Anytime Fitness Pinehurst

Negative experience: I have called over 20 times now trying to discuss my membership and no answer. I have emailed and left multiple voicemails. My membership was frozen and someone reversed this and I am now being charged again. I don’t even attend the gym anymore, and they’d know I am trying to cancel my membership if they would just answer the phone. I have also had my call declined multiple times. I am not the type to leave a review on places but this has became ridiculous. I am a stay at home mom who really relies on doing things online most of the time. I honestly don’t recommend this place due to lack of communication.

It is the best gym I have been to in a long long time. The equipment is in very good condition and I would like to thank Anytime Fitness for a job well done!!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym with an extremely helpful and polite staff manager, Kaylee, along with clean restrooms and equipment. The gym is never too busy throughout the day, and it is reasonably priced with more than enough equipment to accomplish your goals!

Positive experience: New treadmills will get you five stars and another 5 years of my membership. Update: the screens appear to be working now. 3 stars.

Do wish they had a stair climber and an assisted pull up bar, but other than that it was a great gym Only reason they are getting a 3 star is because I rate things based on the best gyms I been to although it’s a great gym it’s not the best overall but it’s definitely worth the membership and I would recommend to someone in the area starting out with fitness

Fantastic experience: This Anytime Fitness is phenomenal! Kaylee, Lauren, Dyemond (and the rest of the team) are all so friendly and do a great job keeping the facility clean and organized. I’ve moved a lot and have been a member at a handful of gyms, but this Anytime Fitness takes the cake! It’s so well run, all around, which makes going to the gym an absolute joy! Keep up the amazing work!

Fantastic experience: Just moved into the area and wanted to find a decent spot that didn’t cost an arm and a leg (doesn’t really matter for us because we use Active & Fit). The young woman that got my wife and I set up with our fobs was so incredibly nice and helpful. As far as the facility itself, I’m kind of impressed on how much gear they were able to effectively fit into such a conservative space. It has everything you could need and it hasn’t been overly busy so far when we’ve come.

Fantastic experience: Recently became a member at this location. When I first went to sign up I was cordially greeted by the owners and absolutely taken care of from hand-holding through all the electronic sign-up instructions (which apparently I am not very good at doing on my own ;-) ) to feeling like they go above and beyond for every client that walks through the door. So far my workouts have had everything I need and the cleanliness of the facility is top notch. I highly recommend and am so glad that I joined. I feel like I have a new gym family.

Negative experience: Walked in to inquire about a membership. Two insane women were talking to each other, while the employee, who was admittedly the only one there, humored their insanity. If you're looking for an actual gym, this ain't it. It's day care for old, nutty women.

Fantastic experience: Been a member for quite a few years, super clean, great staff, Veteran owned. Been to a couple of other Anytime Fitness's in other states and they don't even compare to this facility. As long as I'm still upright and living in Pinehurst, I'll be a member.

Positive experience: This is a nice anytime fitness club, clean equipment in good shape. Disappointed that they don’t offer sign ups like other clubs so I got a wait till I go back to my Florida club to let my wife join again. I can understand different pricing in different areas but I would’ve thought that all the clubs would have a sign up for two people like it says on the Internet but the store does not. So onto a different area maybe they’ll have it planned for my wife.

Negative experience: Extraordinarily dangerous--owner "doesn't believe in [en]forcing facial coverings" so they are not required. Anytime Fitness Pinehurst (Owner), I appreciate the explanation and your service, but just so you know: HIPPA rights only apply to "covered entities" such as health care providers (as explained by Professor Meisel, an authority on legal aspects of decision making in the physician-patient relationship, from the University of Pittsburgh) and only to information that those entities already have (as confirmed by Professor Shephered, professor of biomedical ethics at the University of Virginia) so businesses and individuals are absolutely within their right to ask why someone isn't wearing a mask and therefore enforce them. Additionally, the ADA expressly allows an employer to ask for health information and turn away a person because not wearing a mask falls under the "direct threat" clause, which has a lot of legal precedent protecting a business in this case (as explained by Professor Roberts, the director of Health Law & Policy Institute at the University of Houston), the same way that "no shoes no shirt no service" is legally enforceable. The entire point of the ADA to make sure that people with disabilities are supported in finding alternatives (such as face shields), not just giving up on masks in general. I understand where you're coming from and how stressful it can be to inquire with people why they may not be wearing a mask, but with how dangerous this virus is (I mean, already 266 thousand people have died in the US alone) it's worth the extra time and effort to support people in finding alternatives that will help us keep each other safe.

Positive experience: This gym once was clean, well-maintained, and had a great staff. I still go there, but it’s not as clean as it once was, now that it’s under new ownership. Floors aren’t vacuumed, and trash cans are overflowing. I stay there because it’s close to home. I miss the previous owners who showed they cared.

Fantastic experience: Anytime Fitness in Pinehurst is awesome! I am an “older” lady just getting back into fitness and they have been so kind and understanding. The members are so nice too! I come in the afternoon and always have space to do what I want to do. The gym is always clean and maintained. I recommend this location for a newbie or a seasoned fitness veteran. They make you feel welcome and comfortable..

Fantastic experience: excellent equipment and helpful staff, however, they maintain a very high noise level with "motivating music"...recent studies have reportedly shown an hour exposure to 85 decibels causes hearing damage; they also measured a gym class with music well over 85 decibels; often gyms ..in a desperate effort to motivate people....jack the "music" up much higher...my experience suggests that this is futile... if you hate to exercise, loud music will just make you a deaf person who hates to exercise. I don't know the decibel level at this gym so I can't say for sure they are in the danger zone, but I definitely notice an increase in tinnitus after working out there....if it weren't for the noise level I would give them a five star...so if you hearing is already damaged, you might feel very comfortable exercising there. Information on the internet should be fact checked...google "how your workouts could be damaging your hearing" and check it for yourself. UPDATE: The volume has been under control for the past week, so I am changing my rating....this is a great gym and well-worth a 5 star rating.
