you call customer care, they provide you with an email address to send your concerns. If you email them, you receive an automatic reply stating that you will get a response in seven business days, but it usually takes two weeks. They often reply asking for additional proof or information, which extends the conversation. If you reply, it takes another two weeks to get a response, while their payments team continues to charge the amount in the meantime.

I am trying to locate your account to see what happened to your cancellation request but I don't see you in the computer as a member. We do require 30 days notice for cancellation requests and if you are in contract we would have asked for proof of relocation since our membership pricing is based on an annual amount broken into monthly payments. Fantastic experience: I can’t imagine a better deal, a cleaner and more flexible facility, than this gym. The base membership is perfect for a beginner, super budget-friendly, all the equipment and cardio and free weights you could ask for. They’ve even recently added more space in the back for additional power racks, deadlift spaces, and leg presses. The higher-tier memberships include things like tanning, pool, climbing wall, fitness classes, basketball court, and personal training. All good stuff, you just need to find the thing that best suits your needs. If I could find anything to be critical of, I would say that this is not a 24-hour facility. If you’re planning to work out before 5 AM, this might not be the place for you. Otherwise, overwhelmingly positive experience and I recommend it to my friends.

Fantastic experience: The Guilderland Vent was my first gym home when i moved upstate. I now toggle between Guilderland and Latham locations. I adore this gym, it offers great classes (take any class with Gerald and you will be glad you did!), weights galore, and the Splash area has recently had some renovations. This is a very popular location so parking can be tricky but you will find a spot.

Negative experience: Vent was a great gym for me. Affordable, lots of equipment, helpful staff. However I moved about a half hour drive from the closest locations. I tried it out for a while, and it cost way too much with gas and it was a huge waste of time. I tried to cancel my membership and they refused unless I had a valid reason (such as moving). They told me to email someone, I did and never heard back. Meanwhile, this is the second time I’ve come to the gym and can’t find a SINGLE parking spot in the ginormous parking area. Lately when I have been coming, all of their stretching/mat areas are under construction. The floor/free weights/machines are 10x busier than usual so it’s impossible to do anything besides cardio. Not only have I wasted so much on gas, but I’ve wasted hours of my life to get a subpar workout if I’m lucky. Can’t wait till I’m out of this contract. Better to stay home then go to this location.

Negative experience: Where the adjustable cable x-over is in the back of the treadmills on the main floor downstairs there are 5 stations with only 7 black handles and one of them is different from the others so if 2 people use 2 stations other than the lat pulldown you are out of luck and its been that way for years.Also there is only one v-shaped tricep pushdown bar for the whole gym.Asked if they would order some awhile ago and they said they would..still waiting

Fantastic experience: I love this gym, hands down! Wanted to give a solid review! Been going since December 2022. Everyone who works here is seriously so very sweet. (As a plus-size woman) I never feel any sort of judgment here, from the other gym-goers or the staff members. From the front desk, the juice bar, or the trainers, I've never felt so welcome at a gym before until VENT! MUCH more relaxed and much less judgemental than PF, for sure. My partner and I have been meeting with our trainer, Amelia, since about December 2022 and she has been nothing short of amazing! Caring, listens, supportive, encouraging, and never makes you feel bad about yourself. If you can't do a certain exercise, she quickly finds alternatives. Motivates you to keep going, and pays close attention to your reps! The staff members are always so willing to be helpful, give advice, or just have a chat! Very friendly, very sweet, and always very welcoming! The gym itself is very clean and inviting and there are LOTS to do! The hydro beds are amazing. The equipment is clean and easy to use. There are plenty of machines welcome to everyone. There's room to be in your own little element (most of the time!) It does get rather busy sometimes which can make it stressful, but the staff is willing to find workarounds for you at ease! Great gym!

Fantastic experience: Literally my #1 favorite place in Albany when I was here for college. Prefer the Guilderland location more than Latham but overall everyone at this gym seem to be very serious and motivated about their fitness journey which overall adds to the environment to motivate you to workout. They have everything you need to get in a serious workout and usually rush hour times are from 5ish-8pm (6pm is when majority of the gym starts to look busy).There are groups of high schoolers that come during rush hour but never had any issues as majority of them also are there to get in their workout in and don’t usually disrupt anyone but there are also groups of adults that also like to come in as groups as well. Overall I think this gym stimulates positive gym culture so don’t be too afraid of the groups because this gym is amazing!!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of VENT in Guilderland for around a year and I am continually impressed by the facility and the staff that they have. The professionalism of the staff and the positivity that flows through the building are phenomenal! Shoutout to Sam P. for being an unbelievable trainer and motivator, as well as all of the trainers that lead the level 2 and 3 classes. The location is great, the rates are reasonable for the services provided- not to mention the delicious smoothies! Definitely worth your time!

Fantastic experience: I've been a member at Vent for 11 months and absolutely love it! Their class schedule is perfect - and I can always find a time that fits my busy life. When not taking a class, I can always get on cardio equipment or use the weights, balls, etc. I think one of my favorite things is that people of all ages, shapes and sizes go to Vent. I take classes with senior citizens and college students. The instructors always give different levels to do the exercises, so everyone in the class is catered to.

Fantastic experience: This place is wonderful. I just joined, and everyone is fantastic. People complain a lot about this gym in the comments but their comments show their lack of actual gym knowledge. I lifted all throughout college and have become out of shape so I joined a gym to get back into the shape I was in in college. Gyms are crowded. If you don't want a crowded gym, you'll pay a very pretty penny. Gyms have lots of treadmills because the average person is too intimidated to touch the weights....abs Most people don't use machines for abs..... And yes, the renovations are continuing and will be done this winter....so not a lie. So onto the gym. Yeah, there are a few people there, but at 5...6 o'clock at night....it's really pretty easy to find equipment. If the equipment I wanted wasn't available....it wasn't a long wait for it. There is a lot of variety in equipment....more than other gyms I have seen. My only criticism is that I wish they had a bit more of the lighter dumbbells. My mother has been starting to go to the gym and there was one set of 3# for her and the 5# were quickly snatched up. I also HATE running inside but cold air mutilates my nose in winter so I have to run on a treadmill. VENT knows how boring this is so they have tons of activities...TVs....music....and a virtual screen that looks like you are running through Arizona trails or even Venetian streets. And for the person who enjoys classes....there are plenty! The staff are friendly...and they definitely don't judge....as my mom is overweight and they have wonderful to her. They are great for answering questions and are open to suppirting you to meet your goals. I highly recommend this place!

Negative experience: Mask mandate is not being enforced in the Gym. Not sure why Management is not monitoring. Many members have mask on their chin or below their nose.. also Gym is not being cleaned as it used to .. disinfectant wipes replaced with cheap cleaning spray and hand sanitizing stations removed. Negative experience: Bunch of crooks. First, they doubled the rates on the college kids in Albany then when you try and cancel, they wait 2 weeks before they send confirmation email stating you have cancelled so they can get an extra $21.99 from these poor college kids. Absolutely pathetic manager Rob who gets off overcharging these kids. The gym itself isn't worth $10 a month let alone $21.99. I will be filing a formal complaint with the better business bureau about their billing practices and how they have probably been doing this to numerous college students and its time they don't get away with it anymore!!!!

Michelle, we appreciate your feedback. I’d be curious to hear more about the circumstances around your experience. Since re-opening after the pandemic, we raised our basic membership rates from $9.99 to $19.99. Although this is double, it is what we needed to do to continue to stay open and operate our 45,000 square-foot facility with amenities ranging from swimming pools And Hydro Massage beds to group exercise classes, and personal training. By no means was this is an attack targeting students. Our membership cancellation policy requires 30 days notice part of cancellation. We do this to make sure we have enough time to process cancellations and we feel that it’s better than just charging a flat cancellation fee. at the time of the rate increase, we notify their members over 30 days in advance so if a cancellation was requested, the final charge would have been at the existing rate and not the new rate. I do feel that we have done everything ethically, and in accordance with our membership agreements. We always consider the impact of the changes we make on our members before making any business decisions.

Negative experience: Gym is a little overcrowded but all and all not bad. The reason for the rating is because I cancelled my membership two weeks ago and just got a monthly charge. Will be disputing it and if it continues I'll go to the BBB.

Fantastic experience: Vent fitness has convenient locations and even the basic gym only plan allows you to go to any Vent fitness locations (of which I've only been to Guilderland and Niskayuna, NY locations so far). Guilderland Vent is newer and has more amenities if you choose a more comprehensive plan (such as a pool, rock climbing wall, and basket ball court to name a few). Niskayuna Vent has a better parking lot and cleaner dressing room and has great equipment as well (not as new as Guilderland but still a great gym). Staff at both facilities are friendly & helpful.

Fantastic experience: In a year when our fitness industry throughout NY and other states like CA was practically destroyed during Covid I was so thankful to find the Vent Fitness facility had not only survived but was thriving with enthusiastic members again. I have frequented the Guilderland location for over two decades whenever I visit family back in the capital district. Vent has continually progressed over the years with offerings of new equipment and services. Since Covid, they have incorporated extensive cleaning protocols of equipment for which the members have become active participants. And while many companies and businesses in the Capital District have lacked and failed with customer service since opening up after Covid, (sometimes for lack of employees), Vent Guilderland has not succumbed to this. In the 21 years I have worked in the fitness industry in Los Angeles and Southern CA, some of which has been at Flagship locations for North America, I pay attention to customer service. The Vent team has a stellar cast of employees. I particularly found the interaction with Ben Garcia to not only be stand out but to be a case study of what needs to happen post covid to engage old members and encourage new ones to come in. Sustained and focused eye contact is a powerful tool for communicating conviction and confidence with members and Ben I can tell is a natural. His genuine and sincere interest in members and passion for what he does displays his commitment to exceptionalism and would easily place him a position in West Los Angeles or Beverly Hills top fitness facilities. Ben also remembered who I was after my first couple days back and took accountability for an issue that was not necessarily anyone’s fault but had taken up a bit of my time. (Seems an old neighbor I use to have is in their system with a first name and last name, equivalent to my first name and middle name). And a shout out to the maintenance and facilities manager for finding some equipment that I had left there and securing it in a safe place. It’s a huge relief to know this club puts their members first without question both pre and post Covid.

Negative experience: I checked this gym out, thinking of switching and when I walked through today I realized why I would never join vent. First off it is way over priced. Second when I was checking things out, the equipment is old probably been there for years. They definitely don’t invest in new stuff from what I could tell, way to much cardio not being used and a free weight area way way over packed. There was dumbbells and plates all torn up looked like someone ate them. Then everyone was standing around on their phones not lifting. Looks way too crowded to even deal with that, nobody racking their weights, half the people not wiping down after they used the machines. I walked out definitely all set with not joining and staying at abc ,

Negative experience: Pre-Pandemic Vent would have normally received a 2 Star rating but with the actions of Vent Fitness within the last year, I wish I could give them a 0 Star rating. After shutting down the gym back on March 16th 2020, Vent Fitness decided to charge my monthly membership fee the following day after they announced on Facebook they would be closing until further notice. Then when gyms were allowed back to open at 1/3 capacity, they decided again to charge people a yearly fee regardless if they felt safe to go to the gym or not; knowing that nobody was allowed to use the gym for half a year. At this point, I decided to freeze my account and wanted to wait until I felt it was a safer environment before I returned to Vent Fitness. A couple months went by and unbeknownst to me, my account was unfrozen and I was charged another monthly fee. My assumption was that I would have had it frozen until the pandemic was over so I wasn’t going to get repeatedly charged every few months, but that wasn’t the case. I tried to reach out about all the preposterous fees and never received any justification for this matter. After a few more attempts to get clarification, I received a couple emails saying I would be credited with one month free (The money should have been put into my banking account rather than credited) and that the monthly fees would be increasing more than 30%. I called recently to confirm I had some credit towards the gym and was told I had no such thing. The employee told me that a manager would get back to me and I never received any call from Vent Fitness. Regardless of what any employee of Vent Fitness says, the way they practice business is unethical and borderline criminal. Oh wait, I forgot to tell you why Vent Fitness would receive a 2 star rating before the pandemic started. I’ll keep it short and sweet. Vent Fitness decides when it wants it’s already paying customers to actually use the basketball court. They would rather have a random person spend money to rent the court than to let the paying members use it. Too many times have I walked into the gym to play and was told I couldn’t even though I paid my monthly membership. Again, poor way of running a business. In conclusion, you are better off spending your hard earned money on literally any other gym in the area. Most other gyms provided the same equipment, charge $10 a month, and won’t put you through torture like Vent Fitness does.

Negative experience: Updated based on Manager's response. Pros: Large gym with lots of equipment options; and they are well organized. They seem to be constantly vacuuming. Billing has been fine. Check in is smooth. Cons: Dirty. When it rains there are leaks all over. Masks aren't enforced inside. I've seen people spitting on the ground. There is constant pee all over the floors and dividers; and in the same spots, making me think it is a cleaning issue. They seem understaffed, it is not like you ever see employees not working. Limiting court use isn't enforced (which is a pro sometimes). I've seen them enforce the wristband requirement twice. Otherwise, it tends to be too busy to use. TVs on cardio can be iffy; I've had to fix the coaxial cable connection many times. The clunky interface on the machines isn't their fault, but it is better at other locations. Note: The other locations are much better in nearly all of these areas and the main hope behind this review is that they consider fixing some of these issues. 2 Stars because there is potential. Edit: So I took the advice of Vent Fitness' reply and gave them another chance. Actually, I've gone back to this location 3 times since then. Nothing has changed, if anything things are worse. The basketball court is consistently maskless. Commonly people are running with their mask not just below their nose, but below their mouth. It wouldn't bother me that much of Vent didn't also send emails to all members about how safe gyms are and how they do their part. Today, the bathroom was flooded again. Instead of cleaned, a few towels were thrown on it and a "caution, slippery when wet" sign. Cleaning crew was vacuuming. For whatever reason, they grouped 10 pieces of equipment so tight they almost touch to make room for monkey bars I haven't seen used yet. If you can high five each other from your seat between sets, you're too close, even in pre-COVID times. I really hope this place gets better and these issues aren't signs the gym is failing business-wise.

Negative experience: Good luck canceling your membership. I called to cancel and for some reason the person who should be able to handle a small amount of customer service that answers the phone can’t help you with cancelling besides referring you to a website. I go to the website and of course there’s a mile long questionnaire. Filled it out and then it says someone will get back to me about canceling. No one ever got back to me so now my card has been charged twice since cancelling and I have to have my bank block charges from vent fitness. I cancelled 4 gym memberships while moving to Florida. This place gave me the hardest time by far. They can keep the $60 and the review. Gyms decent. Had to skip cable workouts a lot because it’s packed and there’s a line even later at night. Liked the jukebox though.

Fantastic experience: I've been training at VENT in Guilderland for a couple of years now. They have the best personal trainers around. Most recently, I've been group training with Ryan John, who is energetic, knowledgeable, and passionate about helping people reach their training goals. His classes are a blast! In addition to getting a great workout, his classes leave me with a positive attitude and a sense of accomplishment.

Negative experience: Not a good place everyone is very judgemental and prices are too high. I had the level 4 member ship which was the highest one and gave me access to all rooms but I did not get that access. To overpriced and older adults are always out during kids swimming time which is very strange to me and after many complaints the employees still did nothing about that. Negative experience: I was a member of Vent Fitness in Guilderand for over 4 years, and I didn't have many issues as member. However, trying to cancel my membership has been a total hassel bordering on nightmare. Several phone calls later, and I still don't have confirmation that my membership has been cancelled. I have been unable to use the membership for over 7 months, because I bought a house about 35 minutes away, and I also don't work in that area. After several phone calls and having them tell me I was wrong about which location I visited (among many other incorrect details), they finally realized they were looking at the wrong account. I don't know how long this drama is going to continue, because after they finally realized they cancelled the WRONG account, I still don't have a confirmation that they actually cancelled mine.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of this location for a few years and I absolutely love it! When I check in, I'm greeted continuously with smiles and pleasant chat. I attend Monday's and Saturday's Zumba classes with Zumba Jay. This class is full of such great energy! Jay brings such high energy to his classes! Always creative with his themed classes, playlists and dance moves! I don't know anyone who leaves his class without smiling and sweating!

Fantastic experience: The fitness classes offered at Vent are high quality and at a much cheaper monthly rate than some other popular facilities in the area. Zumba Jay's classes keep me motivated to attend weekly. I don't want to miss out on the fun! Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I usually Vent at Niskayuna, but visit Guilderland on Monday and Saturday. The gym itself is terrific. In particular, I enjoy Zumba with Jason Halse (Zumba Jay) a lot. Not only is it good exercise, its a lot of fun the way Jason teaches it. Definitely recommend taking one of his classes.

Fantastic experience: Impressed! Never have I ever made any commitment to a gym routine as I have the last seven months. I find Vent at Guilderland a very welcoming and friendly place. With the help of the wonderful instructors namely Jerry Cunningham ( he makes us feel like we are the only one in the class he focuses on when he calls out our names, pushing us to the limit and more!). Jeannine Gannon ( with her infectious enthusiasm and her ability to inspire us, I push myself through the barriers of any previous injury pain) Charlotte ( her hilarious sense of humor and relatable encouragement pushes me to complete task at hand so I can reward myself a sweet food treat later ). LOVE THIS PLACE

Fantastic experience: I've been going to vent for a couple years now. since moving to Albany i never thought id find a gym Home but I did in VENT. I've loved it so much to a point that im sad when I rarely have to miss it. The trainers, the atmosphere and the opportunities are are amazing. At Vent YOU come first which I what I fell in love with.

Fantastic experience: I have been with Vent since the beginning and was at Golds before that. I have not had any issues with billing, taking classes, having a trainer (Theresa Fiori you are fantastic). I am a morning person and the place is always being cleaned when I am there. I average 4-5 mornings a week. Can this cleanliness be said about other fitness centers? The classes and instructors (Jerry Cunningham, Jeannine Gannon, Kelly Gillan, Dawn Jones, to mention a few) are varied and motivating. You can ask any Vent trainer/instructor for help and they are happy to give it to you. I ask often. Gina L. Is a terrific administrator and appears to have a good handle on the daily operations. She is available to members too. I enjoy the various amenities and offerings from Vent at all locations. Vent offers something for all and I am a satisfied and happy Vent participant. I always feel there is room for improvement and Vent continually strives forward in a positive direction.

Fantastic experience: Love the classes, and the instructors. ZUMBA JAY makes every workout fun while he makes you sweat-he is reason enough to join this club! Sometimes I have to drag myself to the gym, but I feel so good after his class I’m always glad I went! Try it once and you’ll be hooked!

Fantastic experience: Vent Fitness in Guilderland is a great place. I love the Aqua classes with Barbara H., Zumba with Jay and Chisel and Body Circuit with Jerry Cunningham. They are all fantastic instructors and the workout is always rewarding.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for over 3 years. My first exercise class at Vent was with Zumba Jay. I got hooked immediately and have been attending his classes ever since. He is dedicated, fun, and keeps everyone motivated. He always has great playlists too :-)

Fantastic experience: I've been a VENT Guilderland member now for several years. I enjoy and participate in various different classes and use the equipment but having Mike Malone as a trainer and being a member of his Team Minions in the challenges has made all the difference in the world for me and my overall health and fitness. He is an amazing motivator who really knows his business helping guide each individual he trains become the best they can be.

Fantastic experience: Vent in Guilderland is my gym of choice because there is so much to choose from for fitness from day to day between classes, floor work, personal training, swimming or small specialized fitness classes. Jerry Cunningham, personal trainer and group fitness instructor is my go to guy at Vent, very professional, motivating and informative....a definite asset!!

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t be happier with the facility and all it has to offer. The floor, the equipment and the classes are great.... all the staff and trainers are amazing... especially Jerry Cunningham.... his dedication to his clients and all the members is above and his classes are challenging and fun.

Fantastic experience: I have belonged to many gyms over the years but I never stuck with them. I joined Vent 5 years ago and I'm still there. I started with aqua classes with Jason (Zumba Jay) and worked up to Zumba classes and personal training. Vent is always clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and they offer a great variety and schedule of classes. I mostly take classes with Zumba Jay because he makes every workout fun yet challenging.He has a high energy level that is very motivating. I highly recommend Jason's classes at Vent Fitness.

Fantastic experience: The rating is 5* because I am trying to shamelessly plug, ZUMBA JAY!, In hopes that he wins best Zumba-er? IDK nor care, he has taught 3 classes I have taken and each one I expected each to suck, but he has made then fun and almost enjoyable (it is exercise so unless you enjoy sweating like a pig, I say "almost enjoyable"). Separate from the contest he's a great instructor for beginning people too. You will laugh and smile through a hell of a workout.
