Positive experience: Pros: love playing tennis and pickleball here. The weight room is clean and roomy. The classes I’ve taken I’ve enjoyed Cons: no morning classes 7-9a (would be great for those that work from home full time) Weight room can be very busy and hard to get a bench. Pickleball courts are hard to reserve in the winter as they fill up quickly.

Negative experience: If you’re looking for a new gym, avoid MVP Crahen. I am deeply appalled and outraged by the treatment my husband experienced at MVP Athletic Club, Crahen. During a recent visit, an employee, in a moment of frustration, referred to him as “you brown people.” This blatant act of racism is beyond unacceptable. When my husband understandably defended himself, the gym chose to suspend him for two weeks instead of addressing the inappropriate comment made by their staff. Even more troubling, the employee who made the comment didn’t report the incident—someone else did—and the general manager has refused to return my calls to address this serious matter. It’s shocking and disappointing that a place promoting health and inclusivity would condone this kind of behavior and ignore a valid complaint of discrimination. I expected better accountability and professionalism from Benny Hardouin and MVP. We both have enjoyed our memberships up to this point and made a lot of friends through the gym.Until this situation is resolved and appropriate action is taken, I will not be recommending this gym to anyone. This is a moment for MVP to take a stand against racism and demonstrate their commitment to fairness and respect. Do better.

Positive experience: Such a huge difference between this fitness center location with realtively clean facility, friendly and caring staff and newer equipment compared to MVP Sportsplex on Burton. Not sure what they do differently to provide a much better experience than the Burton location. Maybe different management on site? State-of-the-art pickle ball facility (Not rating the pool area as I do not attend the Orchard Hills pool).

Many options of classes, an excellent gym clean and modern spaces, like the restrooms, the tennis and pickle ball courts, the big an relaxing swimming pool, and the instructors are really nice motivated and they know how to do their job in the best way. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Crahen MVP for over 8 years now. It’s a great place for all your fitness needs. Love the different classes, the open turf area. They have a very friendly staff and are always helpful.

Negative experience: I am a parent of one of the wheelchair tennis players . They only will open the wheelchair entrance 5 or 10 minutes ahead of time. Sometimes later because we have to call the office and say hey we are here. They put us way down farthest away from the gate and we have to be out of the gate at 8. Practice is from 6 to 8 . We have been here on these courts for years before mvp bought it from orchards. We were treated with dignity and respect. Now it's like we are just a hassle. Our big Midwest tournament lost sanctioned play. Not sure why but I think the board of directors or Devos them selves need to meet up with Maryfree bed and figure out a solution to why we are being treated so rude. Our coaches are professionals yet are denied the ability to have access to gate lock.

Fantastic experience: This place is epic in the summer time! The pool/water slide, concession stand, basketball area, grills/picnic tables and playground give a nostalgic feeling of when there were neighborhood pools where everyone hung out!! My son played in the summer tennis camp and absolutely loved it. He is now taking lessons from Coach Ryan and is also loving their indoor court tennis camps! The fitness areas and equipment are very clean and there are always tons of available equipment to use, as it is nowhere near as chaotic as YMCAs or Planet Fitness. Their spin classes are awesome and they have a ton of other classes to keep exercise exciting!! Highly worth the price for fitness/tennis/pickleball fanatics (or anyone who needs a place to safely entertain their kids in the summer!!!)

Positive experience: During my guest pass visits I enjoyed how this gym was never crowded and I rarely had to wait to use a weight or machine even during peak hours. I'm not sure if this is an effect of the pandemic, but this was throughout 2022. The gym has the usual treadmills, cycles, weights, machines, basketball court, etc. that other gyms have, but it also had a turf area with trx equipment (this was also on the squat racks for use) and plyo boxes and weight sleds which could all be used if a class was not ongoing. Speaking of classes, many are offered that are free to sign up for with membership. Outdoor amenities are included which include a pool and I believe tennis courts. My only complaint is the outrageous membership price which just increased! If you're willing to fork over that much money for a clean, well-equiped gym that offers all the above amenities than MVP may be worth it, but if you're looking for a cheaper option for basic gym equipment than there are far cheaper options in Grand Rapids.

Negative experience: Local organization consists of friendly staff. Corporate is awful to the point of unethical. Prices rise almost monthly, services don’t. Guest passes increase in prices, saved points lose their value, and these changes are almost monthly. For the services offered, corporate is making profoundly unfriendly and bizarre pushes.

Fantastic experience: Great gym equipment that exercises all of your muscles! The pool is extremely nice with a great slide! There's great seating so you can sunbathe and then jump in the water! Also I find the pool is always the perfect temperature and I never get cold! My only complaint would be that the shallow ends can be quite dirty and need to be cleaned.

Fantastic experience: The Service Desk representatives are welcoming and friendly. The instructors are great and always have a positive attitude. The locker room, at the Crahen location, is kept clean and tidy. The Health Points Program is a good incentive to visit the gym regularly and earn discounts towards membership and the current Connect4 Challenge is a fun way to try new classes outside my regular workout routine.

Fantastic experience: As a beginner iny fitness journey I was intimidated to take some of the fitness classes but the instructors were so welcoming and great these classes are the highlight of my day! Everyone on staff makes you feel welcomed and comfortable! You walk in and feel like you belong! I love that the MVP Athletic Club has become my second home!

Fantastic experience: MVP is a fantastic, full-service gym at the same price as the boutique, single-focus gyms. They have indoor and outdoor pools, basketball, tennis and pickle ball courts, turf, bumper weights, tons of machines, free weights and cardio equipment. They offer a large variety of classes at various times throughout the day that work with any schedule. The atmosphere is friendly, supportive and the staff are great. I’ve been a member for around 7 years and can’t imagine going anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. It starts with the front desk staff, who make an effort to get to know their members names, which is welcoming. The classes are great, with lots of options throughout the day & week. And the gym floor (treadmills, weights etc.) are rarely over crowded. If it works with your budget, I definitely recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: I have loved being a member of MVP. I’m the type of person who doesn’t know what to do at the gym but really wants to go and workout. I love taking advantage of the group fitness classes! And the pool in the summer is something you just can’t pass up!

Several lifeguards and overall immaculately clean with staff on duty disinfecting the area. Staff friendly welcoming guests for a nominal charge. Thank you for a lovely day.

Positive experience: Let me start by saying the staff is first rate - attentive and always super polite. In fact i hesitate to write this as the wonderful people who work here have little to no control of what i'm about to write. Now for the equipment, many pieces worn out with some being understandable but as a member for nearly five years I can also say it seems the corporate mentality has seeped into disregard also as it pertains to working in new items well after pieces have fallen out of good condition. Just my two cents and I normally give reviews that only consist of five stars.

She is so fun to work with and is a real pro. She knows what my aging body needs, challenging me but never pushing me farther than I should go. I never thought I would say this but now I can't imagine stopping. This is a great gym. Clean, well maintained and the staff is very nice.

Positive experience: I love the instructors here with Training for Warriors! Prices are a little steep and not flexible if you're injured and need to take a month off. You still have to pay.
